Mr. Depp I Presume?

DJ is sleeping quietly dreaming of puppy dog tails and lollipops and I and sleeping quietly dreaming of DJ and all of a sudden the house starts to rock and roll.

Sierra is FREAKING out and running back and forth.

So much for sleeping anymore.
----------------------------------------------------------

John Michael Bolger sends you and Jenny his love
and tells everyone on the blog hello.

From Marcella

We left about 30 min before JD came out... one of my friends had to get going and I didn't have a choice, really disappointing. Met up with Becky from the blog for most of the time, she should have pictures from when he came out.

Johnny's Dad
I'm not sure even where to start with that shirt!
I'll let it speak for itself LOL

Our hero Mr. Bolger and the actress formally known as Anne Sage

The gas station shots yesterday were shot somewhere between Arizona and Tucson. It looks like they are filling in the little things.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amtrak - Remember to TRY to BYOPB - No that is not Bring Your Own Peanut Butter, that would make no sense, come on people wake up.

Bring Your Own Paint Brush if you have them. We can provide SOME rollers. Not sure about the tray things that hold the paint. Drop Clothes?? I've never seen the need for them in the past, but then again I'm never invited to paint anymore.

We will have water but Julies Java House is right next door so we can caffeine up to the max!
-----------------------------------------
Mary - did you purchase cards online? Has not come through yet. I'm taking more card to East James Gallery today and will sell Sharrow's 6 more LOL Also Julies Java House has a new batch so you can get them there.

Contact me if you want some at Kurth's tonight. Just wake me up. I'm walking 18 holes and should be done about 5:30. It'll be nap time!
-------------------------------------------------
John Bolger's friend - contact me of just steal the JMB photos from the blog.

OK - gotta run - have to make my Chicken & Noodles in Sesame Ginger Dressing for tomorrow.

  1. It is good to see JMB. He brings a lot of love to people and a lot of people recipricate. He is a rare breed in not only Hollywood but the world.

  2. Love me some JMB. He's the best!

  3. Where'd you get the message from JMB? Did Ruth email you?

Is that really Johnny Depp's Dad?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Jenny- the message from JMB came from me, I talked to him yesterday downtown at base camp. And yes, I am fairly sure that that IS his dad. I cut myself out of that picture...

  5. I posted this under yesterday's blog post; but thought I'd put it here too.

I just learned that the sand bags have to be buried? They said that they are contaminated! Wonder where they bury them??
I'm wondering if that's really Johnny's dad too??? How do you know?? Love the shirt!

    ReplyDelete
  6. That must be his Dad. I just read this online in one of his biographies..."Depp has a huge collection of guns, a habit he got from his father"

    ReplyDelete
  7. You can see the resemblance in his nose and cheek bones.

  8. Thanks for relaying the message Marcella!

  9. Ok guys... after driving Mon and Wed for nothing, last night made it all worthwhile! So we found base camp right away, we were going to go where they were shooting but one of the locations was in a "bad" area and they other location was Union Station but it was inside and although we tried... there was nothing to be seen. John Michael Bolger came by and I asked for a picture with him and seriously he couldn't have been nicer, he took pics with everyone, asked our names, where we were from he was just so amazing. He gave us an awesome speech about following your dreams which my friend Sarah took video of, I hope to have it on here soon. He also brought Branka Katic over to meet us and she was amazing also. I loved meeting her. =) We also met Johnny's Aunt and Uncle, Mom and Dad... they were awesome too... I just don't have one negitive thing to say about anyone! The M&G was awesome.. they came by and gathered everything that we wanted autographed, 1 per person then about 30 min later Johnny came out to meet us.. we weren't allowed to get a pic with Johnny but I took a few of him and a short video of him meeting other fans. He was talking to a little girl right before me and I wish I would have taped it, she gave him a flower to give to Lily-Rose and he got down to talk to her face to face and said "That is so nice, she will love it" then he hugged her and talked with her and her brother a little more.. it was amazing to watch. =) I didn't get home 'til 4:30am and had to be to work at 9am so I haven't had time to put my pics or videos up, but I'll do that tonight... (if I don't go to Chicago) Also... I wanted to share this with all of you.. I'm sure it doesn't make much sense as I am exhausted but there is someone on the IMDB message boards who works on the crew and I don't know if it's just me but he rubs me the wrong way, he's always making it seem like we are so stupid for trying to see Johnny or any filming of the movie and today I just had it, he left some snide remark to me.. here's just one of his remarks and here is the reply I left....

