Meet & Greets and We Need More John Bolgers

First some news.

Universal was suppose to be filming up at Mirror Lake Wednesday, Thursday & Friday but everything came together at the last moment. This means that Johnny Depp who was suppose to still be in the area flew to Nassau today (I believe) for a few days off.

The crew reunites Sunday in Chicago.

Steven Graham has finished filming and has been cut loose for new exciting ventures and it is seeming like the movie is plodding forward, some would say a page a day.

It's also been overheard that there might be a trip back to Manitowish Waters but no hard news on that one.

It sounds like the Mirror Lake stuff is action packed with lots of gun play, blood, dieing and car stunts (I hope they do the one with the 15 police hanging onto one car in a chase scene).
-----------------------------
Photos - I have been inundated with photos the last few days and it's blowing my mind.

Meet and Greets and John Bolger.

Perhaps I am naive and think that all meet & greets are like they are in Columbus. I have never been "on the line" except here. I was on the other side in Oshkosh and didn't make it to Madison. I watched for an hour the filming of that forgettable comedy "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" across the street where I work but there was not really a line, more of a gathering.

I think meet & greet is not so much meeting and greeting the cast but meeting and greeting other people on the line. It's almost a party atmosphere. Everybody is polite and happy and talking to strangers. Friendships are created, phone numbers and email address are swapped.

On a very weird level it's tediously exciting. I'm not trying to make a play on words, it really is.

Monday we were in line and a truly magical moment happened when not a huge name star but a smaller time actor John Bolger came out to talk to the crowd. Bolger plays Martin Zarkovich and was last seen in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and before that his now infamous roll of "Man Holding Woman" in "War Of The Worlds").
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*** - OK all of you ladies and germs - first person to find "Man Holding Woman" on the DVD gets a very special prize selected just for you. Just tell me what chapter on the DVD and how far into that chapter. Then we can You Tube it for the heaving throngs.
READY!!! GO!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My question is why don't more actors come out and talk to the "line". Christian Stolte came out and signed autographs and I'm sure people are looking into what he has done in the past (look for him in Leatherheads, he is Pete).

I don't think the actors understand that even if Bo Bo the Monkey Boy would come out he would be signing autographs and making new fans for the future.

But when John Bolger came out he entertained the crowd and they truly loved it, he put a warm glow on everyone, there were smiles and laughter and I guarantee he made some long term Bolger fans.

Jenny has a blog and John asked her to convey a message to Columbus and Madison - so take a time out and cruise over there to read his message. But y'all come back now, ya hear?
------------------------------
Yesterday we had 2,408 unique readers, 4th highest ever and 4,822 page loads.

Looking ONLY at the last 500 readers (it's all I can see for free) we had readers from Moscow, Brazil, Bucharest Romania, all over France and Japan , Athens Greece, Lahore Pakistan, Ankara Turkey, Deventer Netherlands, Bangkok Thailand, Cologne Germany and Spisska Nova Ves Slovakia. And that is only the last 500 visits of the 179,174 so far.

I wonder if Nancy O (our Mayor) had ever imagined Columbus would be on the lips of all of those towns and cities. I KNOW I DIDN'T - PRESSURE !!
-------------------------------
So with that I'm all worn out - I'll have photos in the coming days once the buzz wheres off.

I also want to look around the town this weekend and look at the signs, have there been some little changes that people have not noticed?? I know The Brothel (also called The Poser House) is not being taken apart until late June. hmmmmmmm!

Cheers and hugs

  2. maegan, I know some people use Flight Tracker...a lady in Oshkosh was obsessed with JDs flights and kept posting it in the paper's online forums.

  3. Crew is getting together immediately upon return to Chicago, not on Sunday.

JMB coming out was all kinds of awesome, as was Christian and Stephen. But, it's not to be expected, and your question is treading a very thin line. I understand your point, but fans should not expect the actors to come and hang out because we want them to. They are AT. WORK. and usually on a much needed break. Would you want to spend your breaks at your job working when you could be resting?

And why does it matter what airport JD flew out of?

  4. Rod....after reading jenny's blog..i decided that you need more PINK on yours!!!!!
You guys might have even inspired me to start one! I've been reading lots from people on here and they're all good.
    Has everyone recovered from yesterday?????

