RAW Madison wants me! - Trailer bonanza

Check this out.  I think the United States should watch this video very carefully and train their drones to catch Al qaeda.  Not unlike how the aliens picked up cowboys in the movie Aliens and Cowboys (which I watched and enjoyed - more on that after the video which way way cool . . . unless you are a fish).

Yea - I watched Aliens and Cowboys and I really liked it. It's not a world class movie but an excellent beer and pretzel flick. You can't take it seriously like Prometheus (more on that after Cowboys and Aliens).

And speaking of Prometheus - The director Ridley Scott has the #5 and #6 best space movies of all time (Alien and Blade Runner, also Gladiator, Thelma & Louise and Bridesmaids) - this one looks AMAZING. Very very secretive and most think it is the prequel to Alien without THAT alien. BTW - Why do we always want to look for alien races, why do we always think they will be friendly!

I mentioned yesterday that I was invited to show my work at something called RAW Madison.  I did a lot research and what this is is basically an MTV style art/fashion/music/film/hair/photography/performing art extravaganza at a nightclub.  $10 cover charge and according to Chicago Fashion Connect "Showcasing the hottest looks, bassiest beats or sickest art, this collective is driven by natural ab”  “Fashion, art and music converged” “This creative extravaganza is sure to be both amazing and action packed!...” “An event that combines Art, Music and Fashion in a fun and inspiring showcase of various talents.”

I think I'll have to buy a beret and a faded corduroy jacket, maybe some thick black glasses will help my ultra coolness.

I'll let you know when this all happens. They do this at the ultra cool Majestic Theater in Madison.

Interesting results from last night election.  Seems it was not actually Walker people were voting for. Exit polls said that it was the fact that people were against a recall just because of one side not liking policy.  I have to agree on that one a little.    Independents were way way on the anti-recall side and in another question Obama was the big winner with something like a 59-41 vote for Obama.

I've said this before but I'm not totally against some of Walkers policies, I just hate the man as a human being.  The left did take back the Senate so we have the gridlock I was hoping for.  Checks and balances is the key. I do not like it when one side, either side,  is in control.

Have a great Wednesday!
Rod

  1. You know, I think this vote shows that there are a LOT of people in Wisconsin that don't live in Milwaukee or Madison and they were really disgusted that the election in 2010 was disregarded and 18-20 million dollars were wasted to do this recall. That is why we vote in our country. If you don't agree with the results you take it to the voting booth at the NEXT election. I think it is unbelievable that people from the left side of this debate are sending DEATH threats to Gov Walker and his family. I wonder how you sleep at night knowing that this is how your side deal with differences. I think it is very sad.

  2. Weird - I spent all day talking to people in a civil tone, both sides breathing easier. The left disappointed but we tried. All we wanted was a non-corrupt government, that's all. If Walker would have told people his plans BEFORE he was elected there would not have been divide and conquer

Yet - you, even though you won want to through salt in the wound and belittle the losers. classy

I wonder you YOU sleep at night.

  3. And don't you see? This is exactly what Walker wanted - divide and conquer.

He KNEW that what he did would so infuriate the left that he would create a civil war. Former friends would fight. That is why I hate the MAN, not his policies.

He is the worst, most evil kind of human. The kind that creates anger out of happy people.

He himself said it, Divide and conquer. Well, he did it.

  4. What did Gov Walker do that was corrupt? Are you kidding...the "worst, most evil kind of human"? I think you should put things in perspective. Who were the ones interruping a special Olympic event dressed as zombies? Who were the ones desecrating the Capital building for months? Who are the ones spewing death threats? Just because the vote doesn't go the way you want it to, don't destroy a state. What do you think the last 16 months has done to divide this state. It's your kind of irrational HATRED that divides and conquers. Did you really want to run this state like Barrett has running Milwaukee? You really aren't looking at the future of this state, you are only looking at a selfish self interest.

  5. Both sides of this political divide contain fools. Violent threats have come from both sides; hatred and vilification have come from both sides, willful ignorance and misinformation have been touted by both sides. To not see the facts of this is disingenuous at best, and confirms that exploiting the politics of hatred, self-righteousness and division is evil but successful.
Congratulations to you, Rod, for being able to be part of civil discussions. This is the only way for a democratic republic to survive.
Because both sides do contain fools.

  6. I'm sorry but Rod is the one spewing "hate" words. If you consider that "civil" Mary you are delusional as well. What was the point of the recall? Just because you disagree with the majority vote you threw a temper tantrum, instead of waiting for the next election and voicing you concern. Is it so hard for you to believe that EVERYONE doesn't agree with you???

  7. So, If Walker decided that all abortions were now legal at any time. You are all right with that. Because that what you voted him to do?

If he decided that gay marriage wa now legal, that is fine with you because that what you voted him to do?

If he decided that out of the blue ant not telling anybody he decided that all government employees would take a 20% pay cut that is fine?

No worries, I guarantee Walker wil either be in Waupon in jail or No longer in Wisconson within 6 months.

    So all will be well.

  8. Wow, "unknown" not sure where you are coming from? The Governor (who ever it may be) can't make those decisions. By the way, why are you afraid to use your real name?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Because I'm on my iPad. And of couse he can make those decisions. All he has to do is talk to the senate and house and change the laws.

