Heading North

Don't be fooled by the term "dust bunnies." They're not cuddly . . .they're vicious little bitches and if they get in your disk drives, God help you, they can bring your computer to its knees. They live their whole lives in corners hatching, defecating, and laying eggs.

------------------------------------------
The three CoCoRahas reporting stations in Oshkosh all were in the 5.5 inch of rain area. Columbus had about 2.25 inches of rain. Waukesha a little over 2 inches.

If we can find any highways open going north we will be on the road today.

So - with that said we're off to the vet to take the kittahs to there little vacation spot. We use to keep them at home but they were bad kittahs last time!

BUT - that is the past!

We're heading north for fun and laughter and no one can stop us (insert evil laugh).

talk to you later today from up nort!

EXTRA EXTRA

Well it is 7am, and I just got home from the PE filming. It was a closed set, all indoors last night into this morning. It took place in the penthouse apartment on Prospect. I arrived at 9:30pm, after battling torrential rain and lightning, and raced around to find some parking. The rain was blowing sideways when I got there, but it did not stop people from gathering across the street. I arrived just a little bit too late to see Johnny pull in, but I knew he was there since Jerry was hanging out by the road. Betty (my little shakes), and Tiffany met me down there just shortly after I arrived. It stopped raining at about 9:45, and stayed dry till 1:30am. The crew was busy bringing in lighting, and props. Michael Mann was just barely visible in the doorway, then disappeared for the rest of the filming. At about 1:15am, crew members came out to warn the crowd of an approaching severe thunderstorm, and said we should seek shelter. A HUGE thanks to Zack, and Jenny (whom we met last night) for leading us to an old Irish Pub just down the street. We rode out the storm till bar close, then headed back to the PE film site. It continued to rain for the next 4 hours, with no signs of life within the building.

Michael Mann reappeared at around 4:45am, and stood in front of us talking to some producers.
At about 5am, Jerry came out and told us the Johnny would come out and sign autographs shortly, and by 6am...there he was. It was at that moment that the rain suddenly stopped!! Johnny took his time going down the line and shaking hands, giving hugs, and signing autographs. Betty FINALLY got her machete cover autographed, and Jerry recognized her from Columbus. She got such a big grin on her face! Congrats Betty! (YEA BETTY rm)

We had a great time, met some great friends, and enjoyed the last night of PE filming in Milwaukee!!!

Sad to see them go, but it was a great ride!

  1. it wasn't my neighbors basement after all that was flooding...it was my own...water was coming in the window and I didn't see it.

  2. Osh,

I'm glad you are ok though. But I am not liking the timing of our basement flooding. That is eerie.

I hope everyone is safe and sound. I only had a tornado behind my apartment but luckily nothing happened. I'm going to go out and check out the neighborhood.

Be safe if your out and about.

  3. Osh, we can wallow in our water in the basement misery together. I don't have TONS in my basement, but there's a good 8-12 inches sitting in mine with nowhere to go.

I've never seen anything like what happened here last night.

  4. Hi all,
Sorry not to answer any of the posts yesterday. My power went out from 2-10 last night and my laptop was dead from the night before! We had a huge box elder go down right next to my car and my patio furniture was pick up and thrown in a circular sheet of wind. That's the same gust that toppled two semis on Hwy43 in Mukwonago.

Anyhow, that's nothing compared to what many of you are dealing with.

Osh, I hope you were able to stop the leaks before any damage. My sister in Appleton said they got 3-5". Another sis in Manitowoc had mudslides coming down the hill, covering the road in front of her house. They had to use snow plows to clear the highway of all of the mud....

Ducks transporting people in Baraboo! I love it...very resourceful!

Grinder, good luck heading north. Stay safe and enjoy your vacation!

One thing about the meet and greet with Johnny on Wed night/Thurs a.m.
I said someone brought her 5 year old. The weather was beautiful. We had a few sprinkles the previous evening, but not even enough for an umbrella. When we met JD, it was gorgeous weather...a few clouds but fine. Please don't think there were crazy parents doing anything to meet him. I know there were some comments on IMdb that insinuated that in Milwaukee.

