 So I wake up today and see an article about something I have been wondering about for a week.  Why do I see all Russian tanks with their tops completely blown off. 

Fascinating so I go to post it on Facebook and I'm banned for 6 days.  WHY?

You think this has been a cold year?  remember 1996?  DJ and I do.  Worst spring in memory. We flew to Las Vegas to get married and landed to 100 degrees and it felt GREAT!! 

Here is a graph of above and below average temps the 100 days to June 9th and and the same prior (up to yesterday) for this year.  1996 people were really getting pissy about the weather.

We're going to the record store to see if they have an vinal of GHOST who we have fallen in love with.  What an amazing group with a huge range of music.  As one reviewer said you can't call this doom metal because the songs are so "bright".

GHOST a new almost favorite group

Not that kind of ghost that lived under our house in Fort Atkinson and not the REALLY REALLY good comedy on CBS?  But the devilishly weird 20s style big hair, hard rock, heavy metal, doom metal, pop rock, progressive rock, psychedelic rock band that both DJ and I have fallen in love with. 

Little did I know they won a Grammy with best metal performance and right now have the #1 album pretty much world wide. Appeared on Jimmy Kimmel last month and Colbert a few years ago and played to a sold out Fiserv Forum in February.

NOW - DO NOT LOOK AT THEM until you hear one song  LOL

. Kind of like watching a 60s horror movie with modern rock music as the backdrop. If I was a teenager now this band would be my 21st century replacement for KISS from my real teenage years of the 70s. Garish, macabre and probably very loud this is what rock and roll was always meant to be.

Meanwhile the other 7 members know as the Gang of Nameless Ghouls wear face concealing costumes. This is why I did not take them seriously at first gimmick???  But if they can back it up with REALLY good music . . .its worth it.

Dunder Mifflin - final thoughts on Colonoscopies - Pink Floyd NEW music

WHOO HOOO that is over - Colonoscopy's are so much fun. Actually they are not bad at all. If I had a choice I would rather have a colonoscopy then ANY dental procedure IF - they could take the drinking of a gallon of metallic water out of the equation.  AND WHAT A TRIP THAT IS!!!  

Seriously though the actual procedure is a piece of cake. In fact it's rather relaxing - no really!!  I have never been more comfy.  They tuck you in all nice and warm and then you "wake up".   

Then the weird part happens. I remember almost nothing from the post op wake up part.  DJ says a nurse talked about my tattoos and the doctor shook my hand complimenting on how clean I was and I ate a crap load of crackers and got I dressed . . . NOTHING - don't remember ANY of that. ZIP  NADA.   DJ says I inhaled 4 pacts of crackers and asked for more juice.  

One thing I did learn was put a few drops of concentrated lemon juice on my tongue and press it to the top of my mouth and then drink the metallic liquid.  OR the nurse said she has a life savor in her mouth.  

I tell ya though - the body is AMAZING.  The pressure of a firehose cannot compete with the pressure of that last half of gallon coming out  LOL  TOO MUCH?

Voted Tuesday and the Columbus Storm Water Utility which would save money for citizens was voted down.  I guess they WANT to pay for church's and big box stores storm water issues in property taxes which will cost 2% more rather then paying a little bit per month. 

Always good to borrow as opposed to paying a smaller amount now.  Many republicans LOVE to borrow hoping somebody else will pay their dues down the road.  Bunch of freeloading hypocrites that didn't vote for it.  I remember when they were the financially smart ones. I know a good number of NON "freeloading hypocrites", REAL Republicans that did vote for it. 

Oddly the ones that ACTUALLY understand how things work, the ones that loved Columbus enough to run for office, EVEN the right wing knew the Storm Water Utility was financially smart. 

BUT NOOOOOO.  $3 a month is way too much.

Farmers do NOT want rain now - drought is better in spring.  They need the seeds they plant to sprout roots that go DOWN for water not up. Top soil water makes for weak plants.

Arena Rock is a thing?

 So as I start my liquid  diet for The Event tomorrow at noon I might as well talk about a revelation DJ and I had yesterday while sipping (gulping) wine in our warm corner of our deck* 

So you might have heard we have a concert coming up in May in Chicago (Nightwish) and we have been exploring the "backup" band Beast in Black.  SHOCKING!!!  

We watched their #1 song (which is now constantly in my head) on your tube and our mouths dropped open and the first thing DJ says . . .  NO NO NO (you will see why in a bit). 

Beast in Black toured with Nightwish 2.5 years ago when they were last on tour and while the first song we ever SAW was SHOCKING they have a lot of good songs.  But here is the thing.

Pandora turned me on to a group called Battle Beast who have a number of good rockin song with a female lead.  Typical of Dutch bands.  Knowing that Nightwish music is classified as Symphonic metal, power metal, folk metal, gothic metal what was Beast in Black classified as,  well     Heavy metal, power metal, arena rock.

Arena Rock?  What is that?  "It's a style of rock music that originated in the mid-1970s. As hard rock bands and those playing a softer yet strident kind of pop rock became increasingly popular, groups began creating material inherently designed for large audiences, and arena rock developed from their use of more commercially oriented and radio-friendly sounds".

Nightwish is NOT radio friendly as most "songs" are 10 minute plus (like most of Metallica's REAL music).  Beast in Black? Totally Arena Rock.  

SO! back to Battle Beast - I was looking into Battle Beast, who are these guys, I see that this female artis is ACTUALLY Yannis Papadopoulos who quit and went to Beast in Black  AHHH HAAA! 

Without further ado  And don't be shocked.  It's a small club, not the normal 50,000-80,000 Nightwish typically play in front of.   The freaking song is stuck in my brain!!

NOW - you are saying OMG!!  They have a good number of "normal" songs but that one is a bit disconcerting.  

BTW - Nightwish's first concert in 2.5 years is later this month in front of a sold out 65,000 in Europe.  For us?  5,000 in Chicago with VIP seats.

OH - another genre'  Cock Rock  a genre of rock music that emphasizes an aggressive form of male sexuality. (see Led Zepplin)

 ** warm corner of our deck = we have a corner of our deck that faces south and when its sunny out with slight wind it is ALWAYS 20-25 degrees warmer then near the railing meaning when it's 30 degrees in February it 55 for us.  We have sat out there is short sleeves in February and perfectly happy. 

Of course when it's 80 degrees its 100 in the corner in summer (thus the cooler screened in porch)

OH - remember when the estimate of the estimate for the cabin at the very tip of Door county (on the squiggly Highway 1/2 mile from the ferry) came in $100,000 ABOVE what we thought?   Yea - well, that has been put on hold for a a year or two.  We will do the ground work and access road but no cabin until the economy calms down and we go into the coming recession.
