Heine Ride / Stock Market

I posted this last blog as it surprised even me!

++++++++++++++++++++++

My brother sold "our" house in Springfield ILL and are becoming permanent residences of Wisconsin again.  This does have Illinois medical card ramifications but those are pretty useless now anyway :-)

I mention this as we will have to go to Kewaunee to celebrate at some point and Sheboygan is almost on the way and burger curiosity will get me.

I was at Cercis Brewing yesterday and a woman said "Do you recognize me" and I of course said  "Oh Yea" as I tried desperately recognize her until she said "no you don't" and I said "no I don't".

She is the cook at MPs (I must have made an impression) and I told her I blogged about MPs burgers.  She is Sophia who cooks on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at MP's.  Maybe she recognized me because I was the first new customer MPs has had in the last 20 years?   KIDDING KIDDING!

*****************

And then there is THE STOCK MARKET - NO WORRIES We are testing support for the 5th time since 2011.  Support is ABOUT 2400 for this bull market.  The last test was the beginning of 2019

Don't worry - it will all come back . sometime.  Don't even ask how much we have "lost"  LOL

Of course this is all on the orange President who believes this is all political.   If he takes credit for all the market highs then he MUST take credit for market problems right?

Of course this is all caused by the Cronoavirus which the American government helped propagate.

Remember when Trump cut funding to the CDC forcing the CDC to cancel efforts to help China with it's infectious-disease threats?

And of course the complete elimination of the U.S. Pandemic Response Team in 2018 so that money could go towards The Wall.   EVEN THOUGH everybody warned him that America would be ill prepared for a pandemic.

So what did Trump do?  He gutted the the countries infectious disease defense infrastructure out of spite.  Who needs it right?  Tom Bossert called for a comprehensive bio-defense strategy against pandemics and biological attacks . . .and was fired for speaking such nonsense.

So much for National Security.  Who needs it.

What a freaking clusterf*ck the GOP has caused with America lives at stake.

My draft is going well

Pick #1 Tommy Edman (24) - a slick fielding EVERYTHING for the StL Cards - CRUSHES LHP and is slated to play full time at at least 7 positions for the Cards this year.   Mainly 3B and 2B

Pick #2 was a surprise as I got a solid #1 bullpen dude in Giovanny Gallegos. Last year AGAIN for the Cards he had a 2.31 ERA and a WHIP of 0.81.

14 picks to go.  I need more at 2B and two more in the  bullpen before I can start speculating.

Last years draft totally sucked because I lost two full time catchers 2 years ago and I spend way too many draft picks trying to fill Plate Appearances with catchers with 200 at bats because a a HUGE lack of catching in the Majors.

But looking at last years draft my last 3 picks #18, 19 and 20 are all playing large roles this year with #19 my starting 1B.  The rest of last years picks all sort of suck.

Who will be my next Cardinal to pick  LOL

I WANT Tyler Duffy (Minn) but that is 20 picks away  Maybe Marcus Walden (BOA)

The Columbus Wi Cycle Club is working with the city to get bike racks and we're TRYING to get a handle on Bike Wisconsin who are having a 3 day event in Columbus with 250-300 bicycle.  Problem is nobody knows who is in charge on the Columbus end.

Last week the cycle group met with The Tourist Commission. Sort of a meet and greet and how can we help each other.

SAGBRAW get here on Wednesday after a short 40 mile ride, stay overnight in Fireman's park. Thursday day rides to Trek and all around Columbus and then Friday ride to Wisconsin Dells.

And OF COURSE the 30th? Heine Ride YEAR 30 - Columbus to Minnesota Junction  with pizza and beer the 2nd Saturday in May.

Take 5 Oil Change / The Greyhound

JUST noticed  1,020,899  page views!!

Including 276 recently from Turkmenistan ????

This is a long one - take the weekend to read it LOL

Been working on something that will get a little more readership then this little blog - thus - the lack of blog this week.

+++++++++++++++++++++

I wanted to bet $1000 that there would be a mention of a Sheboygan burger place in the comments but I could not find a bet on Five Dimes.  Where is this mythical place?  Or a name?  :-)

********************

One year ago next week I made a wager of $10 that Joe Biden would win the Presidential Election at +315 (bet $10 to get $41.50 back or lose $10).   Pretty much wrote that one off a few weeks ago.  NOW it's once again in the realm of possibility.  A Biden bet now would be +160. A bet on Sanders is +1200.