Can't wait to hear if JD came out or if there even was filming...Blazn, Shaknbsis, Kendra,
    Becky....did any of you go???

    Happy Friday the 13th everyone...

  7. I just got back from taking one of my other kittehs to the vet...(kidney's are failing we think, this is not going to be a good day)

cars are still abandoned on the sides of the road in haphazard fashion...crazy...in 2001 there were trees down all over, I just don't recall this much water, ever.

Poor Scott...I didn't save his sword collection boxes. I thought I did good just buy unplugging stuffs and putting towels down!

luckily i was already changing careers....our building is trashed!

  10. YAY for betty! Thanks for correctingmy spelling mistakes Rod! LOL I was way to excited to send you an email!

I hope the flooding is better today for everyone.

Osh- I am so sorry to hear that you had some flooding by you, and that your kitty is sick. Let me know if I can help!

  11. oh J^P, I am so freaking sorry.

  12. I unfortunatly was not able to go last night because my dad wouldn't let me drive out in the storm. >:| i was pretty upset, at my dad and the weather.

those who went, did you hear any news about tonight?? or was last night the last night of filming??

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yes Vicky, could you please call JD, my BFF that you stole from me and ask him to come over and console me. And to bring Jerry?

    And, and, and...

    ReplyDelete
  14. Thanks for the pictures Vicky! I almost felt like I was there. Brought a smile to my face seeing the smiles on Jerry and JD's faces when greating everyone.

Osh - Sorry about your kitty and the water in the basement.

JP - I'm so sorry about all the problems you're having with the water.

Don't know if you all saw since I posted it on yesterdays blog that my aunt and uncle were evacuated from their house in Pardeeville. I wish Honey would check-in and let us know if she's ok.

DH and I were whining this morning because the truck I just interited from my dad won't start and saying we need vacations with all we've been dealing with, but seeing the situations others are in sure is a wake-up call as to how minor our problems are right now.

    Hugs to everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Kendra - they are done filming in Milwaukee...so sorry you couldn't go.

JP- Sorry about your building....I hope that things get back to normal for you soon.

Peg- I will call you later....I am sooooooo tired LOL

    Osh- Anything for you love!

    vicky

    ReplyDelete
  16. Congrats to Betty for the autograph and Jerry smiles....I wonder which means more to her. ;)

j^p, OMG! Is that your car too? Sooo sorry for the damage and clean-up you have ahead of you.

    :(

I'd be happy if it didn't rain again for a month! Ugh. Be safe in the flood, everyone. The water is laden with bacteria. The roads can be washed out. The water might be deeper than you think. Heads up!

I stayed home from the Milwaukee stuff last night because of the road/rain issues. Safe, but sorry here. :p

I'm staying home today too. Wishing everyone a speedy recovery from all of the water issues.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Tami- Glad I could make ya smile. it seems like with the weather latley...a smile is hard to come by. It was such a fun night despite the rain and t-storms in Milwaukee.

Ok...I'll see you later all....gotta go to SLEEP!

    vicky

  18. oh well, theres still columbus yet!

i'm so sorry to all those who have flooding in their homes. my best wishes to all of you.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Between the flooding and company coming for my daughter's dance recital-dancing appropriately to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"- I completely missed the Milwaukee filming. Are they done filming in Milwaukee now? If so, the meet and greets in my dreams will have to do. Good luck to everyone dealing with this crazy weather.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Kendra,

When are they coming back to C-bus? And do you think they could after all the flooding? I was under the assumption that they were done filming everything in less than 15 days.

    Who has the scoop?

    ReplyDelete
  21. well i've been in contact with one of the security guards and he said their coming back to columbus and mirror lake

    ReplyDelete
  22. Mirror Lake might be a little tough with all the damage up there.

I'll have to ask Matt, Eric, or Dustan what they know.

