Pick 2 Liars - Bush, McCellan, Nat'l Enquirer

I'll skip the answer for the first two contestants but I will say if you guessed the Nat'l Enquirer you are correct.

The below photo first appeared on this blog and later I took it off once I found out it was going to be in the Nat'l Enquirer, the widely known joke rag that only people weak of mind take seriously.

When I told DJ about the photo that was going to appear she called it right on the money. She said "so, Johnny is going to have an affair with Marion?". Seems so. But the Enquirer is taken as seriously as The Onion who headline is "New Starbucks Opens In Rest Room Of Existing Starbucks".
--------------------------------------------
Speaking of photos here are my first two postcards from the Michelle Collection.

This one I just love. I know Michelle said it's not the greatest/sharpest photo but from my standpoint of creating postcards I think it has everything working for it.

I believe you do not need a beautiful photo on a postcard - you need something that draws you into the location, makes you look up at things and want to share the moment. I think this really "works".

I am creating some sort of web page for ordering postcards (my goal is eight cards total) with proceeds going to Michelle and I (not that much - honest). Neither of us are into the making money thing but this will help camera maintenance and so forth and help Columbus spread the word at the same time.
------------------------------------
I was reading "stuff" about " Sex In the City" and placed my wager on opening weekend box office going in the $43-$50 million mark (could go higher - most MALE estimates are for $40M).

I say MALE estimates because most of the people that make estimates are males and I believe they are underestimating woman on this one. This is a major event for females and non-straight film goers. The popularity has actually increased for the show since it stopped four long years ago.

Woman over 30 will make up the bulk of the audience but the must-see status will also bring in twenty somethings and late teens. This is a leave-your-husbands-behind movie and I will take you up on that!!

Have fun you girls!!!
---------------------------------------
In a bring you down moment - on this day in 1431 Joan of Arc, a peasant girl who became the savior of France, is burned at the stake for heresy (opinion contrary to the church).
----------------------------------------
Poker - one of our readers, Tiffany, who submitted some photos from Aurora has a boy friend participating in the World Series of Poker. Event #32 starts June 19th. Last years winners in this event (Robert Cheung) took home $619,728. SWEET!!!

I ALMOST went about eight years ago to the Main Event. I was on the final table with four players - winner going to Las Vegas when I hit the bottom side of a boat (Full House). ALL-IN! To bad the other guy had the higher boat! GONE!!

Good Luck Tiffay's boy friend!! His event will be televised starting July 29th.

BTW - Poker online is real tough right now - many college students are in transition between school and home summer life, leaving only sharks at the table for a month. Happens every year.
-------------------------------
And finally - Earthworms.

I was digging up where the Lavender USED to be in my clay garden and every shovel seemed to have a dozen earthworms in it. The ground was ripe with worms. I was afraid I was chopping them in half when I put the shovel in.

I could not decide if it was true that worms would regrow a part that was chopped. Was it something adults told kids just to screw with their mind? So since my gardens have SO MANY worms I investigated a little and found some interesting stuff about earthworms.

First - yes - they can replace or replicate lost segments - WHEW!

An estimate says that an acre of land can have between 53,000 to 250,000 earth worms.

We all know that earthworms improve soil by eating stuff and pooping out better stuff. But here is something I never thought of. They aerate the soil when they crawl through it and create drainage and air pockets, nothing new there, but by sliding through the little worm holes they act like pistons, pumping air in and out of the soil every 24 hours.

As for rainstorms and earthworms on the road and driveways - there are two theories.

One theory has the ground becoming so saturated with water that they might drown so they come to the surface. This is a problem because they can hit a dry spot, become stranded and die. This is why I always pick them up and put them in a garden.

OR a theory has it that after a storm worms may be using the moist conditions on the surface to travel more quickly than they can underground, thus colonizing new areas more quickly. Since the humidity is higher during and after rain, they do not become dehydrated.

It's a complicated life a worm has isn't it.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Last night Columbus had about 1 inch of rain - did you know that ONE acre with 1 inch of rain is equal to recieveing 27,154 gallons of water? That means in one square mile more then 17 millions gallons of water fall!