  6. it doesnt matter anon..i was just posting a question.. just curious if he would fly out of a small airport or if he would use a bigger one like milwaukee or ohare...you dont have to get grumpy.
osh-i didnt realize that people keep track of his flights...
how do they even know what flight is his? i know about flight tracker..but you have to have the flight number and stuff..

  7. maegan...I guess she knew because she stalked the airport? I dunno. I thought it was creepy.

on a side note, I can't even begin to imagine the jet lag...

    yeah, creepy

    and jet lag...yucky!

  9. So, I saw a headline today that Mike Judge wants to start a live-action film version of Beavis and Butthead. In the story: http://tinyurl.com/4gex9t
Judge notes that in the 1990s, Johnny Depp had interest in playing the part of Beavis, although it appears that this time it will be Jon Heder and Sean William Scott. But, if Depp decides to take on the role, since Beavis and Butthead took place in New Mexico and we've a;ready seen that Beaver Dam can pass for Arizona, maybe they can make that film around here too! :)

    (How's that for a stretch!)

  10. Mr. Depp sure doesn't let any grass grow under his feet. I don't know how he can do it. But it is obvious he is a special kinda guy.
Thanks for the info on John Michael Bolger. I looked him up because I thought he might be related to Ray but I guess not. Thank you guys for everything and Rod for this blog. Never ever read blogs before now might really get into it.

  11. Actually it comes from an Insider.

And Anonymous 10:04 - they work for their fans who pay for the movies.

It takes 10 minutes and they are making how much money?

I'm not insisting - I was just saying that it would do THEIR personal profession a world of good.

And yes - I WOULD spend my 10 minute break at the end of the day talking to people who would enjoy my company.

I guess when crew members say "I'll see you on Sunday they meant something different. Sorry I misinterpreted.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Billie - When I was talking with JMB on Monday he said that he was related to Ray Bolger, but I'm not sure if he was pulling my leg or not...

  13. We (Maegan, Shakenbsis and I) were talking on Tuesday night about the other actors, and even the crew, doing meet and greets. What a great way for actors to build up their fanbase and get their name out there! JMB could have been just another name in the credits, but now people are going to the movie to see HIM, because they know what a great guy he is.

The crew who have come and talked to the fans have been amazing too! Special props to Vinnie the painter aka "the Bicycle Man". I would have loved to have met more crew members. There are so many who just sit around base camp during filming. Maegan and I were joking that we should make a sign saying "We're bored! Come talk to us!"

    ReplyDelete
  14. Toadless...are you talking about Vinnie the 18ft. tall painter?
    He was really nice.
I miss Ron the painter too.
We were forunate that we had a lot of the crew stop in and hang out at "lucky's" in Oshkosh in between takes so we got to meet a ton of them and every single one of them was super cool.

    ReplyDelete
  15. j^p - yep. That would be the one.

We had watched him work in Oshkosh, but never caught his name, so had just been referring to him as "the Bicycle Man"

Finally got his real name and his job title on Tuesday :D

  16. I'll put in a vote on Vinnie also. Great guy.

  17. Hey everyone. There was a girl on here the other day looking for some video or pictures of her hugging Johnny. I have not scanned my video for her but I will post it so she can see if she finds herself.

Now, this video is 8 minutes long, and very poorly taped...sorry I was multi-tasking! This is from Monday night.

The youtube link is the very very long tape. The photobucket one is 3.5 mins and highlights the important things, however the first half of the crowd is not in the tape..you might see Jenny's house though!

  18. Great story about Jenny and JMB...
Crews are so important to a movie...
    We call them (The insiders)
When I was on the Race Circuit it is the crew that gets the Car going and the driver gets all the credit.
But it is fun when you meet the crew and can really have fun with them.
I Thank Rod again for this Blog!!

I hope this isn't crossing the line, I would NEVER intrude on Johnny's space or privacy;but does anyone know of an address (the studio, maybe?) where you can write to him? I had a small gift for him that I wanted to give him Tuesday evening, but then I left early (12:30 am) because my camera batteries died and I had to be to work at 4:30 am. If he should come back in June, I'll try to stay all night to give it to him personally then. But otherwise would like to mail it to him.