Thanks for the heads up :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. "well i've been in contact with one of the security guards and he said their coming back to columbus and mirror lake"

    WHAAAAATTTTTT?????!!!!!!

Ooooo, I'm so excited! Hopefully all the flooding doesn't mess that up.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'll ask the ones I talk to because usually MPI didn't know anything about what was going on. :) I think one of the standard jokes was don't ask Matt he won't know anyway :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. j^p, very sorry to hear of your flooding misfortunes. The pics were unimaginable.

osh, hope things start going better for you dearie. Hang in there!

Just an FYI to anyone who has lost furnishing, etc., in the flooding. I will be downsizing soon and would be willing to give things away to anyone who needs them; providing I actually have what's needed. We'd just have to make transporation arrangements. Can's tell you what I have available, it's a strange conglomeration of things. Just let me know what's needed and I'll see if I have it.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I wish Honey would check in too...

JP! Osh! Debsmad! Peg! and others - so sorry you've been hit now... (haven't seen your pics yet jp, going there next) My heart goes out to you all.

Robbi, Jenny - sorry about your insurance fiascos... ;(

So sorry to hear of sick/injured kitties (osh/dj) keep me posted!

Rod - heard on my way home this am that 90/39 was blocked all the way from 151 to the Dells! Be safe in detouring, and vacation well...

Special thanks to Vicky and Tiffany (and Zack and Jenny)! You guys made last night so very special ;)

  27. Here's a bit of info I "received" this past week from sources who will remain nameless...

Today PE is heading to Chicago, filming int/ext shots at the Gold Coast on La Salle in Chicago.
Next week, they will be filming the prison shots in Indiana (Michigan City and Indiana State Prison)

PE is on day 64 of 78. Haven't heard anything about heading back to Columbus...but then again, I didn't get to talk to Michael Mann. Oh wait, I did! On Tuesday, as he was passing by, I said "We're looking forward to this movie" and he waved.

By the way, I also told Jerry that the people in Columbus miss him. Thought you guys would appreciate that!

    Peg

    ReplyDelete
  28. "By the way, I also told Jerry that the people in Columbus miss him."

    THANKS! PEG!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Shakes,
I'm so glad that you finally got your autograph! I remember in C-bus when you asked him to sign it...guess the trip, the rain and the sleepless night was worth it. Wish I could've had the chance to chat with you!

    Next time.... :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Peg - I was jsut saying that to Vicky last night about you! Perhaps we'll get another chance to meet and chat ;)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Vicky and I talked about going to dinner sometime to exchange pics...maybe all three of us could meet somewhere in between???

    ReplyDelete
  32. shaken-
yay!! you got your machete sleeve signed! i remember the night i was there, and johnny wouldnt sign autographs..per jerrys request..
turns out that further down the line, he did sign....phooey!
glad you got your autograph finally!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Thanks for the shout out of missing Jerry :) I know I do. Shakes, I'm happy for you too! Maybe when you guys meet to swap photos I can crash your party and we can have our duel. Of course your weapon is way bigger than mine!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. My heart is out to all of you who are suffering from the horrible flooding. And thanks for the great stories from the PE filming and the JD meet and greets! They make great reading.

"Next week, they will be filming the prison shots in Indiana (Michigan City and Indiana State Prison)"

From what's been posted in various other places, they'll be filming scenes that took place at the Michigan City prison but the filming itself will be in Illinois at the Joliet and Streetville facilities.

There's a casting call for upscale extras for June 19 for a few days. That sounds more like the Gold Coast scene than does Lasalle (which isn't part of the Gold Coast area). Hmmmmm, I guess we'll see.

    Thanks again!

    - Former Badger

    ReplyDelete
  35. I stand corrected...sorry. That is what is being filmed. Statesville Haunted Prison® is near Joliet.
The shoot will be on LaSalle St. in Chicago.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thanks ladies, that sounds like a great idea!