See ya later

  1. Love the postcards from Michelle!

Anybody have any thoughts on my last post from yesterday? i wil repost...

Maybe I am the only one...but we have all heard that Emilie De Ravin is playing Anna Patzke, the bank teller taken hostage in Racine, which was filmed in Oshkosh. However, the more reading I am doing of different books and newspapers, it turns out that the bank teller was named Ursula Patzke
    http://www.theweylands.com/racinebankroberry.html

In the book Dillinger the Untold Story by Girardin and Helmer, Anna Patzke is identified as the common law wife of Dr Loeser, who performed the plastic surgery on Dillinger.

I just thought I would pass this along.

Karen then confirmed for me that On pages 164 and 165 of Bryan Burrough's Public Enemies, he uses the Anna Patzke name to ID the teller too.

And what made me stop and think was the newspaper article that came from Columbus, I think that said "Dilinger was greeted at the door by Anna Patzke" filmed at the Poser house...which made me wonder if it was part of the surgery scene maybe being filmed? Pure speculation on my part.

I'm just throwing stuff out there...

    ReplyDelete
  2. Lol....
    Game on!

And "just throwing stuff out there".....like your drawers?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Michelle's pics always amaze me!! She is such a talented photographer with an incredible eye!

Thanks Rod for the education on the worms.... who knew?

The NE is a total RAG Mag... and anyone that believes ANYTHING they say seriously needs their heads examined... better yet, I have some pics of 3-headed aliens that are looking for idiot humans to take back their planet for labotomies! =0P

    ReplyDelete
  4. Osh... havent read any books about Dillinger, so I have no clue... but here's a thought.... could Anna and Ursula be related? or in fact the same person (ie, her middle name)
Just throwing my skivies out there!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Minxie I doubt that the bank teller Dillinger took hostage would be the same person that was "friendly" with his plastic surgeon...This is just as small example of my OCDish ways...the other of course being double stitched shirts and dimple continuity.

J^P, I wrote a nice blog about you! I didn't say a word about your lack of underpanties!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Michelle - Outstanding!

Very interesting Osh! I wonder if Minxie might be onto something? I remember when doing some geneology research on my family back in that timeframe I ran into a lot of confusion, no one seemed to be going by their real names.

    Anyone in Classic Car withdrawal?
This weekend (Sunday) is Model A Days in Sharon, WI another tiny Main Street community. They also have a great ice cream shop! = )

  7. I have to say, I like minxie's theory. (And prob her drink recipes also, but haven't opened my email yet. THANKS, minxie!) Perhaps, it is the same person and Dillinger and she were in cahoots. Meaning, a fake hostage that you let go later and share the bootie with. Stranger things have happened.

    ReplyDelete
  8. actually, what I think it was is Bryan Burrough got his facts wrong. In looking at the old newspapers the bank hostage is clearly Ursula Patzke.
Anna Patzke was the common law wife of Dr Loeser in Chicago.

  9. Osh, your last bit about a possible plastic surgery scene being shot @ the Poser house would make sense. I can't think of any other reason he would be greeted at the door by Anna Patzke (unless of course the newspaper reporter just has it wrong) There could conceivably be 2 AP's but why use Emilie to film both unless they are atating they are one and the same individual? Lot's of mystery to unravel = ) love it!

    ReplyDelete
  10. HEY! No one ever told me that the NE; and the Onion, for that matter; was not a reputable news publication! When did that happen?

  11. Lotus... that is the effects of rum! You think everything is real and you can scale buildings too!

  13. BB is certainly not infallible, but I don't think I'd jump there first. I thought his research was pretty amazing. It is certainly intriguing though = )

I just brought momma home from the vet and am a little afraid to leave her alone. She seems quite agitated. I guess no pain meds for kitty's = ( She has sutures in because her belly was still so big, from the babies I guess, she's really a tiny cat. She was biting a bit at her sutures, but seems to have quit that for now. I'd feel better about leaving if she would drift off to sleep...

any reasonable hope of this happening anytime soon?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Betty, I missed my true calling as a Professional Information Gatherer AKA CSI person because I was raising Evan to be all that he is...lol

    ReplyDelete
  15. oooh... I do love a mystery Osh! = ) Very tempted to get into it now, research wise, but dang it, I gotta go out and earn a living. Drat!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. that's funny Osh, I've always had a secret yearning to be a fornsics investigator, or even a coroner...

