NOW WHAT!!

OK - we have gone through the teaser for the trailer and now we have the trailer. Now What!! Teasers for new posters? Teasers for bookmarks?

Looks like Stephen Lang is doing his impression of Jerry in the Trailer.

Speaking of Imdb - if you want to have some fun go over to any post that Depp hater Jake_Barlowe has posted and tell he how much you love Johnny Depp!

Also it seems everybody over there is going ape-shit crazy that it's shot in digital. I think I mentioned that yesterday but they are getting pretty anal over that.

On a side note the NEW blog which I believe will be called Front Porch Columbus will have an expose' (expo-zay) on how PE came to Columbus. I'll have more on that once I get things worked out. It'll have it's own domain but I wish I could get three columns with a decent look and feel. Still only two.

COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF RAIN.

Be prepared for a LOT of rain tomorrow, we're talking plural inches. Lots of water in the atmosphere and thunderstorms for a couple days would not be a surprise.

================================
Sorry for the shorty today - lots of stuff going on in my brain (more then one actually which is always a problem). We're getting an estimate for an invisible fence but I'm not sure how I can get our neighbor to wear a collar - still working on that. I let Blake out on his 40 foot rope and he managed to wrap himself around every tree, shrup and frozen poop in the yard within 4 minutes. It was amazing.

I looked out and there is is 40 feet away looking at the house with a silly grin with his rope wrapped around a tree 3 times. He is so so smart when it comes to commands but not so bright when it comes to ropes.

I was going post something about TCIP but I'm waiting to see if they are goign to correct something. I also might have to show up to the Common Council meeting Tuesday. They should hear what I have to say also. I will Tatiana them (Idol watchers will know what I mean).

OK - back to real work.

Stay dry - like to hear some reviews of Watchman this weekend.

  2. Hey, Who watches the Watchmen?

    This guy!

I went and saw it yesterday and I thought it was alright. I'm a fan of the graphic novel, which I'm presuming you are too, and I think the movie was about as good as it could be. For anybody thinking of going to see it, don't do yourself a disservice by not first reading the novel. The special effects were great and worth the price of admission alone. However, there were a few subplots they left out which I was hoping to see in there. Hopefully they'll be on the director's cut. I think they miscast a couple of characters as well. Let me know what you think.

  3. If you head over to the AV Club they're having some great talks about it.

  5. I am going to see Watchmen in about an hour. I did not read the books, so hope I don't get lost hee hee. Hoping to see the PE trailer on the big screen too!

Awwww poor Blake! Have fun with the invisible fence!

PE in digital is fine by me. I would think MM knows what he is doing, and shame on those who criticize when they had nothing to do with the movie making process.

    Nuff said. LOL!

  6. Great Blog!!
    Happy Friday All!!!

    The movie sounds interesting!
    Hope all enjoy going.

Poor Blakey! Hopefully the fence will help if you like the price..
My Liberty wraps herself around a tree all the time.

Jenny~ I talked to her too.
    For all of us!
We all do not need to see that kind of rain again!

    Enjoy the Wonderful Day!!!!

  7. I do like one of the imdb threads....a 1000 things to do while you're waiting to see PE on July 1.....(some interesting ideas...like rewatching the trailer over and over....)

Rod you're no going to see the Watchmen this weekend?????? I haven't read the graphic novel so hope I can decipher it....can't wait to see THE trailer on the big screen :)))))))))

  8. To those thinking of seeing Watchmen, don't be put off by those who tell you to read the novel first. If you have geek-leaning tastes, don't mind dark themes and some violence and are prepared to concentrate for 2 1/2 hours, then you should be fine.
I saw Watchmen yesterday without reading the book. It is my observation that people who read a book then see the movie are more likely to be disappointed than those who just see the movie.
I hope this observation does not apply to Public Enemies because I have read Bryan Burrough's book.
Also, there was no Public Enemies with Watchmen but I am not in the USA.

  9. Can you imagine?

We've all watched the trailer oodles of times trying to pick out the scenes we saw shot or what took place in out city. Can you imagine when the DVD comes out how many we are going to wear out doing the same thing through the entire movie? I'm planning to get two!

I scheduled July 1 and 2 (July 3rd is a Holiday for me) off for vacation days. Hope I can find something to do those days!

  10. Well I JUST saw The Watchmen...

Never read the book, and I was able to follow it ok. However, it was difficult in the beginning. Also...as someone already posted..be prepared to watch it for 2 1/2 hours...and also be prepared for some pretty gruesome scenes. (Including one with JFK)

I don't want to give anything away. LOL

I thought all in all the action was very good, good effects, but there seems to be something missing (At least for me). I was not 100% in love with it...but then again like i said...never read the book.

Not sure if I will buy it on DVD or not.

Back in a min with a funny PE story for you all!!

  12. PE TRAILER Today at Watchmen:

Okay, so I knew it was going to be on there...and there it was. I have already seen it online, but to see it up on the big screen was marvelous!! You really get the sense that people liked it! Especially when this happens...

The music starts playing...Then you see Depp ascending the stairs...a group of girls let out a little SHREIK!! Okay..it was a big one...I smiled.

I watched all the faces that i could see light up at the trailer. Peple were totally engrossed in it.

After it was done, everyone started chatting with each other..

    "Sweet! That looks good!"

"Hey thats the movie they filmed in Milwaukee"

"Dude, we are totally seeing that"

    "WOW! That looks fantastic!"

So as you can see, the word is spreading, and PE is finally getting some recognition!! People really liked the trailer today!

  13. thanks blazen for the reaction to the PE trailer and to everyone about their Watchmen reviews (going to see it today :))))

I am wearing out everyone I know with my PE fever....alot of people don't understnad my obcession so it's good to hear that people are getting excited about the trailer

I have told my boss to bump up all the quantities that WM's will receive of PE dvds because everyone here will want them (and maybe more than one!) will love to see what extras will come too

  15. Hi Grinder, love the site. I tried to go poke fun at the Depp haters out at the IMDB site... but can only read not post.

I did like the posts with information about others who have been following the film, or were extras. I was lucky enough to be an extra in Madison for the Congress scene...

I Love to hear/read stories from others who participated in the film, either from the sidelines or in the actual shoot. You have so many great posts out here! I guess I am going to have to pull up a chair, a cup of coffee and get comfortable... Looks like I have a LOT of reading to do...

  16. The people who complain over the digital vs film thing annoy me. The set I was just doing stills on in Door County (www.feedthefishmovie.com) was using the Red One. Had three of them on set. And the picture on them is awesome. They played alot with lighting at night and made some cool shots. Also it makes it so you can edit the film on the fly. The director of feed the fish already had a ruff edit of the movie done before filming in WI even wraped. Digital is the future...time for people to move on:)

  17. after working security up at manitosh waters, I had a blast working up there. Especially after meeting both Mr. Depp and Mr. Bale. I even got a chance to sit on michale manns director's chair (when he wasn't working, because my shift was during the day and they worked at nite!) His chair reminded me of those nike chairs that you order on their website. LOL. But after watching the full trailer on the movie website, it does look like an excellent movie to go see. I know I will even if I worked at it.