Meagan! So nice to see you again. ;) I thought a lot about you and toadlessgirl and Robbi and Suz last night and our evening in the rain together in Columbus (right next to Peg and not knowing it!). Good luck with your classes!

    ReplyDelete
  37. So I missed Johnny this morning and I'm really upset about it... I'm 100% going to Chicago tonight... so the "Gold Coast" area? Lasalle St is that N Lasalle St? I'm going to mapquest some directions. So if it's a night shoot it would probably go 'til 4am or something like it did in Milwaukee right? Anyone else going??

    ReplyDelete
  38. 135 South LaSalle in Chicago

    ReplyDelete
  39. Really??? You are my hero!! That is for sure where they are filming? Are they there now? Do you know about what time it might be done? I know... I ask a LOT of questions huh? Thank you again SOOOO much!!!! =)

  40. Hey Becky,
I have a question about driving down there tonight too...could you email me? plmeddaugh at gmail dot com

  41. Tim Russert from "Meet the Press" just passed away this afternoon at the age of 58. How sad :(

  42. My lips have to be sealed +
    +++++++++++++++++++++

But before all the rumors start spreading,

PE WILL NOT BE BACK IN WI.

They will finish up in Chicago!!!

    Security Guards don't know sh**

There is talk of filming scenes that were to be done in other cities being re-created in Chicago.

Now if they can settle the actors strike, Michael may decide to shoot till next December LOL

    lips sealed ++++++++++

  43. Tim Russert? OMG, I LOVE HIM!
*adds to list of why June sucks.

  44. I hear ya Osh. What a shocker!! Our boy Keith got pretty choked up. June has been a downer so far.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  46. Agreed. The whole coverage is making me sad.

Is it July yet?? July has to be better right???

I was also at the M&G this morning with my mom and sisters! I am still delirious, but can't seem to resist going to the computer to see my new pics of Johnny! I think I may have a photo of someone in your group getting a hug from Johnny. I'm not sure if she was in your group, but she has dark hair and is wearing a white coat with purple trim. I would be happy to send you the photo! I loved reading about your adventure last night!

  69. Thanks everyone. Today has been depressing but i'm lucky. Ran into a neighbor who was walking down the middle of street crying because she had lost all her "memories"..pictures of her daughter, her wedding 53 years ago...stuff like that. I offered to try and help her scan some stuff if she can get them dry.

Two other neighbors had their water heaters replaced after the flooding Monday morning....only to need new ones again today after the flooding last night that was twice as bad.

The flooding is pain for me..but really....in the bigger picture i'm lucky. Thanks again everyone. I shoulda gone to Milwaukee last night....that would have been more fun! Except that Osh woulda been in my back seat.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I'm sorry to hear about your flooding JP :( It's definitely not fun!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Glad you all made it safely to your vacation spot, Rod!!
Seeing all of the flood pics is so
depressing; but let me tell you that it doesn't take a lot of water to creat a BIG mess!! We had a small amount of water come in our basement after last weekend's rains. We thought we had it all taken care of; dh dug out the front porch (we have a closet under it and that's where the problem was), sealed it and put in gravel and then refilled with dirt. We bought a dehumidifier to get the dampness out of the basement (this is where our daycare is too). Long story short, the water continued to come in and
followed the carpet and got under a wall. We had to take out the carpet (STUNK!!), tear out the wall between the playroom and the kitchen area in the daycare, remove the linoleum in the closet and the kitchen area. We have everything stacked in the laundry room and living area. IF/WHEN we can get everything thoroughly dried out we will put Dri Loc on the walls and start over.
So happy you got your autograph, Betty. And that the rest of you were able to get pics and autographs too. Sorry I couldn't have gone last night! It really would have made this mess much more manageable!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Keep Beaver Dam in your prayers. There are some storefronts below the dam that may not make it!! My son was downtown tonight and said that he could see some bricks shift one one building on S. Center street (with the naked eye). There are a couple of buildings whose footings were questionable before all of this flooding!!!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Were storming Jerry now? Oh boy.