Biden is -500 ( Bet $50 to get $60 back, or lose $50) to be the Democratic candidate,  Bernie is +450 and the last woman standing Tulsi Gabbard is +20000. ( Bet $10 on Tulsi and win $200,010 back or lose $10).   SWEET!!!

Five months ago I made a $5 wager that Liz Warren (my fav) would win the election at +350.  I wrote that one off.

Five years ago I bet $10 Clinton would win.  Well, she did win the popular vote . . . . . .but not the election.   NOBODY can say a woman can't win - remember  - she had more votes then grifter conman President Woman Groper.

Stacey Abrams is the favorite to be Bidens running mate   Tammy Baldwin is +450.

Speaking of primaries - This whole thing will be over before Wisconsin has a chance to vote. In fact the Democratic part will be over before April.  I can't see a path for Bernie now ESPECIALLY since the youth vote did not come out as expected, but even if they did Biden carries the black vote by a HUGE margin.    Florida with be Bernies death blow - MARK MY WORDS

QUOTE OF THE DAY comes from Mike Bloomberg - "in my businesses we have a saying - In God We Trust, everybody else, show me the data".

Looking for a fantastic oil change place?  I've been to MANY over 50 years and Take 5, across from Wal Mart is FANTASTIC.  Yea, ever hear that before for an oil change place?

I have mentioned that they FEEL like they hire x-military and I see on their web site that military and veterans get 25% off.   You never get out of your car.  You drive in, they hand you water and if you have dog doggie treats.  Then with military style they check and double check everything on your car . . . no I really do mean double check. It's quit a process.

The place WAS a fly infested shit hole last year when I went but new owners have really turned the corner.  BRAVO for an oil change where I leave NOT smelling like oil.

Here is a group that was at The Majestic a few year ago that I missed because  of a vacation - they are classified as   Symphonic metal, celtic metal, gothic metal.  The LEAST scary group of this style that I love.

ANYWAY - I'm trying to get my thought juices going with the above stuff nobody cares about.

A press release from Pence and the White House JUST told me that this Coronavirus thing is a political problem and NOT a real health issue.  It's all overblown and the President has told us all the statistics from around the world are fake and misleading.

Meanwhile the stock market is on a freaking yo-yo.  We had family that was going to visit us from Texas next week that canceled and might come up over the 4th of July . . . if we are not all zombies by then.

It's good to know that the guy that did not believe AIDS was a real thing in Indiana is in charge of the pandemic response team now.   It's also a good thing that all the people that have actual knowledge were fired and political friend and buddies were put in charge. with zero experience.

Congress passed a $8.5 billion funding to fight the fake virus. Trump wanted $2.5 Billion.  Only Rand Paul voted AGAINST the money.

WOW - anybody watching Survivor?  The latest challenge on Extinction Island left everybody crying from pain and exhaustion.  Even a cross fit trainer.   An 10 hour physical challenge left the group totally depleted.

GREAT season so far.

*******************

I took this as we were cleaning the refrigerator and it seems people were dissecting what we had in there. . . . so were we LOL

My knee has been a little bitch today with pain spikes that last 2 seconds.  hmmmmmmm   Still taking 4mg of prednisone and taking 1mg off a month so I'm still a few months away.

The GOAL is to make it through the summer.   I have Meloxicam that works GREAT so on my "off" days I take one and it works for a week. I've taken 3 in the last 4 months.   I golf on Wednesdays so I think I'll take one the morning.

BUT - some pinching style pain today sucks.  That whole bone on bone thing.  CT scan is in May.

Sophie is always ready to pose for a photo.

*******

Rookie Draft starts Sunday in Strat-o-matic - I get the 12th pick and am HOPING I can land Eduardo Escobar 3B.  But if not then Hanser Alberto is VERY tempting.  He plays for Baltimore, a horrible team so he will always get playing time AND no batter in the last 100 years that had 200+ At Batsand  hit lefties better with his .398 batting average.  BUT he sucks vs. RHP  and is a horrible fielder.

BUT I digress - so many things to consider.

****************

An average black bear, in a year, will leave 3500 pound of salmon carcass in the woods as they eat most of the fish but leave that much rotting which gives woods much needed nitrogen.  In fact 75% of the nitrogen needed in the woods come from salmon and herring.  But the woods get help from seagulls and birds that drop calcium rich shells of discarded shellfish.

