Public Enemies Reshoot News

.
Public Enemies Photo blog

EXTRA EXTRA - Fresh Screening reviews from 02/12/09

I think I have a tumor in my wrist's or carper tunnel or something - to many key strokes so I ll have to use smaller words today or maybe just skip punctuation marks all together as they re over rated anyway

PUBLIC ENEMIES

It seems many of the scenes with Marion Collitard have been scrapped as Michael Mann realized she could not speak with an accent he was looking for - so they are reshooting all the love scenes and speaking parts with upcoming mega star Hillery Duff

Another problem that was not noticed and the reason for the delays in getting the trailer out is that in all the scenes with Christian Bale there seems to be a lot of under the breath f bombs which went unnoticed during filming which was fine in some scenes but not all Another problem is Director Michael Mann can not get the color of the snow correct and is thinking of coming back to Columbus in late June to reshoot snow scenes

In other news I have seen some the notes from an not yet published article about the advanced publicity for the promo of the teaser that promotes that trailer and it is totally awesome

And that my friends is the fish of Friday the 13th left parentheses an inside joke for all of my French readers right parentheses who are now really confused when trying to translate and seeing quote odd punctuation words un quote

Happy Friday the 13th. IT'S A JOKE!!

dash dash dash dash dash dash dash dash

I was looking at the paper yesterday and there was a headline and I quote Bad economy seems to be putting people in the mood for condoms un quote

WELL at least the bad economy is creating safer sex I guess there is always a bright side to the dark side

Charter Cable is filing for Chapter 11 so I looked in my book and there was no mention of them anywhere in Chapter 11 - you just can not trust the news anymore ba boom

So how is to stimulus package going to help you question mark

It seems that on average we will get a 8 to 13 dollar a week addition to our checks starting in July plus Columbus will be on the hot list to get real DSL period I guess there is 7 billion dollars available to broadband providers to hook up rural areas

There is also a ton of money available for weatherizing your home and buying non gas powered cars

OH - before I forget - there is a Public Enemies meeting at Julies Java House Tuesday the 17th to quote discuss events for the PE movie unquote 5:30 and all are welcome to attend

My Public Enemies magnets SUCK! I've emailed the printers three times with no response yet grrrrrr

And speaking of Jessica Simpson and her new obesity problem When you go from this to that in like 2 weeks of course you are going to have people talking - well daa

The real thing people should be talking about is that belt and the grandma pants YUCK

You DO know today is the start of fashion week question mark

Who watched Survivor - I can not believe they were going to kick out The OLD woman - she is younger then ME I gotta get on that show - time is running out for me - I'll have to have a walker soon and I m thinking they would vote out a guy with a walker period

OH - The Columbus Pioneer should be in your mail boxes TODAY I m guessing the post office can not deliver mail the same day they receive it and for any of you that have seen the paper - me and Gutter Gussie - OH IT S ON BABY you and me in a word off

THE AUDITORIUM - good news comma the roof of the city hall has been deemed safe - it s been up and solid for 120 years and is going nowhere - however the roof over the 2nd floor could cave in at any moment.

In other Columbus news we are getting a ton of new buisness and economically C-bus is in good shape much to the chagrin of the naysayers that are against the current Mayor We are weathering this downturn way way better then many small towns

With Red Bud Home Services, Earth n’Elements, Houston’s Antique and Gifts, the Columbus Pioneer, Kindred Kids a new Electric Car store,Richard’s Insurance is expanding and a new restaurant from the same people that run Al Capons Hideout opening in March PLUS a new buisness opening in the Wausau Paper Building. We also have a commitment from a national car rental company to open operations in Columbus so when people complain that Columbus is anti buisness - I m not seeing it

What I do see in the current Mayor that I did not see in her opponents is someone looking to the future and not complaining about the past

I went into the debate with open eyes I had never met the other candidates so I wanted to give them a chance I also knew that the current Mayor would know more facts as she is in the position already so I took that into account

I left 100% sure that the current Mayor was by far the best choice I don't agree with everything she says but I feel we are headed in the right direction and I say that without any baggage from the past to cloud my opinion

VOTE Tuesday

Staying Away from Anger - Almost

.

I've been trying to get some hint of what is happening in the Public Enemies world so last night I contacted my best friend (an acquaintance) Bob Wagner, the 1st Assistant Director. We talked for a while, well, actually emailed each other 5 or 6 times (have you ever seen the movie The Lake House? it was nothing like that) and I got nothing for you.