  20. Rod:

Yes, they work for their fans, but they owe them nothing more than putting in a good performance. That is their job, it is not their job to come say hi to people. If someone gets upset that Johnny (or anyone else) doesn't come out to greet the crowds or leaves before he gets to them, they need to reexamine a few things.

As for the crew, I have an inside source as well, and they tell me they go right back to work when they get to Chicago.

  22. From a friend.....

My wife works with a guy who is an extra or got a small part in Public Enemies. He is trying to figure out who is playing (Senator) McClellan in the movie. He is a character actor we all would recognize who is in his seventies. All he knew is that they called him Ed. He's not listed on the movie at IMDB yet. Any idea who the actor is?

    anyone anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Guess we are lucky that their are kind actors out there who do see value in coming to say hi...:) If anyone has ever seen the documentary about Gene Simmons...he talks about how he realizes his fame comes from his fans...he would be nothing without them and that's why he feels it's so important to greet them and be kind to fans. I think Johnny Depp must have that same feeling because he's done many meet and greets for us all and even would tell Jerry..I't's okay...I'll sign autographs..it doesn't take that long..(heard straight from the man's mouth on Monday night!)

  24. Sue,

Here's a link again to my photos. I still have a couple "just okay" shots to put up from Tuesday night, but the Monday ones are there, as is the video I took Tuesday night. Those looking for themselves from Tuesday should look at my video. ;) (Look at the edited one. The other one is the long version with lots of ground footage because I didn't actually get my camera turned off). LOL

    http://tinyurl.com/67ejqx

I agree that the actors don't "owe" us anything, but that it does do wonders for their PR to come and meet their fans. It's a very generous act to give more of yourself after your work is done. It was fun, for sure!

  25. Anonymous 11:17 AM

I believe you are missing my point - I was never saying they SHOULD come out. All I was saying is that it is NICE that they come out and it is appreciated.

As for Chicago - I'm not going to get into a silly argument about Chicago - it is childish and a waste of time.

You are trying to draw me into an argument.

BTW - since I have your ear - When do they get to Chicago??

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thanks for the link, Suz! I don't have a photobucket or Flickr account. I'm going to upload my pictures from Beaver Dam to Walmart (I had sent a few to Rod, but I'm sure he's been bombarded) and I can send them to anyone that would like to see them. Just let me know.

  27. Anon at 11:17 am...completely agree with you! They are there to act and make a great movie. I am happy when we are allowed to watch quietly and meet other fans. I was at an earlier filming in Crown Point and never even imagined Johnny Depp would come out to the crowd and shake hands. I figured I would never get a picture of him. It was just great to see all the things that go into making a scene. Being "on a set"...or near it ha ha. I think these meets are getting to be an obligation and it makes me sad. I hope JD knows he has fans that love him even if he doesn't feel like coming out. I am sure they would all love some quiet time between filming and not having to come out to a mob of people. Some feel comfortable with it and want to and that's great. But only if they want to. And thanks for that. But they shouldn't feel they have to.

    ReplyDelete
  28. No one ever said they HAD to come out, however I appreciate him even more now. I appreciate what he does for his fans. Johnny himself said that his fans are his boss. I am glad he feels that way because I had a chance to meet him. I wouldn't have thought any less of him if he hadn't come out...

Funny how one little comment sparks this ridiculous debate!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I reread my post and am confused at what the fuss is about.

I think we are all agreeing on the same thing but in different levels.

No one should ever feel they have too.

I just wonder if they understand what it means to Joe Common that has been standing for 8 hours in the cold with no food or toilet to have someone come over and give them a smile.

They don't HAVE to do it.

I don't HAVE to capture a spider in my house and let it go outside, but the spider appreciates it.

Now I will drop the subject.

  30. I don't remember seeing ANYONE dragging JD out to the line to see him. You can tell he really enjoys respectful and pleasant fans and loves what he is doing!! By the way, why do those that think they know everything always remain anonymous...it must bolster their ego!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'll throw in my two cents perspective. Does Depp have to meet and greet? No.

Does he seem to enjoy it? Yes.