    ReplyDelete
  17. when my girls had their surgeries I didn't leave them...I kept the other cats away...does she seem interested in her kittehs?
Dillinger is ALL OVER me today. Will not leave me alone. Evan came home this morning and Dill ran to him and promptly fell asleep on his head, and then woke up and came to attack my head. He really lilkes to sleep on our heads. And climb up my husbands legs!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Betty, we could open a business! J^P could take the crime scene photos!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Shakenbsis... as long as momma doesnt pull out the sutures, she should be ok.... I am sure she is uncomfortable... poor kitteh. Do you have a crate you can put her in? Or maybe a bathroom?

Osh... the Anna/Ursula is very interesting indeed....let us know what you find out.

    ReplyDelete
  20. That's probably all the encouragement I need to stay with her, but then I have the kittens to worry about and no other room in which to contain them to keep my old lady cat from flipping out!
Right now they are in the Kitchen in their carrier waiting to go to work with me to let mom alone.
Mom jsut seems to wan tot get out of the room she's in! I feel like I need to be 2 or 3 people right now!

The vet told me to keep the kittens away from her... (for like 5 days! help!)

    ReplyDelete
  21. oh, I wish I could help you. But under penalty of divorce I really can't this time around.

    ReplyDelete
  22. thanks Minxie, the crate won't work for her it signifies a car trip which is a recent trauma for her! = )

Now the bathroom is a possibility but he door won't stay latched except from the inside.

Maybe I can find another lock in some junk drawer... she might like the bathroom because the floor is cooler in there.

    ReplyDelete
  23. As for crime scene photos...i am willing to give it a try.

My specialty tho is shooting through second floor really dirty windows......

I hope the cat drama settles down for you shaken :)

  24. Christmas Music.

If any of you have GOOD non-traditional Christmas Music let me know - there is a lot out there that we can find on iTunes.

Greg Lake - I Believe in Father Christmas.

Jethro Tull - A Christmas Song

    ReplyDelete
  25. There was no plastic surgery scene filmed at the Poser mansion. Emilie was not there. The actress greeting JD was Kerry Mulligan, who with a bleached blonde bob, bears some resemblance to Emilie:)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Rod,
Might i suggest Run Dmc's classic
    "Christmas in Hollis".....
    lol..good stuff!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Shakebsis... can you "tie" the BR door closed?

If the kittens are going with you to work, momma should be ok... your older kitteh prolly wont mess with her.... momma will prolly just want to find a nice dark place to lay down....
In my experience, when animals hurt from being fixed, they will find a dark, secluded place to hide until they feel better....
I wish I was closer to help you out....

    ReplyDelete
  28. Ok Rod... what kind of rum are you drinking? Christmas songs in May? LOL.... a little early dont cha think? =0P

    ReplyDelete
  29. Sorry osh, didn't mean that literally!

Ok, gotta run back to the vet for a collar or something she's at her sutures in earnest now, may actually have done a little tearing. = (

    Calgon, take me away!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. One of my favs is "Santa Baby" by Eartha Kitt

    ReplyDelete
  31. Shake ~ a collar would help... maybe ask them if they can or have put "liquid sutures" on her wound site.... its like super glue and will help keep them closed....
*crosses fingers* I hope all is well.

  32. When I ran into movie star's wife's husband, Mike, while they were filming at the Poser house I got to take pics of the script that day. It had nothing to do with any plastic surgery. Just a lot of flirting with the girls and talking in the garage about obtaining some different cars. Mike, said that an 'extra' girl got to say one word "sport" and she got an extra $758 for that day. No word about any plastic surgery in the kitchen.