He did say he "actually missed Columbus" and he did say our town was a beautiful little place. But even with threats to post goofy photos of him he would not give a clue what was happening. Perhaps he is out of the loop being a few thousand miles away from California. Or perhaps his lips are sealed.

He did insult me once by calling me "a good man" which sounds to me like an epitaph waiting to happen. So no news is no news. As for the Imdb trailer rumor, I'm calling it dead.

So I'm driving to work this morning alone (DJ is sick because someone brought in a sick baby that was coughing all over) and minding my own buisness trying to figure out how to write the bottom part of this blog and if I take out all the bad words there will be massive blank spaces when this big ass pickup truck honks at me for no reason.

I'm stunned. There are only four reason's a pick up would honk at me. Either his brakes are failing and he is out of control or he has spotted a terrorist in my back seat that is about to attack me or his girl friends head hit the horn by accident or he is just being an asshole.

I think we all know which one it was.

Of course this is not a good day to play with my emotions. I'm a pretty calm guy for the most part and I stay away from anger, which is a wasted emotion. The only times a person really needs to get angry is if he is being attacked by a wild beast, being bothered by mosquitoes or is annoyed at his therapist who is all like you must deal with your emotions and I'm all like I'm dealing with my emotions and the music and voices are really only when I'm in the car now and she is all do you want to talk about it and I'm all like NO!

So when I do get angry it's a pretty rare event. In fact in the 880+ blogs since 2005 I can count on one hand how many times I have felt the need to vent.

So for any new readers to this blog you will be better off just clicking on the pretty flower photo from my back yard and going to my Lasagna Garden blog where things are cheery and green and happy. I'll wait.

OK - For any of you still around I'm actually a really a nice guy that feels there are two ways to deal with anger. One way is to just live with whatever has made you angry. Life is too short and fragile to waste that much energy. The other way is to figure out what needs to changed so you will not be angry.

Like when Roundy's took Bagels Forever Onion Bagels out of all their stores. I made it my life goal to get them back and I did what I had to do to convince corporate they were making a huge mistake (notice you can now buy them again - you're welcome). But there are times when a person gets backed into a corner and #1 and #2 have been a waste of time and like a pimple popping against the mirror- SPLAT! you have to get something off your chest or you will EXPLODE.

So I will now have a Keith Olbermann moment. SIR!
=========================

When we moved to Columbus we knew we were moving into a neighborhood association so I asked all sorts of questions about rules and many people including my agent and the lawyers at Lueders Law who closed on our house and I was told to not worry about the rules as they were only there to make sure nothing hideous was going to take place like outhouses and cement yards.

Little did I know that the people in the McMansion next to us would be so totally anal and rat on all of their neighbors if their new house's did not meet the McMansion standards. They even went so far as to take photos of other peoples new house's and then TOLD them to their face that their new house that they were so proud of was in reality, sub-standard. Is a way to make friends? Is that a way an adult acts?

They are the same neighbor that complained about my weather pole in the back yard. They are the ones threatening us that they will live trap our cat because they can not control their dog and it might chase the cat if it is outside. They are the ones that ratted on us like little 3rd graders and made us pay a fine because we have TWO cats (OH MY GOD!). They yelled at us because our new tree's were planted in the wrong spot and we did not ask them for their opinion and they are the ones that let their dog poop in our yard and then let their dog run around on the golf course.

So what has me all worked up, this time? It seems our house does not have trim on the back windows and is NON-COMPLIANT with the "Protective Covenant". Is MLG, who runs the ASSociation trying to make enemies in a neighborhood that is normally very very friendly? Does our neighbor who's house is WAY to big for their yard (like a kid with a huge head) really want to play this game?

On the good side she has said she wish's she would have built in Hawks Landing - well most of the neighborhood wish's that also.

good grief.

On a funny side note we were going put trim on the back windows anyway, it's on our "to do" list along with planting 32 more shrubs (all OK'd by the ASSociation) but now we can't plant because we are unworthy and need to do the trim. We're not rich people, one thing at a time. I guess new trim is more important then a beautiful yard. At least we are working on landscaping.

Anybody that knows DJ and I know that we will bend over backwards to help anybody. We are very proud of our house, it's certainly not the biggest house but we are striving to make it one of the better looking lots in the area.

