Are We Survivors?????

At EXACTLY 11:00 (give or take a half hour) the bulb on our Mitsubishi WD-52631 HD TV burned out leaving the living room dark and scary and creating an emptiness in my well being.

I, of course mistakenly, blame Adubya for this as he is the one that talked me into this once outstanding TV. I mean, five color wheels instead of the typical three! Totally beautiful color . . . . until now.

So I was forced to contact Mitsubishi ("mitsu" meaning "three" and "hishi" meaning "water caltrop" . . .WTF? - also Mitsubishi was the manufacture of the Japanese Zero in WWII). Mitsubishi stands for "three water chestnuts"?

ANYWAY - it SEEMS the bulbs go out rather frequently since ordering one was so FREAKING easy. Only cost $250. Adubya (who had his bulb go out a few months ago) said they are easy to install.

Wonderful!

Remember HBO's biggest Bone Head Blunder show Deadwood? The greatest TV show ever until they canceled it with one episode to go? And then they PROMISED people there would be a final wrap-up movie? But it never happened? People were obsessed with that show, as much as the Sopranos. Totally screwed HBO watchers and I canceled HBO when they canceled Deadwood.

ANYWAY - there was a scene when Bullock and his wife were in their house watching "TV" but since there was no TV back then . . . .the chairs were in front of a window.

This is what my life has become.

=============================
Beer.

I have had some great success in beer lately. A Sassy cow Milk Stout that is great. A wonderful IPA which will become my FIRST house beer. A messed up Columbus Carriage Classic II that is mellowing out very nicely (I forgot 2 lbs of barley).

Here is a photo of my IPA. Mine is on the left (with a gulp out of it) and the beer I tried to imitate is on the right.

For Christmas I got a freakishly huge propane burner for doing full boils in the garage. All I need is a chiller now! My birthday is coming up in a month :-)

=====================================
Have a wonderful Tuesday - I think I saw a bird outside - EXCITEMENT!!

  1. lmao, Grinder...the picture of you in the chair with Milo scouting for birds is amazing in its depth and clarity of what your life has become.

    [sigh] I am wistful for the old days now...

  2. Grinder, I love the series Deadwood. It's really good. I love the little town also. So cute, and very historic. Nothing like where I live. All the buildings in the downtown are from the 1800's (original sin city). We were just there in July on our way to Yellowstone. I was there 18 years ago before all of the major casinos, don't remember too much since I was so young, but now I'm sure I will remember it with the almost 12,000 pictures that we took also.
    My boyfriends dad's tv bulb went out a couple of months ago also (I'm not sure which brand it is or how much they had to pay), but it came rather quick.

  3. Grinder you write 'Here is a photo of my IPA. Mine is on the left (with a gulp out of it) and the beer I tried to imitate is on the left.'

    It's obvious! Today, you have 100% of your life left.

    Just sit back in your chair, enjoy your vacation and repeat after Bob "I feel good, I feel great, I feel wonderful...I feel good, I feel great, I feel wonderful...."

    I saw and even HEARD a bird singing yesterday! I was like WTH??? Then I started yelling at it "GO away! You shouldn't be here...it's too cold!!!"

    It came to my attention...after yelling at the poor bird for 20 min ....that my nosy neighbor was watching me LMAO!! I must have looked a right sight!!
    I didn't mean to yell at it...I was more concerned about it freezing to death... I really hope spring DOES come soon!!