BTW. Republicans are starting a recall effort for District 21.

If Walker would have told Wisconsin what his REAL agenda was and Won. All this would not have happened.

I believe government should not be a secret. There should be discussion on both sides.

BTW. You do not HAVE to read this blog you know if it makes you angry.

  10. I'm not a bit angry. I can only wonder what this state could have positively done with that 18-20 million dollars wasted, as does the majority of the state's population. No, I am not angry, I am just so relieved. I hope Wisconsin can now move forward and become a better place for everyone to live.

  14. (Double posts above deleted)

    "delusional" "tempter tantrum" "selfish"

    Civility? Really?

Belittling those who disagree and diminishing them as only "people who don't live in Milwaukee or Madison" (Many people read this as code for "black people" and "drug-loving hippies.") Every comment Charlotte has made serves one goal: to show that her side is right and good, and any disagreeing side is made up of people who are wrong, foolish, and childish.

If that is how she sees the world, then no wonder she is so angry.

I know that's not true. I have friends and relatives who disagree with my political views, and that helps me to see that the other side does include some reasonable, thoughtful, smart humans... as well as the fools I mentioned in my first comment.

Rod's comments were about Walker. Charlotte, do you ever use these words to refer to President Obama, or Nancy Pelosi, or Michael Moore? My guess is you do, as you have few qualms about indicting any citizens who disagree with you. Rod's original comments were not about a non-politician.

Wisconsin cannot move on if a huge portion of the populace is dismissed, belittled, and ignored. I would feel-- have felt-- the same way no matter who is in the "minority."

And I am very, very sad to see voting Americans publicly mock and vilify anyone who has a different opinion (although we do have an American tradition of doing that with politicians themselves.) On either side. But yes, I am specifically referring to this "conversation."

  15. I think the silent majority spoke with their vote. Not once did I ignore, belittle or dismiss anyone. My complaint is using the political system to abuse the use of the recall. A recall should be used if there has been an illegal use of an office. This was not the case. It was used because some people were mad that the vote didn't go their way. This is abusing our political system. If this was the right way to operate there would be a recall after every vote we take. There will always be some that are not happy. I believe our country & state should act in a more mature way and respect the vote & voters, even if it doesn't go their way. I am surprised that you would even begin to suggest that my comments have any thing to do with "black people" or "drug-loving hippies". I have traveled & lived all over this country and the world and charish the fact that our country is made up of a large variety of people. Please don't try and analyse me. You don't know me at all. To say that I am "mocking" or "vilifying" anyone by stating my comments is quite interesting, seeing that you certainly have done exactly that to me.

  16. OK OK - everybody take a breath.

First of all - I agree with Charlotte and a Recall SHOULD be only be used for illegal use of an office. Walker became the County Executive of Milwaukee County through a recall, yet the far right was not angry THEN. What makes this different.

A Recall election is 100% legal and not abusing at all. If it was abusing there would be rules to stop it. Until new laws are passed it is not abuse.

Just like it was not abuse for 14 Senators to leave Wisconsin. It's within the law. That is why we have laws.

The only reason Walker won was not because people agreed with HIM, far from it, it was that people did not approve of the recall.

Fair enough. All of a sudden a Recall is a bad thing when it was a good thing just a few years ago.

You see what Walker has done though?

There have been 45 Governors of Wisconsin and while many people disagreed with each Governor we all worked together as one in a peaceful manner. We agreed to disagree.

Then Walker comes and his way is SO shameful, out of line and he totally repulses one side. He "divides and conquers, his words.

He has decided to make people like you, me, Mary all turn on each other. He does not WANT us to like each other.

I actually agree with many of his moves, I disagree with many of his moves, but what makes me SICK is how he has made the people of Wisconsin fight among each other, like you, like me, like Mary, like thousands and thousands of peaceful people.

Is that how you want leadership?

Is that what you are proud of? It's NOT the left hating the right, it's also the right hating the left.

HE did this to us! Divide and conquer.

Is that what you would want your child to grow up to be? Is he a role model?

  17. I see where you are coming from Rod. I don't agree with everything Walker has done but I don't think he wants everyone to hate each other. He has said he should have done some things differently but I think things had gotten so bad as far as our state's debt that hard choices had to be made to try and get us out of possible bankruptcy. Look at Illinois. They are on the brink. The teachers have just asked for a 30% increase in wages. How can they possibly sustain that? I hope we can heal and try and move forward. We have such a beautiful state and are so lucky that we live in this country. I also agree with you concerning the recall vote. I know there are probably a lot of people that voted for Walker, not because they like him but because they were absolutely fed up with the whole recall effort and what transpired in the last 16 months. I want you to know I am not gloating or trying to rub salt in the wound. I really just want to move on as I'm sure everyone else wants to as well. It is up to us all to not let anyone "divide and conquer". We have a choice to be above that. Thanks Rod for trying to calm down all of our frustrations. I guess we have to try and agree to disagree about the process but I think we can all agree to try to make Wisconsin better. Hope you have had a great weekend!