Him.... told you so... hows that $4.50/ gallon gas treating you? Where in the heck are we? Just wait for the movie to come out...

Me.....Yes... it sucks to pay $4.00 a gallon for gas (it's a bit cheaper in WI) but you know what..... it doesn't matter to me... maybe some people on this board have never truly been a "fan" of someone or appreciated their work so much that they would do just about anything to let that person know how much they affected their lives but Johnny has done that for me... I am 33 years old and have loved Johnny's work since the first time I saw him in 1984... that is a LONG time to admire someone and to get that chance to let him know that... I'd pay just about anything, all it really cost me was $ for gas, tolls and my time... he has given me far more then that! Johnny is nothing but gracious and humble and he works so hard all day but still takes the time to meet all his fans and when I see him meeting all of us he really looks like he couldn't be happier. It was amazing and I hope everyone who wants to meet him gets a chance.

Also.. I have to say that John Michael Bolger is one of the nicest people I have EVER met... he gave us an amazing speech about following your dreams, I got home last night about 4:30am and had to be to work by 9am so I haven't had a chance to put my pics or the video of JMB up yet... but I will and I hope you all enjoy it!

  17. Betty, is your birthday today or tomorrow?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Kurth tonight: In all likelihood I will be accompanied by a 10-year-old who is related to me.

It occurs to me that I have no idea how to introduce the lot of you. (She's taught to address adults in the manner they prefer, but until that preference is stated, it's Mr. or Ms. Last Name.)

She can introduce herself-- but if all y'all wouldn't mind, introduce yourself back as you would like to be addressed by a young'un.

    Thanks!

  19. Becky! You must've felt like you hit the mother lode when you met Johnny's family. Thanks for sharing your experience, love!!

  22. Congrats, Becky! What an awesome story! I would've loved to meet some of JD's family.

Does anyone know if JD had an estranged relationship with his father or has he been a big part of his life? Johnny stressed to me that he wanted to be a good father to his kids when I commented on how great he is with children. I'm posting that video and some other pics on my blog today...Video is taking 4eva to load!
    http://supercybermom.blogspot.com

I wouldn't bother about the IMdb guy. He seems quite arrogant and opinionated regarding fans. I can't even read that stuff over there anymore.

Hope you all have fun at Kurth's tonight and painting tomorrow.

Rod, good thing you clarified the paint brush/peanut butter thing! LMAO! Would've been a sticky mess.

Happy Friday all, and Betty...happy bday tomorrow! Longest day of the year! Woo hoo!

    ReplyDelete
  23. "Longest day of the year!"

Yeah, that's what my mom said right after she popped me out! lol still true though... he he

    ReplyDelete
  24. can't wait to see that video! = )

    ReplyDelete
  25. I haven't uploaded video here before...does it take a long time?
My video is 5 minutes long...Is that too long for a blog?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thanks very much to Marcella and Becky for the great reports. Just to answer a question raised by a few of you: yes, that's definitely Johnny's father. There have been loads of pics of him through the years with Johnny. He's a very handsome man. Did anyone get photos of the aunt, uncle or step-mother?

As for Johnny's relations with him, they were strained during Johnny's teens after his parents divorced. They soon reconciled, though. John Sr., along with his new wife, was at Johnny's wedding in 1983. Johnny stayed with him at least some of the times when he returned for visits to Florida. I've read interviews with him from pre-Jump Street days where he was obviously enormously proud of his son.