In addition to pleasing fans, could there be other benefits to a star of Depp's stature to these meetings? Yes. Think about it... Knowing that humans will notoriously take the laziest path, if Depp makes it known that there's a good chance that people can get their moment with him in a place like Base Camp, they will do that and it will deter them from following and further stalking to hotels, private places, etc. So, as best as I can see, the 15-30 minutes that it takes after even a long day of work probably pays off in dividends of less folks bothering him during his private time...

    ReplyDelete
  37. this is what I know...

I am very thankful and very grateful for each opportunity I was able to give my son (and I had the bonus of meeting some very fine people)

To be honest, I was never a big JD fan until all of this...Evan was, and I realized how I could make this an opportunity for MANY teachable moments for him. I had absolutely no idea it would go beyond one day in Oshkosh. We were blessed.

Mr Depp, the crew, and security that we met and interacted with (and Jerry too) were nothing but polite, gracious and kind to my son and myself. Nobody forced them to be. And I would hate to think it was all for show...these were/are genuine people.
Just like the friends we have made in Columbus.

  41. Bottom line is:
If Johnny Depp didnt want to do a meet and greet he wouldnt!!!! Its totally up to him and him alone!!!!
If fans "expect" it.. shame on them! I dont get the sense that anyone associated with this blog "expects" anything other than to have a good time!
What Johnny decides to do with his "down" time is HIS decision!
Johnny has ALWAYS been generous with his time and autographs to his fans... thats what makes him happy!
    *steps off soapbox*

    ReplyDelete
  42. I have read about this same issue on IMDB and kept quite. But I have had enough of keeping quiet. There was nothing wrong with Rod's post-he said the meet and greets were appreciated, and mentioned that it is a benefit to the actors. That is a fact. The more popular they are, the more money they will make. There are thousands of people that will now see every Johhny Depp movie ever made because they met him and think he is a doll for being so kind.

But I don't think Johnny is doing it for the money, I think he is doing it because he is genuinely a good person. He is known for helping the homeless, going the extra mile for his fellow actors, being extremely kind to children, etc. And he has been greeting his fans like this for years. It is not an obligation that stemmed from being in wisconsin or Indiana. I am a huge fan of Johnny because of the person he is. I watched 21 Jump Street when I was 20 and thought he was the cutest thing I had ever seen. But I truly became a fan because I heard how sweet and humble he is.

Futhermore, although no one expects Johnny to do all that he does, I think all of the actors should at least acknowledge the crowd and people should be allowed to watch a little form a safe distance. Having the movie in our cities is an inconvenience, but no one minds because of the excitement of being able to watch amd maybe see some stars. If that opportunity is not there, and no one sees anything, than it goes back to beig nothing but an inconvenience. The actors and crew are just giving a little something back to the crew for all the street closures, extra traffic, and noise. The community may be receving extr funds, but the average person is not receiving that money.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Movie Star Wife, Are you still a "movie star wife" or is your 15 minutes of fame over? A couple of days ago you mentioned that the "movie star" was told he had a few more days in the spotlight. Is it safe to assume everything has changed? (Does this mean you may have to change your username?) An update on your status would be nice.

  44. very interesting to see peoples comments about meet and greets.
anon at 12:55 is right and so is rod. they dont have to do it, but they do anyways, because they appreciate the fans, who watch their movies and take interest in their jobs.
heck, to be honest...if i were in JD's shoes..and it was tuesday night/early wednesday morning at 3:30 in the morning..id probably be like, im tired, forget saying hi to the fans, but JD didnt do that. he came out and said hello. he is very humble, in my opinion, and has not turned into a "diva" (as toadless girl and i were discussing on tuesday)
    thats my two cents.

  46. I agree whole-heartedly with Sunprairie.
And I hope no one took my post from yesterday (I never checked back) or this morning in the wrong way when I said I was disappointed. I was disappointed that I decided not to wait for several reasons. One of which is that I really didn't think (or expect) him to come out again on Tuesday (Wednesday) since he had done so on Monday night and was working so late on Tuesday. I truly appreciate the fact that even though those things were true; he STILL came out again. And I missed possibly my last chance of meeting him. But he surely didn't owe that opportunity to me or anyone else.