    ReplyDelete
  33. INTERESTING blog today, Rod!! :)

Jenny-quite welcome, I was on a mission to clear a few things from my "to-do" list and needed the cd's I burned for you and my other friend to be at their new homes. ;)

Have a great day, all. Enjoy a beer for me at Kurth's. :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh yeah, I'm supposed to tell the story of Christian Bale requesting a famous Wisconsin brat at 3 in the morning in Mirror Lake. I guess Mike, movies stars wife, got squirted in the face with brat juice from CB eating it.

Oh yes, and Stephen Dorff stole the picture I had printed of him to autograph and so he signed a picture of Johnny Depp instead. He said he's 'collecting pics of himself' on the set in wardrobe. He asked me to go home and bring back all the pics I have of him, I said I'll email them instead.
If anyone has a good pic of SD please forward them to me and I will email them to that narcissistic Stephen.

    ReplyDelete
  35. thanks y'all for clearing up the idea of no plastic surgery being filmed at the Poser...the flipping of the Patzke's still remains a mystery for now though...

  37. Rod, are you one of US? The weird people who listen to Christmas music in the middle of summer? I don't know what it is, but when June and July come around I HAVE to dig out my Xmas music and give it a whirl! Maybe that is my stress release from driving up north in the midst of all the FIPS! Dunno.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Or, maybe like minxie says, it is the side effects of the rum! Well, that and believing in the NE news.

  39. Not sure if there will be a turnout at the Kurth tonight.

Maybe take a week off. DJ is getting better from round two of The Cold and others can not make it.

Rod - Why r u looking for Christmas Music???

Rob - I have some Dorff pics I'll send you tonight.

Was anyone planning on coming to Kurth's tonight??? Cuz I'm not showing up if no one else is. I should really go work out instead. I have been eating like a heffer the past couple days :P

  44. HEY - I'll have some PE news tomorrow - there IS hope!

    All I'm going to say!

lotus - if it is rock Christmas yet - I think Greg Lake (of Emerson, Lake & Palmer) is great!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I got the collar. She was quite resistant at first, but the car ride was much worse. By now it's a full-on terror of getting in the car. = (

    Taking a breather...

Two kittens in one BR, One old schizo cat in the other and momma in the bathroom with a heavy ladder against door (no can tie, opens out!) Whew... at least her stitches are safe for now, after she rests I'll bring in food and litterbox. I stopepd at good will and picked up a couple of onesies, I wonder if she'ss wear a shirt easier than the collar. Something totry tomorrow maybe.

    Thanks all for your counsel!!
(now where did lotus put the rum?)

    ReplyDelete
  48. seriously though, same thing with nearly all of my gparents = )

    ReplyDelete
  49. Dear shakenbsis, your heart and generosity are a marvel.

The car-flattened kitten that was to become ours absolutely freaked the first few days she was home, probably due to the fentanyl patch she was wearing. It scared the heck out of us, watching a kitty with three pins in her body and bandages covering both rear legs up to her hip, yowling and trying to violently flip herself to and fro. She did injure a paw in the process, but luckily nothing worse. Our vet said that with pain meds, it's never a certainty how an animal will react... so perhaps the meds Mom is on are the reason she's agitated. Good news is, this will all go away in a day or several. Collars are awesome.

Try this: can you put a small nail in the bathroom's side door frame, on the same level as the inside latch hardware? Then you can take a thick rubber band and loop it around hardware and nail, from the outside. Properly done, this should allow you to push the door open enough to remove the rubber band when you need to enter, but it'll be too strong for Mom to push or pull.

Shaken ~ Glad to hear you and momma are back home.... I hope she calms down a little... How about some rum in her milk? (ha ha ... just kidding)

Rod.... you're such a tease! LOL

  51. Rod-- ELP fan, or just Lake? If the former, you'd get an immense kick out of Keith Emerson's book "Pictures of an Exhibitionist." Guy's a card, who knew. But let's just say that Lake doesn't come off too well in that book!