I finally did some housework, much to the appreciation of my hubby. He just doesn't understand the fascination with PE, and JD. Thinks I am nuts. I told him that he has the Depp Effect!! He laughed pretty good after seeing Shakes post!

Sorry about all the flooding you guys are having. The water is receeding here in waukesha...thank goodness. Finally had the roads re opened this morning. I just hope that we can havea break from all these storms.

  82. Public Enemies is on Perez today! Insulting Johnny Depp =[ but cool all the same.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Insulting JD???? OH heck no!!! That is NOT allowed LOL

I just don't get these tabloid reporters....have they nothing better to do than this???

I mean, I don't know Johnny of course, but from what I have seen and heard....he is a very upstanding person who takes time for his fans.

    Perez can take a leap!

    Vicky

    ReplyDelete
  84. LOL Osh!

I will try to find out what's going on.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Perez is a douchebag. I hope we can say that here. DOUCEBAG.

    ReplyDelete
  86. That's just terrible! When I went to read the arctice....if you can call it that....it made me so angry! I HATE tabloids! He has no reason to even say what he did. It's just sad that there are people out there who live to make fun of others! I agree Osh...Perez is a douchbag (if we can say that...wait already did)

  87. Yesterday's Blog was great...
    Thank You!
Rod, DJ,Jenny&Josh glad you all got up there safely...
Hope you have a wonderful time...

I have been crazy busy still cleaning up the basement...
Scraping the foam off the floor is horrible...You use muscle's you never knew you had!

    On a bad note...
Cableman's truck is sick..not sure what it is..
And on top of that: The Adjuster called and told me nothing is covered from my flood.
Some how there are 9 exclusion's on water damage and there for i'm not covered...
Not even if the sump pump died..

But the Agent will be getting a call from me on Monday....
Someone is going to pay something for my loss....

Make sure you all read your policy's well.....
I never dreamed i was not covered..
I have the highest coverage and that does not mean a darn thing....

Girls that went down to Milwaukee!!!
So glad you got to see him and all.
    Pictures are awesome....
I'm jealous!! I wish I could have gone.
but the basement had to be done....

    Enjoy the day!!!!

  91. Helicopters flying over Columbus this morning. I suppose they are checking out the overall water levels. You can't get to Madison from Milwaukee on the interstate. They are re-routing down 43 to Beloit and back up to Madison that way. Yeesh!

Pray for lots of sunshine, and no rain! :) Have a great weekend, all!

  92. oh Robbi, I am so sorry. This kind of news makes me so sick to my tummy, I can only imagine what it is doing to yours.

  93. Has anyone heard from krisx & LHL? I saw a dumpster and tons and tons of things outside their home. I feel terrible for you! And JP, Osh, Robbi, everyone...

Shakes, I'm so glad you got that thing signed! Woo Hooooo! And I can't remember who had JD's lips brush her neck, but OMGosh!

Rick tried to take the kids to our little slice of heaven near Wautoma last night and came back after two hours of trying to find a viable route. It is hopefully getting better for everyone.

Happy BD, Anniversary, etc. to all and enjoy the sunshine. I hope to have a Shandy weekend myself.

  95. I went to the flag day parade in Appleton! It was so nice of them to celebrate my birthday that way...but totally not necessary!
And Rod I was just teasing when I told you NOT to post a blog on my bday...the fake story about a Door County Bike ride was a nice touch tho. (wink wink)
Hope everyone is enjoying the weather.

Thanks I feel I have been along on the ride for the whole PE thing. My hubby and others I have tried to explain about this experience to think I am super nuts too!! BUT I DON'T CARE :) I got to see filming, got a few pics. never got to JD up close but feel the same about him as those that did meet him-thanks for sharing y'all are generous and caring just like JD

  97. I'm sorry to hear your saga continues Robbi... ;(

I was wondering about Krisx and LHL as well...

and how about Honey? Anyone heard form her yet?