  47. If anyone is interested, there is a news clip with scenes from the filming in Beaver Dam on WBEV's website. Here's the link

    http://www.wbevradio.com/wbev.aspx

I agree that what Johnny does for his fans is not necessary, but wonderful. The kids and I were thrilled to just be able to see him upclose while filming in front of the Capri when we were eating lunch there and would have been happy with just that and seeing some filming and being able to walk on the set and take pictures. It was an extra special bonus that we got up close during the meet and greet that night. Like Osh, I wasn't much of a fan before then, the kids and I most definately are now!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I am looking for some pictures from the Beaver Dam shoot, most specifically ones that include the cactuses (sp?) and the front of the hotel where you can see the sign too. Since we go to BD fairly regularly so see my mom I thought it would be a nice addition to DD's scrapbook that she's doing on the filming.

I would also be interested in any taken close-up during filming that show the actors in front of places in Columbus that would be distinguishable. I know that's pretty broad and I know some nice ones have already been posted, but I wasn't thinking. Stupid me.

I wish I had known about John Micheal Bolger signing autographs at base camp on 3/20. We were at the Capri shortly before that, we could have popped over there. :(

If you have any that you are willing to share please email me at tkoran@charter.net

I could just kick myself for being too much of a "deer in headlights" to have one taken at the time -- I was living in the moment, but now I want my proof! Thanks for the links. I didn't find myself in the YouTube video, and I couldn't find your Photobucket stuff, the link wasn't a direct link. Again, if anyone can help me ... I would be forever in your debt :) Description again: short girl, long blonde hair back in a barrette; black jacket, jeans, hugged at the May 12 midnight meet and greet. I was standing by the group of girls who did the "21 Jump Street" bird/gun salute :) There were a zillion "flashbulbs" going off so I think someone, somewhere captured my moment!!

Our photos just have to out there, don't you think?! I like the idea of a flickr site dedicated to hugging :) I have been combing every site I can think of since Tuesday, and so far nothing. I'm *this close* to resorting to the old Photoshop :) It's not lying ... I did get a huge hug! Please keep me posted if you hear from the Jump Street girls!!

  68. JP,

I have that photo, but Rod asked me not to share it. He was afraid it might cause a lot of hard feelings that he got that much attention. Sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Rod, so the Universal trucks are already in Chicago? Approximately how long does it take to drive from Columbus to Chicago? [I assume it would take the same amount of time for the trucks to return to Columbus:)]

    ReplyDelete
  70. I think everyone has misread my original post.

Rod, I never accused you of insisting that the actors do meet and greets. I said you were treading a thin line with what you said, but I NEVER said that you were insisting that he come out.

People are so quick to bitch at me and others for snipey posts, when you guys are doing the exact same thing. Reading through too quickly and only seeing what you want to see.

I think it's great the JD (and the others) have come and talked to the fans. I have taken part in several of them myself. My whole point is that some people (and I'm not saying you, Rod, or anyone else who jumped down my throat) are beginning to expect that he do it every night and that's wrong. I have heard some people say "He better come out, I drove XXX miles/hours to see him." WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG.

I'm also not the one that got pissy about when the crew gets back together. I seem to recall your post in response to mine had a little snarky tone to it, Rod. I was simply stating what I heard, you're the one that tried to make it sound like you knew more than anyone else. There's a reason people were ripping on you at IMDb, and it's not just because they were being big old meanies.

And according to McSkippy, looks like my information was correct. (And I'm not saying yours wasn't. Maybe the crew members you overheard weren't reporting to work until Sunday, but the ones I talked to were hitting it up again right away.)

    ReplyDelete
  71. Yes, I agree about the flickr sight with all the hugging!!!

    VERY GOOD idea!!

  73. As far as when they will be up and running in Chicago, the potential actors strike has to be the 500 pound gorilla. [I think even herenotthere over at IMDb has made reference to it.]

Nobody knows [including Mann] whether there will be a strike, but the prudent approach is "hope for the better, but prepare for the worst". We can be confident that Mann doesn't want to waste a single day from now on.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Oops, I meant, "hope for the best, but prepare for the worst." Again my fingers were running faster than my brain.

  75. Anything regarding Milwaukee?

Have they been there yet? I have been trying to keep updated and it seems that Milwaukee just disappeared?

    Please help me!

    Thanks =]

    ReplyDelete
  76. People are ripping on me at IMDb?

