Public Enemies Reshoot + Mayoral Debate

So so much to say today must be good coffee.

According to First Showing dot Net they have "heard" that Michael Mann is going back to Illinois to reshoot some scenes from the movie.

Yea - old news! You heard it here FIRST (yet no one believed me . . of course maybe they "heard" it from me LOL).

Anyway congrats to Michelle our resident photog for having her site mentioned and photos posted.

Since THEY stole the photos from Michelles site I might as well steal her photos from their site. You have seen them before but refreshers are always nice. I have not heard any more from "my people" on any Columbus news. Or what "BIG" means.

The FIRST photo is one we have all seen but this will be the first of the magnets - I'll have the whole set sooner or later. Should be available in a few weeks. That black border is just the bleed area and will not be on the final product.

The Mayoral Debate. WOW. How does one go about this without getting in DEEP DO DO politically. I have always tried to stay out of the political arena and I do not feel this venue is the correct place for me to express my personal opinion. This is a place where I can ridicule and heckle politicians decisions right or wrong. I'm an equal opportunity mockimist (one who mocks).

So I will not state my personal opinion on who I believe should be the Mayor of Columbus.

With that said I took a photo of the four candidates so you get an idea of who is running.




I also will not go into the individual views of where the candidates stood on the questions posed to them but I will say that no one answered or even mentioned the need for a Planetarium, Taco Bell or a place to get Foot Long Hot Dogs! Perhaps that will all be answered in the next debate.

However - one candidate did have sheets of paper on all the desks telling us about himself and this was very useful when we flipped the page over for notes and snide remarks. I also utilized new technology in using my "iTouch**" for taking notes which I believe is the first time EVER in Columbus history that a "iTouch**" was used to taking notes at a Mayoral debate.

So without actually telling you who the remarks were for you will get an idea of what we had to deal with.

OH - and just so you know I'm not just blowing smoke up your butt (an act I have actually never done . . . or wanted to do for that matter) here are the actual notes.

Those are the notes.

One of the first questions was how can Columbus reap the benefits from Public Enemies and one candidate did mention that perhaps we could have a website where people could find information about the movie AND Columbus. A website does reach the entire world you know. I think that is a brilliant idea and will look into it.

As for the other questions. WHY did they not weed out the blatant attacking questions and questions such as "How do you feel about truth?" All four candidates were pro truth so that one was a wash.

Then there were questions that were totally meaningless to 99% of the citizens of Columbus but obviously meant something to the person that asked it. But then each candidate said the question was totally meaningless even to them. Thank you!

The debate will be on Charter Cable at some point on some channel I do not get (having DIRECT TV but wishing I had DISH). I URGE you all to watch it and make a decision and vote on the 17th. Of the four candidates two will be voted off the island and the remaining two will move on to the final elimination round. From what I gather only about 600 people vote and anything can happen.

After watching the debate I really do not want "anything" happening. As one candidate said rather too forcefully. MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE. Once you see the show you will know what that is.

So yesterday I decided to write a blog to end all blogs on the entire Udey Dam incident and finally get this thing solved. I wrote and wrote and it seemed pretty darn brilliant and said to myself "This bitch is getting published" until I reread it and damn, like what was I thinking of, even I can't say that stuff.

I did not find any photos of Udey Dam but I did find a photo of Uday By A Dam so that will have to suffice.

So I emailed all of my Columbus friends, a couple of Columbus acquaintances, one stranger and I talked to a homeless guy near the Capitol who charged me $1 for his opinion and it didn't make any sense at all, lesson learned.

What I found is that my friends areall split 50/50 on Udey but for the most part they understand both sides. The acquaintances never emailed me back until this morning but it's to late to count it. The stranger will not side one way or the other but she is for one side (reading between the lines) and the homeless guy could not stay on topic and started babbling about Castro and Clinton and lost me completely.

The one thing I did hear was "WHY are we still talking about this?" (I'm hoping they were not meaning WHY am I still talking about this) And "SOMEONE has to make a decision". It seems to me that the people of Columbus who pay attention to such things are 50/50 which leaves this up to our elected leaders to do their job and make a freaking decision. This is not a popularity contest. Someone is going to be disappointed no matter what the final decision is. Let's get on with it and move on! How many years has it been? Time is running out, like sand through an hourglass so are the days of our lives.
