Frost on the Pumpkin

Well there certainly is frost today when I woke up. 33 this morning.

Today DJ and Jenny take Caydence to the UW for a swallow study and I'm taking Blake to get toenails clipped.

Otherwise I was planning on walking about town logging what each business is (no one seems to have this) and just what buildings are vacant plus perhaps a photo of every building . . . .but . . . .rain is coming so . . . who knows.

In brew news an empty beer bottle tipped over on my hydrometer and smashed the delicate glass tube to bits. It's a piece of equipment that is used to measure sugar in water so I can see how much alcohol is in a brew.

My hydrometer crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When a Hydrometer dies that has been especially close to someone, that equipment goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are worts and brews for all of our special friends so they can bob up and down and twirl together.

There is plenty of wort, sugar and beer, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the brewing equipment who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were broken or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of batches and times gone by.

The brewing equipment are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all float and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright scales are intent; His stiff glass body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, bobbing up and down faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress his holding tube, and you look once more into the trusting scales inside his glass body, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Blake likes Authority and the more expensive Eukanuba wet dog food but does not like IAMS. I went on line to see what is the best bang for buck wet dog food is and it was a waste of time. The one thing the internet fails me. To many opinion sites. Some say Iams is garbage and all the other known foods are crap. The one thing that everybody seems to agree on is Pedigree is total garbage.

-----------------------------------

I purchased "What Color is Your Parachute" for DJ, but when I get home I see it has nothing at all to do with jumping out of a plane for entertainment. I might have to take it back. There goes another hobby. At the same time I purchased "Days of Infamy" by Newt Gingrich. I can now buy his books without actually contributing to the Republic Party. He is a very very good writer.

The problem with this book is that it is NUMBER 2 in a series grrrrrrrr. I have not read #1.

He writes alternate history books and is very good. He wrote Gettysburg which explores what would have happened if the South would have won.

This book explores what would have happened if the hawkish Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto had led the attack on Pearl Harbor instead of the more cautious, Admiral Nagumo.

OH - FlashForward is a excellent new show. Check it out. See if you can find the first episode on the tube. So far I love it.

Seems tickets to Monday night are not going very high. You can buy them for less then $100. The game in Green Bay are $250 each.

Have a fun Thursday.