Shame on them. You would think they would have better things to talk about

This is a no rip zone!

    It's all good here.

BTW - I did sound snippy and I apologize - a little under the weather.

  77. What is the 500 pound gorilla?

    ReplyDelete
  78. a flickr site with hugging?!?! that would be awesome! i know me and toadless girl would love it if we could get the word out about a flickr account to post JD hugs.
    Awesome idea!

    ReplyDelete
  79. shakenb-
did you happen to get any pictures of johnny hugging me or toadless?

what about the lady that was with us? short, glasses, she had left to get chapstick and come back.....is she on here? and if so, what is her blogger name? did she happen to get any pics?

    ReplyDelete
  80. Jenny, I probably should have said "800 pound gorilla" which is the usually expression. It refers to something that controls everything else.

On July 1 (or shortly afterwards) there will probably be an actors strike. Nobody knows what that will mean for Public Enemies if they haven't completed their filming at that point. It is possible that Mann could get a waiver to finish things up if he has only a little bit left to do. Soon everybody who is currently making a film has to have a plan B to deal with a possible strike. Obviously the best scenario for PE is to have all of the filming done by July 1.

I am sure that there are other people on this blog that know a lot more than I do about what could happen on July 1. Feel free to correct me:)

    ReplyDelete
  81. What are they striking over?

    ReplyDelete
  82. okay....here it is...

    photobucket is the site.

    username is DeppHugs

    password columbus

Anyone who wants to post thier hug pictures can...remember even if you think it's your worst picture of Depp it might be the only one of him hugging or shaking hands or talking to that person so post them all!

Let me know if there are any problems...the only I foresee is that we should post that we are going to go upload and then again when done so others don't interupt the uploading process as only one person can be logged in to the account at the time.

after everyone here gets a chance to upload then we can spread the word to some other blogsites and ask them to post as well!

  86. Any one know if JD will be in the filming at union station? I heard on imdb (so i don't know if it's correct) that they would be filming sunday night... It's only a train ride away and would love to know if it's worth going down to.

  87. If anyone sets up a "HUG" account, let us all know. I think it's a tremendous idea - we just need one brave soul to intiate it. I myself have never used flickr. Any takers?

Rod, disregard all the bickering today that people have posted. Silly, really. We all know that we were blessed, period. Let's all just say THANK YOU to Johnny for being such a sweet and thoughtful person. A true inspiration. I am forever grateful.

  88. Here is some info on the SAG/AFTRA talks....
    http://tinyurl.com/3l9lf3

And here is the most recent information that I can find....
    http://tinyurl.com/4o3c2r

As of now, SAG has not even called for a vote for a strike. I would think that it would be something in the minds of ALL who are currently working on ANY filming. Hence why I believe that Mr. Mann is wanting to have everything done by end of June. But who knows... Mr. Mann could have other reasons as well.
I personally hope that they are able to come a resolve before a strike is called... a strike is not fun for anyone involved.

    Hope this info was helpful!

  92. Anon 333- I don't think that when people say "I drove all the way here from XXX, Johnny better come out," that they mean they expect it or will be mad at him if he doesn't. It is just a figure of speech. It's like saying, I drove all the way to Lambeau field, the Packers better win this game today.

Don't worry-no one means to be nasty to you, they are just defending their desire to see Johnny.

  105. anon@5:10 - I don't believe they are filming at Union Station on Sunday - there are roads closed in a different part of Chicago for Sunday and Monday.

anon@5:22 - You give people too much credit. I've heard it said in a way that can be construed as they felt JD owed it to them to come out because they came all that way to see him. I know there are others who say it in a joking manner. I've been known to joke to my friends that "Johnny needs to get his cute butt out here soon!" My comment was in regards to the rude fans, which are few and far between, thank goodness.

Just wanted to say if we all truly enjoy our jobs we don't mind doing "overtime " ?
i.e.Johnny Depp meeting his fans after a 12 hour day of acting and being a genuine person as many of you were able to witness Tuesday and Wednesday.
Or JMB remembering Jenny and having fun with the fans at base camp also taking time to send us a message thruogh her blog? I think we all agree on that.
Forget the "haters" on iMdb Rod!