Speaking of ELP, that was one of the few times I've been party to "stalker" behavior. My boyfriend wanted to follow Carl Palmer back to the hotel, just for the heck of it I guess. We bumped into Palmer in the lobby, and he just looked confused.

s'bsis, sorry, I was writing my post while you were posting about your door... so my idea may not work... but you have a ladder. Yes. One should never underestimate s'bsis' ability to Figure Something Out.

dj-- I had a May like this too, once. Hope you're better soon!

  53. I found out that they are installing a high-tension cable guard in the median of HWY 151 in Sun Prairie. These cable guards are high-tension systems that are installed just outside of the gravel shoulder along the left lane of traffic. The cable guard acts as a barrier for vehicles that travel onto the gravel shoulder, preventing them from crossing over and hitting oncoming traffic. Upon impact, the cables direct the vehicle towards its original traffic lane while quickly reducing speed until the vehicle is safely stopped on the shoulder. In the winter the HWY can get pretty icy and alot of cars end up in the median, so I guess they thought this would help.

  64. We listen to Ringo Starr's Christmas CD, and a Starbucks mix. And don't forget Elvis.

I'm starting Dillinger: the Untold Story and I can't wait to read it. I have just finished the book written by Nash on Dillinger from 1969 - very interesting. This book supports the theory that they killed a Dillinger imposter, decoy of sorts. Hmmmm. I don't know if I buy that, but it's something to think about.

Shakes, I hope Mama is OK. I missed what happened to her? And Mary, do you have one of those cats, too?

I can't believe the NE is still in business; who buys that crap? I guess if there are Bush voters, there will be NE readers. This is coming from a registered Republican.

OK, I think I might actually be able to muster enough energy today to go to Kurth, and nobody wil be there? Ya snooze ya looze - shoulda went the last ten times when the party was going on. Darn, my loss. I'll be there with my DH so don't worry, I won't be a lonely bar fly.

  65. Kathy, our new kitty was a feral, but had been trying to adopt us for months. Tiny-- the runt of her litter-- but sweet and brave. We had 3 inside already, so we did our best; 2 months ago we had her spayed, but the day she was let back outside, she got slammed. I found her the next day. 82. Rod, I'm crazed to hear your PE news! In honor of your blog content today, I have a worm on my tongue. aka: I'm waiting with baited breath. :)

  83. Awww man...I'm gonna miss the PE news! I have to go to a veterinary conference tomorrow thru Sunday up in Appleton. UGh.

Rod- secretly email it to me tonight LOL.

Shakenbis- Glad to hear mom is ok. SOunds like you got some pretty good advice from e1 on what to do. It's VERY important not to let her get at her sutures. Cats can pull them out in a matter of seconds.....then you have a whole new set of problems :(

Have fun at the Kurth tonight.

Minxie- Glad you like the cheese curds. Are they the deep fried ones, or just plain.

  84. Evening Vicky...
I didnt get the battered ones.... figured I could batter them myself. Got 4 different flavors... are the flavored ones not supposed to squeak? Cuz Cajun dont squeak....LOL...

    ReplyDelete
  85. minxie, I think maybe the cajun flavored don't squeak because they are not as fresh. All curds lose their squeak after about a day, I think. Cajun might not sell as well here because I think people hear cajun and think spicy. Therefor, may not get sold as fast. Still good though; just don't squeak

Do you have any Polynesian or Korean restaurants in your area? I miss them both!

    ReplyDelete
  86. I wish there were a Tacobell in Columbus

    ReplyDelete
  87. Bummer about the squeak in the cajun.... what about the other flavors, will they not squeak either?

Yes, there are several polynesian and korean restaurants around.... Hawaiin Henry's is one of my favs!

Taco Bell is a fav fast food.... although they are getting harder to find... most of ours are now inside the Walmarts....

  88. I noticed by my last post that I think too much! I've often been told this, but I think I've ignored it. :)

minxie, was it the yellow batch of curds that squeaked? If so, that is prob the one that sells fastest. Remember that and order those from that same place from now on, if you want the squeak. I do think it is the best seller, all in all, so doesn't stay on shelf long. Therefor, freshest!