I have read some of those posts on IMDB. Yeah sometimes that crew person sounds arrogrant but some of his inside information is good. Don't know what he has against JD's fans. Anyway thats his problem. Thanks again can't wait to see pictures.

  58. Just got back from the filming tonight... I came down on Congress and saw all the filming to the left at the Auditorium building. Basecamp was right across the street. Because of this Johnny walked to the set instead of being driven. We were able to watch him come and go, escorted by police and of course Jerry, from across the yellow line. It was never that crowded from there, and it was a nice view. Marion Cotillard was also there... A block away on Michigan Ave. the old cars were lined up. After watching JD's stand-in in the drivers seat, JD himself appeared. We had a nice view as he got into the car, and drove off with the rest of the cars following. Although we are not sure exactly where they went, the chain of cars passed by basecamp twice, the second time stopping there. We watched Michael Mann and Johnny talk for a few minutes, exchange a hug, and them walk into basecamp. Becky has a GREAT video of this... Around 2:45 (I think?) Johnny reemerged from his trailer. Somehow we had completely missed them putting up yellow tape at the other entrance to basecamp. Following others rushing towards the corner, we found ourselves feet away Johnny Depp. I was FINALLY able to get my hug (actually 2 :) ) As well as an autograph. I met many people whom I had talked to online on blogs, in addition to some I had met yesterday. Was wonderful to meet you all. Becky and I walking down the street, "Are YOU Marcella and Becky?" Lol

    Great night... or early morning...

    ReplyDelete

  67. Here's what I hear yesterday- the crew and everyone has both Saturday and Sunday off from filming. They will resume on Monday until the following Monday. I don't know if this is correct, but it's what one person (Bob) said yesterday. Apparently they should be in a similar area but I don't THINK it will be the auditorium theater again.

Happy first day of summer. Hope the painting went well at Amtrak station.

I know it's a bit late, but I finally edited my video to get it under 1 GB and was able to upload it to youtube. It took 6 hours to upload and it's less than 5 mins. long! This is the whole meet and greet in Milwaukee on Wed pm/Thurs am.

Sandy from Germany, I got you in there, and the teacher from Whitnall too!

    Enjoy all...

  73. I just woke up! I am still tired, but settling in my with mac and cheese.

I hope everyone had a BLAST at painting today. I wish I could have been there, but I might have been painting asleep....

We had fun last night in Chicago, minus a "few" in the crowd that were disrupting things. I just realized that what I wrote on my blog isn't as funny as I wanted it to be, so maybe I will try again tomorrow.

Peg - Thanks for uploading that video. I can't get my comp working properly, but when I do I will watch it! THANKS!

Thanks again to Suz, and Shakes, for letting us make a potty stop this morning. Hope we didn't wake you up Suz!!

  74. Great photos Michelle! I love that first one in particular.

I have not had a chamce to see if I have any goof "before" shots.

Gotta say a big thanks to Kris and LLLouie.

BTW - we're looking for a roller with a green handle????

You guys should all go the train station (which some say is haunted) and take a look tomorrow.

PLUS - the Rod who is not me is a cool dude.

    Awesome pics Michelle!

Rianna I will post my recipe tomorrow! Thanks! :)

    ReplyDelete
  78. Michelle, nice photos love!! From your photos I can see that you've got a really nice wide angle lens there...what are you using for camera/lens?

    ReplyDelete
  79. Thanks, it was a lot of fun. Sir Jack, I have a 10-22mm. My current camera is a Canon Rebel, but a couple more weddings and I hope to be able to get a 5D. Ah, bliss.

    ReplyDelete
  80. The depot is haunted? Tell more!!

Kris and LLLouie see things mortal eyes cannot. And then, when they are finished, mortal eyes say, "But, of course, that makes a huge difference!" That is awesome.

Rod, I forgot to ask for your noodle recipe? That, too, was awesome. Do you share?

Station Manager Rod was great! Great stories! Hope he gets some trains through soon!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Michelle, what's your opinion of "live view" lcd panels on DSLRs? Do you know anyone who has one and likes it?