Just got back to Beloit from FT. Atkinson (racing with another storm) I did beat it and got here in time to shut some windows. Did also see a lot of standing water on the way. Beloit has begun sandbagging now. My Aunt is a block off of Turtle Creek and had water come up in the basement today for the first time. (I guess I'm going out to find a pump now...) It looks like some of your water is heading down this way...

  99. Shakes, glad you made it home safe!
After all the drama of the week, I spent the day in bed dreaming of Jerry and smoked hams. Hubby has a rare night off tonight, so in honor of J^Ps birthday I am going to cook a nice supper and shave my legs. Might as well give somebody a gift. (wink wink)
I wish Krisx and LHL would check in too!

  103. I want to mention I went to Madison today. Thanks for the directions. Went to the Historical museum and the capital. We took Hwy 151 all the way to Madison. We only passed one small section of high water in the road otherwise it was just flooded farm fields. It made me sad for all of you who had flooding. I live in Oshkosh in an apartment and I had no flooding issues except part of our parking lot was flooded. I feel for those of you with damage.

  104. I went to Chicago last night.. didn't get to see or meet Johnny, he pretty much left right after filming to go home for the weekend but it was still fun, they were shooting a resturant scene when Dillinger tell Billie he robs banks, they had cars going up and down the block to create the "street traffic" Also, after filming Marion walked RIGHT past me.. I didn't realize it was her 'til after she got in her car, one of the guys said "do you know who just walked by you?" I was like "I knew it!" UGH.. I wish I wasn't so sleepy but 4 days with 10-12 hours of sleep total will do that to you.

    ReplyDelete
  105. That's great you got to see some filming Becky. I heard Billie leaves the restaurant and gets into a cab? Did you see that? Bummer you didn't know who she was when she walked right by you. And I had a feeling Johnny would be too tired to come out. I myself am exhausted just following this schedule and going to the sets I can get to. But I will miss it when it's over.

  106. I just wasn't meant to meet and/or greet Johnny Depp. Ever.

Never posted before, but have been keeping up with you all since March 20th. You're quite the bunch!

Missed him on the 20th when I moved from behind the barrier on Water St. across from Jenny's house to IN FRONT of Jenny's house. This was the idea of a woman who asked the security guard "Can we stand over there?" I'd been standing on the corner for 2 hours, and missed him by 5 minutes when the crowd roared "JOHNNY". Had no idea he'd be on the RIGHT side of the SUV. Had to leave by 2:00 pm to pick up my father from his day care (he has Alzheimer's), so that day was shot.

Then was to go to Beaver Dam and Columbus one day a few weeks ago, but couldn't get ahold of the friend I needed to drive. Was supposed to rain that night and I'm night blind, specially in the rain. She stayed until after 4:00 am and got her 2nd photo with Johnny. You guys would die at these photos. Will ask if I can share.

Then I find out an acquaintance of my mother's lives directly across the street from the Poser mansion and saw him many, many times. Found this out AFTER the shooting. She never went out to meet him.

Wednesday I was bound and determined to get to Milwaukee. Made a reservation at the Knickerbocker Hotel right around the corner from Prospect on Juneau so I wouldn't have to drive back to Madison in the dark. Was expensive, but this way if it stormed or I got tired could walk back quickly. Had to pick up my mother from the nursing home that morning & take her home before heading east, and then spent 2 HOURS attempting to find my glasses. Never did find them. Drove without, as nothing was stopping me. Was legal, just stupid.

Missed the Historical Society shoot. All that was left when I finally arrived at 3:00 pm was the Escalade and 2 police cars on a flatbed truck. By the time I headed back to my vehicle, the Escalade was gone. Of course.

Settled in the hotel and walked over to the little rectangular park area on Prospect across from the condo. This was around 4:00 pm. To make a very long story short, Jerry came out about 3:00 am and said "What are you guys doing here?" Only about 20 of us at that time. Everyone else said they were waiting for Johnny. I told Jerry I was waiting for him. Laughter. Nope, Johnny isn't coming out tonight. He'll be out here tomorrow night. WHAT?????? But it's going to storm tomorrow night, and I can't stay over anyway! Was nice about it, but stern. Some girls gave him what I assume were birthday gifts to give Johnny and he parted.