  89. J^P, holding Dillinger hostage in your dresser is not funny. I don't have any money to pay the ransom! NE didn't buy my pictures!

  90. I envy you, minxie! I love Korean food; esp Bulgogi and Kimchee. Ummmm. And I haven't been in a Polynesian restaurant in 31 years, but remember loving it!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Cute picture osh & funny cat! Dillinger is a little minx! BTW, I hear Marion is loose in your area so hide Dillinger!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Lotus, I fear JP stole my kitteh and took that picture...he is demanding 1 million dollars for the safe return! And total world domination!

    ReplyDelete
  93. osh, HOLD ON!!! I'M COMING!!! With my BFF Big Fat Bastard, who will save your kitteh from j^p, but really can't help with the world domination thing. When BFB saves Dillinger, you have to GET OUT QUICK! BBF is a Hermit Crab and doesn't move all that fast, unless he's going sideways. Then he breaks wind!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Ooops, BBF should be BFB, aka: Big Fat Bastard. (The rum is getting to me!)

    ReplyDelete
  95. No orange curd.... white only. They are in a vacuum sealed package... supposed to stay fresh longer until opened.....

I havent have Korean food in FOREVER!!! Oh, and I should correct... its Honolulu Harry's! And that is without a drop of rum! ;)

Osh.. I fear that Dillinger might be doomed if he is in JP underwear.... =0P

  96. OMG Jenny I was thinking the same thing. I live in Fall River and I am dying for Taco Bell! Hey Rod did you ever win that charity auction with Johnny Depp LOL!! Can't wait for the PE News!!

  97. I honestly thought the NE article was a joke for a good 5 minutes. Gotta hand it Michael Glynn for his creativity, he sure did manage to squeeze a lot of scandal out of nothing!

I wonder what "man-hungry" Marion going to do next year when she films a second movie with Guillaume Canet--steal him away from...herself? ;) (Total sidenote, but their first movie, Love me if you Dare/Jeux D'Enfants is a very interesting and innovative romantic comedy and I'd recommend it--after the amazing La Vie en Rose, of course--to anyone who wants to see more of Marion's work.)

  98. Thanks Rod for wishing my boyfriend good luck in the World Series of Poker. His name is Mitch, and he said he will probably be wearing a Brett Favre jersey, if anyone wants to watch him. He will also be wearing a Syracuse hat(favorite college team).

I do believe his event is actually starting on June 17.

I have never left my name before, as no one knows who I am, but I have read this blog every day and have even made comments. I feel like I know everyone. You are all wonderful.

  99. Back from dinner. Minxie the yellow curds are the best ones in my opinion....then the white ones. They are sooooooo good when deep fried too!!

Did anyone else see that they were holding casting calls in Joliet, Illinois this past week? I just saw an ad posted on johnnydeppreads that gave a little blurb about it. They were looking for people to play convicts for PE. Said broken noses, and scars a plus. I thought they had already cast everyone. Maybe it's a hoax.

  100. hmmm, I have had my nose broken before...or should I break my hubby's nose now for the movie? But he is almost a good foot taller than JD so that won't work...

Pee Wee Dillinger update...we have had him a week now...he for sure knows his name...he loves people, loves to climb people...runs at a very high speed when called, trips over his front feet and arrives butt first. And he climbed my sheers this evening. I was not happy. He is too little for Soft Paws...

    ReplyDelete
  101. Awwww he sounds like a great kitty!

Do you have scratching posts for him? If he is clawing things up...the best way to get him to stop is this:
1.) Keep his nails nice and trim
2.) Use a scratching post. If he is clawing up your drapes, pull him off and put his little paws right on the scratching post. I have also used catnip in the past to attract my cat to the post.
3.) Put the post closer to the area where he is doing any damage.
4.) This may sound terrible but I had a cat that just would not stop scratching things up. I eventually had to get a little spray bottle with plain water in it and gave her a little squirt each time she did it. (I hid from her, so she never saw wwhere the water came from) After about 1 week she stopped doing it.