I went to Columbus to see JD, but got to see much more instead. Having a chance to see the filming and all the work it takes as I said earlier it will be hard for me to ever watch a movie the same way again.

  150. If I truly thought that posting where Johnny was flying too was going to put his life in danger or create some sort of hardship I would not have posted it.

As I said in my deleted post, I know that no one is going to go tearing off to Nassau to find Johnny. My point in all this, what does where Johnny going have to do with anything? Why is it necessary to post that information? It has nothing to do with filming and everything to do with Johnny Depp and that's not what this blog was supposed to be about, remember?

Documenting Johnny Depp's every move on his off time is not something that pertains to filming and is no one's business. That's the problem I have. You've been so adamant on both here and IMDb that your blog is about the filming process and not about the actors, yet posts like that are not filtered.

I'm sure the info that Inside Source is posting is not stuff they should be posting, hence posting it anonymously. Think about it for a minute - if you were JD, would you want your every move documented online? Wouldn't you find that a bit creepy and over the top?

    ReplyDelete

Plus IMDB? - I have not posted over their for a long long time.

I do understand what you are saying and you will notice that I did not mention where he was when he was at the Wilderness for a couple weeks.

I'm not saying anything that Entertainment Weekly would not post.

If Johnny was flying to a place where security was a factor I would not mention it. But a private island. His home would seem to be pretty secure.

What does concern me is your hand wringing about his welfare. You seem a little obsessed.

  156. Wow-- this place was busy on Thursday. I missed it all. Spent the day in the ER. I woke up with the room spinning. No I was not drinking :-) It was an inner-ear thing I guess. So, my poor movie star had to be awake for almost two days straight. He came back from an all-night shoot and had to take me to the hospital Thursday AM. Then he had to deal with the kids all evening. I was absolutely out of commission. So I guess you could say that the "stardom" hasn't gone to his head. :0)
He said they wrapped things up at Mirror Lake. So I guess this is the end of his movie-making, for now. . .Wednesday night/Thursday morning, he had fun playing dead. He said he had to lay still for 45 minutes straight. If I was him I would have fallen asleep.
When in Beaver Dam, people were getting his autograph. I'm so amused. Now, back to real life. Boo hoo. I guess I will still be the "movie star wife" unless I can come up with some unique new name. However, the movie hasn't even come out yet. Think I can milk it?? Hee Hee
    O.K. back to resting.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Ahh, yes, when you were so adamant that JD was nowhere near WI?

And IMDb? You last posted two days ago. That's hardly a long, long time.

Obsessed with JD's welfare? It has nothing to do with his welfare. It has to do with crossing the line between what is necessary information and what is not. I don't care if Inside Source said that Johnny had left WI. If you can give me a reasonable explanation as to why anyone needs to know where Johnny is flying to and from, we'll agree to disagree, but I won't mention it again.

And although I don't know the guy, I can pretty much guarantee that he would think it's pretty creepy that people are posting where he's flying to and from on a blog.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Movie star wife...get some rest! You'd have to check with Rod (the king of the world) but if I were you I would keep that name...in my book "once a movie star's wife..always a movie star's wife."

Speaking of that bobble-headed egomaniac.....Rod.....I have an idea. Why don't you invite the cranky anonymous posters to our paparazzi training session next weekend? It would be a nice gesture on your part....i just hope it wouldn't conflict with their team hand wringing practice or the SSOJJ meeting.

I am sure Johnny doesn't find this "creepy"..he knows that his life is broadcast, doen't mean he likes it, but he knows..
Now, I can see if Rod had posted something about his kids or pictures of his kids- yeah Johnny would hate that...but saying he flew somewhere- big deal.

If you don't like it, read some other blog.

  163. Rod: Who (especially you) would have guessed the amount of "notoriety" you would have gained by what you originally started to pen as your experience of being a movie extra? Look at the number of "fan girls & fan guys" you brought together and the wonderful friendships that have been forged over your blog.

I don't know for sure but I have a feeling I know who this nasty "privacy obsessed" anonymous person is and believe me ... it's absolutely nuts to waste another moment of your time even discussing it!

Thank you Rod - and everyone here for all you have done to bring the world closer to Johnny. Not everyone is able to be happy for the fortune of others.