Had been chatting with some of the crew all night (one was picking up chics). The one named Christian (think that was his name - short black pony tail) claimed he was going to talk to Johhny directly about coming down that morning since the weather would be bad Thursday evening. A tall black guy who was a painter decided to ride his bike past, video taping the group taking pictures of him. Was a nice guy. Showed us lots of shots he'd taken at the Indiana dunes.

At any rate, around 4:00 am, the woman I'd spent most of the evening with (along with her 14 year old daughter, husband and ex-husband) said "Is that him?" WHERE??? "Would he be wearing a brown vest and pants, and a white shirt?" "Is the girl dark haired?" YES!!!! They were walking from the entrance on the sidewalk to their SUV. One like the ones Michael Mann ride around in in Columbus. They've apparently switched vehicles. OK, so again, I missed him. She said he waved, but since I had no glasses and am night blind.......

Vicky, I hate you!!!!! Tears filled my eyes when I read your blog and saw the photos.

Of course I don't, but damn, I think they could have done a drive by, or had him stop out to see our little, sleepy group! The poor 14 year old had to be to school by 8:00, so doubt she had any sleep.

So, at 6:00 am I dragged my butt back to the hotel and TRIED to sleep for a couple of hours. Hard, as the maid came in at about 9:00. Oh, Michael Mann's motor home was parked near the hotel, with the door open, but I didn't stop to say Hi. Figured he was occupied.

Yes, I got to meet John Michael Bolger and Michael Bentt and see some cute crew guys and extras, but they aren't Mr. Depp:(

Would you believe I missed Christian in Madison, too? The same friend was able to take 3 fairly close photos, one being a headshot as he was signing autographs. Again, I'd had to pick up my Dad at day care. Nice vehicles photographed, again.

Must keep consoling myself with the fact that I met Robert Redford, twice, 10 years ago. Had my photo taken with him in Madison (lord, I have no idea how celebrities can handle the photographers 9 million flashes - freaked me out). Then met 8 other fans from the internet in Salt Lake to stay at Sundance for a few days. One of us did some cartooning for Redford's fan magazine, so we met with his assistant who gave us a tour of the resort, including "Bob's" office. Have a photo of me sitting at his desk! He met us all later and signed the photo of the 2 of us. As this man had been my teen crush (poster over the bed), felt like my dream had come true!

But now I like Johnny, too. Whaaaaah.

Have been renting Depp movies and will have to enjoy them in lieu of the real thing.

Please accept my condolences, all of you dealig with flooding. I had to take a detour from Johnson Creek to past Lake Mills Thursday, and then hit a sheet of rain in Dane County that forced me to stop. Remember - no glasses.

Madison had lots of street flooding and closures last weekend, but luckily it's improved. No, the golf course is still a lake. My sister's poor dog is petrified of storms and she has to give him tranquilizers almost every night.

Take care, you all. Think I'll have to visit Mom's friend in columbus one of these days and see the photos her brother took.

Unsure how to post my few pics, so will figure it out and get back tomorrow.

    Wow! Robert Redford... swoons...

  109. Jane from Madison- Aww I am sorry that you missed him. On the day in question when Jerry came out to tell everyone he was not coming....he actually did come out at 6:20 that morning to talk to the crowd. Sorry.

He came out the next morning too, which is when I got my pics. You will meet him someday. Go down to the Joliet filming. He might come out then.

Becky- thanks for the PE update! I could not go down to Chicago...I am soooo tired!

MARCELLA- Are you here hun? I have a question for you....were you the person tht posted pics of the biograph theatre, and JD from Beaver Dam in the brown suit?

If not, does anyone know who did. I want to use them for something, not selling it, just for my blog.

    Vicky