Every thing works in unison . . .except for American politics

AND FINALLY - A new Tom Hanks movie that looks GREAT! (aren't that all? - no - A Hologram for the King - not that great)

WE WILL BRING HELL DOWN FROM ON HIGH!

MPs Town Tap - Best burger in town

WELL - If a man who stares at solar eclipses, thinks windmills cause cancer, wants to rake the forests to prevent forest fires and believes Americans flush their toilets 10 times to clear them can't save us from a global pandemic after firing the Governments entire Pandemic Response chain of command.

WHO CAN!!

Then we find out what most NORMAL people understand - refugees HELP America - yet the racist pussy grabbing handicap individual mocker President hid this . . . . .

A leaked federal study showing that refugees to America brought in $63 billion more in government revenues than they cost in the last 10 years was "banned" by the Trump administration.

TRUE

States with farming (Wisconsin) and tourism (Wisconsin) are begging for more help.  Door County is in desperate need for workers as they would fill jobs with teenagers from Europe.  We had made friends for a few years from workers from Belarus . . .  BUT NO MORE.  New restrictions and Door County and Wisconsin Dells will have to find other ways to fill thousands of jobs Americans don't want and can't fill and this was BEFORE the coronavirus.

MEANWHILE - my SOM Free Agent draft started today after a few days off because of manager issues.  Luckily there is a list of managers that want into our league.  We were called the Gold Standard LOL   I think only because we have been around a while (9th year).  Most leages fold after 3 or 4 years especially with 24 managers

So I did manage to get Verlandar ($59 for 3 years), Cole Hamels  ($58 - 2 years) and Kevan Plillar (who??  $20 - 2 years)  Pillar is a GREAT fielding full time CF that can't hit right handed pitching - HOWEVER - he has great power vs. left handing pitching AND plays in San Francisco in of the worst hitter parks in MLB.  He comes to my Cincinnati band box park.

I needed him because Trout and Yelich both only played 130 games which means I need 60 games to fill in and since both are not GREAT vs. LHP  . . . . he will fill in nicely.  PLUS I need 200 ABs at 1B and my LF can play there and Pillar can fill in in LF.

Now I wait for the rookie draft as I'm out of money. The rookie draft takes FOREVER!

Gus the Weather Dog is so sneaky!   He loves the warm weather on snow and we let him out and he wallows and plays in the snow.  Then he moves 10 feet farther away and we call GUS STOP.  And he stops, sits up perfect straight and said  I'S STOPZ! then lays down and stares at use for 10 minutes.  then gets up and moves 10 feet farther until GUS!

He will do this 5 or 6 or 7 times.  Always so he has a clear view of us.

We devised an ingenious Gus wall for outside chips

**********************************

This is a Mooya Burger which I believe is the very best chain burger on the planet.   HOWEVER . .

We were in Da Dells last week and ate at the REAL Monks . . not the fake Monks Sports bars in Madison but the REAL one with amazing burgers.  HOWEVER - I gotta say MP's Town Tap during the week (the female cook) is one of the best bar burgers I have had for a while.

Especially anywhere near Columbus.  Plus they fixed up the place more sports bar-ish without losing their local "dive" bar feel (not a dive bar though).  Bravo!!    And if you like soup - it is the place to go.

Always looking for good meat burgers (none of this veggie burger crap).

I have been warned!

Iggy
Did I mention I got violently ill Thursday night?    KFC!  (Thus no blog Friday morning)

I remember it well - 1:00 in the morning - but while I'm hugging the ceramic God for 5 hours  Iggy is next to me hurling a hair ball!   Us guys stick together.

I guess I won't have KFC for a while.
+++++
My buddy Elweed had epiphany if I may use that word wrongly.

THE FLU!   yea - he went down 9 days ago and of course no flu shot.  Could not afford it he said which would be true if it was not free at his Badger Care health provider but . . . . . .

NEVER AGAIN!  He has seen the light.  Saturday was his first day out of the house days and out of bed for 7.

So what did I do?  Brought him to Columbus and drank beer and smocked cigars all day.

It was an early day for him LOL   Perhaps to soon ??  :-)   At least we got 5 hours of sunlight on the deck with 65 degrees in the corner.

*****************************

We will have a great March.  We made it through an easy winter - I'm calling it!!  Any nightmare to come will be only a few days.  WE MADE IT!!!