I heard the new Olympus DSLR comes with a type of "live view" but it's lens's optics aren't as nice as Nikon's.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Wow the station looks great! Nice work! How long did it take you guys?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Personally why would you want a live panel on a DSLR.

Of course I don't like them anyway - old fashion I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  87. BTW - any of you that use firefox - download Firefox 3. It's sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I have never been a big fan of the live view panels, unless it's a point and shoot. With an SLR, I manually focus a lot and think a live view would be distracting. It's all what you are used to, though. I have never used a live view on an SLR so I am accustomed to shooting through the viewfinder.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Rod- IMO- one advantage is that you can hold your camera a very difficult levels/angles, flip out the panel and still see what the camera "sees".

Nice for really low shots when you don't want to get down on your belly. Nice for really high shots over crowds when you haven't brought your "instant" step ladder with you mate.

    ReplyDelete
  90. great job at the train station everyone!! Nice pics Michelle!

I wish I could have gone, but you know...Chicago...JD....no sleep....you know how that goes.

Suz...thanks for letting me park my car at your house last night, and I hope we didn't wake you up too much! BTW - I finally got to see the Poser house!

  91. Kris and LHL - Yeah I left Josh's roller with the green handle it is a little longer than normal. If you could put it aside, it would be much appreciated. Thanks :)
Rod you gotta post all the pics tomorrow.

Anyone else get any good painting pics? I should have brought my camera.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Blazn...the funniest part of you guys coming to visit is that I woke up as Shaken was coming back up the hall from letting you guys out! LOL!!

I was disappointed that I didn't get a chance to say good morning and hear your stories. :( When we gave Carol Lee (Mary? sp?) her purse, I said, "Oh honey, I'm so sorry." BIG PAUSE then turning the purse to the pirate side, "But you're gonna be the most popular girl on the block!!" Michelle and Mary can probably attest to the grin. I was standing on the radiator tackling the intrinsic window trim.

    :p

That was so sweet. I think it really made her day. :)

    ReplyDelete
  93. At this moment, the purse is being slept with. The Sharpie is tucked inside-- and I'm not even clear that this particular Sharpie had a roll in it.

And she begged for a homemade root beer float all evening because this was such a "special" day already.

Ah, for the days of being so purely joyful!

I've decided to finally go digital with my slr (I've been using the same Canon AE1 for 30 years). I just looked at the Olympus E-510 (it was highly recommended @ Camera Casino in Oshkosh). I have a Nikon point and shoot with the live view and I have the option to not use it--which I don't. I don't call that 'real picture taking.' Anyway, if I understood things correctly, you don't have to use the live view with the E-510. It's beyond me why they would put that on an slr. They use it as a big selling point and I think it's useless. Other than that, it seems to be a great camera. I may purchase one this week. They're offering some deals during the month of June.

  100. Painting looks great. Sorry I couldn't make it. On the live view for DSLR. I have a Pentax K20D that just came out and it has live view on it. It works great for when you need the camera at a higher/odd angle to take the right picture but you can no longer use the viewfinder. I am not sure how the others are set up and every camera is different.

  101. Michelle, your photos of the painting party are fabulous as usual. Love the one of the rollers. And the one with LHL's legs (I think that's who's they are) is a HOOT!! I'm glad you got one of the finished product; I was hoping to see that since I had to leave a bit before everything was
finished. Did the Rod who's not Rod like the end result???
I'll email all of the photos I took yesterday to Rod and let him decide if any are note worthy enough to post. I did get a neat one of Suz silhouetted against the
window painting that intriquite trim! I had fun yesterday and think everyone else who joined in did too!

  102. My thought after reading about the chicago near drive-by shooting was that someone should get intouch with Johnny's real agent and try to set up a meeting in say Columbus at the Kurth for Johnny to come on a day (Invitation Only) to meet his true fans from Wisconsin. Then he can spend more time with all the people who truly love him. I know he would probably have to do this type of thing all around the country after word gets out but what's a couple days out of his busy schedule.
