Man! I'm Sleepy Today

Got some new photos. I'll let you gawk at them for a bit and I'll just catch a little cat nap.

................ hrmmmfphjf what? Done? OK

An article in the Green Bay Press Gazette

Economic impact of 'Public Enemies' argued
------------------------------------

Screen Rant is saying Empire Magazine that it has the first images of the new Public Enemies movie . HA!! try like 7 months LATE?? BTW - Empire Mag says the opening here in the U.S. is July 3rd. I'm starting to see this more and more, the date slipping 2 days. I wonder if ONE person said it and others are latching on to it?
++++++++
I'm thinking of making a not for profit Public Enemies Calendar. My problem that I'm wrestling with is that many of the photos are not mine AND I don't know who took them. Not sure how to handle that!
==========================

At the Kurth last night I had a brilliant idea. Why not get a few people together that like to grow things and PERHAPS give them a rhyzome of some hops. In return they would . . . . get a beer named after them and some from beer FROM their hops.

I figure about 20% of the cost of making beer goes into hops. If I had five people grow a couple different hop plants that would be fun!! Although hops are not hard to grow they do get rather tall (20 feet). So if you are a gardner and are interested let me know! Just googeling I found this report from a first year hop grower. I know Megs Agnew from Sharrow Drug is interested in growing hops. (BTW - check out the new Sharrow Drug site. I HELPED!! in a small way)

I saw Steve at the Kurth last night - not sure of his last name. He is opening up a Bistro in Columbus and he had tried a few of my previous beers! Last night he sampled Hazel's Nutty Nectar - hope he liked it.

HOW DID AI MISS THIS!!!

DATELINE APRIL 17 2007 - BOMB SQUAD CALLED TO SHARROW DRUG

A 2-ounce sample of picric acidwas found in the basement of Sharrow Drug Store and would have packed the punch of nearly half a stick of dynamite.

Store employees found the sample Thursday as they were cleaning out old chemicals.

"This is very similar to TNT," store owner Nick Sharrow said.

Picric acid isn't volatile as a ...______???????__________

That's all I could read in the Virginian-Pilot - so here is the game - fill in what Picric acid isn't as volatile as. The winning submittable will get three Gold Johnny Stars.
--------------------------------

Check out this site - this morning it is taking FOREVER to load (I've sent them an email about this already) but when you do get it loaded you can send a card to a servicemen overseas.

Seems there are a lot of corporate jets for sale. With deflation I'm going to wait it out for the prices to drop a little more.

  5. There was another screening of PE, and AICN has reviews from two audience members. Both are positive, but a bit useless with the movie still being worked on. Nice to see that it's coming along though.

Of course it's useless! THEIR INSECTS FOR GOD SAKE!!

  10. I have been thinking about the Public Enemies trailer. I must either have too much time or I am avoiding some important issue I should be thinking about.
Anyway, I have ponderings but no answers.
Do we even know that the trailer we have been told will be before Christmas will even be in theaters. Maybe it will be one of those trailers that the studio give to an entertainment TV show first in a gesture of mutual goodwill. Then to the internet a few days later.
If it does go to theaters first, when will this be and what films is it likely to be shown before?
I had a look at the list of new releases for December. I guess we can eliminate any G or PG films. There are serious dramas before 25th but these don't really seem compatible and many are narrow releases and not going wide until later (including Frost/Nixon). It could go with action films like Punisher War Zone (5th) or The Day the Earth Stood Still (12th) but are these big enough. Will they just wait until Christmas day which along with the following days are big box office days no matter what is showing.
I thought Valkyrie (26th) might be compatible since it is a action drama based on real events from last century but have read that it is stinky, not that being stinky will mean people won't go to see it.
See too much thinking. Time will tell.

I wonder when there will be an official poster.

  11. Re: PE Release date
The website universalpictures.com has the date as July 1, 2009.
I think this source should be more reliable than any others. I guess once an error is made, it is just spreads.

  12. Didn't have time to read the blog post yesterday (or today's) until just now (5:48 pm on Thursday).
LOVE the new PE pics!! You're such a tease! Soon we'll see the trailor and the movie won't be far
off after the holidays are over!
You mentioned yesterday that you sold more postcards to Walgreens. Are you still dealing with corporate, or are they finally paying you for all of the ones they've had and sold?? Hope they realize what they've got with you!!! Sorry I missed Kurth's AGAIN! Just too tired by the end of the day!

  13. There's an interesting thread on IMDB that refers to the most recent screening of PE in Portland, OR...

My favorite quote is: As far as action and fog of war, the Little Bohemia gun play does for gangster films what the D-Day landing did for Saving Private Ryan.

    Ooooooh I can't wait!!!

"As most of you know, Johnny Depp and Tim Burton have been rumored to be making a film adaptation of the popular 1960’s show for awhile now. But with the way it is in Hollywood, you never know if a project is ever going to come together. Add to that, we’re talking about two of the biggest people in Hollywood and since they have their picks of the best scripts and projects; you never know what they’ll do next."

  18. The release date for PE in the UK is 3rd July, and Empire is a UK magazine. That's where the confusion comes from.