Just some ideas for ya! Soft paws can be tricky to use. Make sure that if you choose to use them when he is older that you trim his nails first ( I think thats what your supposed to do) and change them often...since the nails still grow underneath :)

    Good luck!!

    vicky

    ReplyDelete
  102. Vicky, I have trimmed his nails 3 times already! All my other kittehs are declawed, I was going to try the soft paw route with this one since there is so much controversy about declawing now...he isn't scratching per se, just climbing and trying to be king of the jungle...

    ReplyDelete
  103. Hee hee....sounds like he is being a monkey cat! LOL. I have one of those. I don't like declawing either, but sometimes it is unavoidable. Soft paws is not a bad way to go once he is older. I may have to try that as well with one of my cats. She is too old to get declawed now, and I don't think i would do it anyway.

Kittens are so much fun!! He is definatley going to live up to the Dillinger name!!

  104. Love the postcards today Rod, especially the first one. Can't wait for the PE news tomarrow. They mentioned them on the radio today, nothing exciting or new however. I knew more then them for the most part. However they did mention the crowds today were larger then last week, and there had been CB sightings however none of JD "yet". This was this morning...

Hoping they are filming in Joliet, maybe it will be smaller and there will be a chance of a meet and greet? haha... just wishful thinking...

Hopefully all the excitement will take place AFTER I get back from the Caribbean on the 12th.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Forgot to mention... can't believe what NE said!

    ReplyDelete
  106. Vicky.... sadly they only had white cheddar... no yellow. :(
But they are still yummy and VERY squeaky!!!

What is "soft paw" not familiar with that one? I have used the bottle routine before... it is effective and humane. I have also used a "shaker can" (an old soda can filled with beans or small pebbles) You shake it at them when they are being naughty....

Yes, I did see the Joliet casting call.... sounds interesting to say the least....

    ReplyDelete
  107. Soft paws are little caps that you glue onto cats nails, and change them every few weeks. They are supposed to be humane, but I have never used them.

Minxie - glad you liked the cheese curds.....the greasier the better LOL!

I'm sad that Im gonna miss the PE news. Guess I will get it on sunday when I get back!

Have a good weekend all! I'm off to Appleton! Good night!

  108. Vicky.... enjoy your weekend of conferences.

Thanks for the info about the soft paw... interesting concept.....

Cheese curds are catching on in Cali.... :) So far they are a HIT!!!

    ReplyDelete
  109. I'm still waiting for the million dollars......
    :)

    ReplyDelete
  110. lol, they cannot really mean that serious. Are they really think people believe that? OK, maybe people do who don't know Johnny. How sad.

Rod, isn't it possible to take the innocent kids out of that scan? Johnny doesn't want people to make photos of his kids and especially not to display them anywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Hi Tiffany! Nice to 'meet' you.

Minxie - glad you like the curds! I like the white and yellow, but fried I prefer the yellow...

Osh! Yes, Little D is quite the climber, this whole litter are, it's quite amazing. I haven't seen any of them scratch at anything for scratchings sake, but they sure cna climb! (nice pic in the undie drawer!) Has little D lost his blue eyes yet or is that a camera trick?

Vicky -sorry I missed you, I'd have picked your brain some more... The collar is working well, she hates it but seems resigned at this point. She is eating well though. Have you heard of Dr. M. Sokhey? I hear he is quite famous in veterinary circles. Used to practice in Chicago, now we have him in Beloit. Quite the cutting edge surgeon from what I understand. I can't afford to go there, but one of my bosses sprang for the surgery. Dr. Sokhey said he had to put in three layers of sutures since her belly was so big from giving birth. Poor baby, she really is a tiny kitty. Oh, the collar is really helping to keep hre jumping down as well, before she was so anxious and kept jumping up and down of of everything, at least now she is a little less active and gettign more rest. Had to take the kittens to a house I am working on right now. Once they new mom was in the house they were all crying, mom included. (they were fine without her while she was gone, not a peep!)

Mary - after hearing your story, my situation looks so much better. I think you msut be a saint!

Sorry so long, at least it's the end of the day not everyone has to scroll through = )