If you read my article in the Columbus Pioneer a few weeks ago titled "You're Not Who You Think You Are" you will understand that the one thing my dad instilled in me by his actions is the Pay It Forward attitude. DJ and I will bend over backwards to help people and this town. We love it here. But I guarantee if we would have known that we would have so many problems in this neighborhood we would have never moved to the Kestrel Ridge Area. There are so many good people in Kestrel Ridge and one not so great one.

I'm am so very very sorry for this rant but this really got me pissed off. This is such a wonderful city why does one woman have to ruin it. Perhaps it's time I start to complain to the ASSociation about them. Lord knows there is a list.

Perhaps I'm above that and do not feel like acting like a child and stooping to their level.

AAARG!!

I'll be back to happy happy tomorrow.

sigh

Tough Times + Public Enemies Trailer non-News

There was a report over at Imdb that some guy had seen the trailer and he reported that it would be out by the end of February. Of course everybody was all ga ga over this which I felt was odd because when I reported my vague rumor of a reshoot I was jumped on for creating rumors and just trying to get attention.

But this guy got a free ride.

I was the first to play devils advocate and when I hit reply I covered my gonads waiting for someone to start kicking me for being a poopy-head jealous person. The regulars are now chiming in and it's looking like a hoax. We shall see. I emailed 1st Assistant director Bob Wagner to see if he knows anything but figure I'll get nothing in return unless it's in some coded message I'll have to decipher and guess at.
================================

I want to post an email from a friend - I won't say who because I have not gotten his OR her permission but I'm thinking a lot of people are feeling this way. He OR she writes

"Is it just me? This not knowing or seeing any real news of the movie is driving me nuts? It's like waiting for Christmas but not knowing the date, every day we go by without anything make me think the July 1 date is just arbitrary."

I think this also has to do with the winter in general. My mom has been depressed and a friend of hers asked why. She said "Have you heard of ANY good news in the last few months?" The reply was "The Miracle on the Hudson**!" But it was bad luck the birds hit the plane she said.

Every time I hear "Miracle on the Hudson" I think of Kate Hudson and one night stands.

This is why
Flight 1549 is getting SO much air play. People are just looking for something good to latch onto. Something they can smile about. The poor crew (who have been awarded the Master's Medal of the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators also known as The MMGAPAN) have had to relive the event hundreds of times for the news.

I had to laugh last night when they were on Letterman and Sully(we're on a first name basis now on facebook as I am one of his 600,000 friends) was talking about his job in "landing" the craft and Letterman turns to the copilot Jeffrey Skiles from Wisconsin and asks "what were you doing during all of this?" Skiles says "Oh, I was paralyzed with fear!" and the audience erupts!

Something no one had mentioned was that there were no pets on the flight.

Sully has mentioned that he still has trouble sleeping and dreams. WELL YEA!!! I'm sure Left Hand Louie had some interesting dreams in his ordeal with gunman and I know when I was held up at gun point I was smooth and collected until I tried to sleep. Crazy dreams.
==================
Speaking of Left Hand Louie I bottled a brew he should like (along with adubya). An American Pale Ale. Actually it's an Amarillo SMaSH. Single Malt and Single Hop. Tasted pretty great just before bottling.

And speaking of beer - We're hitting the Kurth tonight if anyone else is interested.
===================
Anybody watching American Idol? We seem to watch it every 3rd year. Lots of good male singers this time and a lot of female drama queens. What I find interesting is that some of the songs being song are HITS from previous winners.

I never thought there would be any actual STARS from this show when it came on the air but there have been a few serious winners. Carrie Underwood is THE Country Star who set records with her 2nd album as the most sales for a solo female Country album in history. Kelly Clarkson has sold 17 million "albums" and as the #1 hit right now on the Pop charts.

Winners from Idol
Kelly Clarkson
Ruben Studdard (Clay Aiken was the real winner)
Fantasia Barrino (Jennifer Hudson was the real winner)
Carrie Underwood
Taylor Hicks - bomb!
Jordin Sparks
David Cook - who?? maybe it's too early.
=================================
New show to watch for.

For fans of Buffy the Vampire Killer, Firefly, the movie Serenity and Joss Whedon in general comes Dollhouse. Sort of a cross between, Quantum Leap, Alias, and Dark Angel and so forth. Scientists take hot looking males and females, wipe their brains of all memory's and reinstall new memory's and muscle memory's for missions of pleasure and killing or whatever a client needs done. Then they come back and are wiped clean again for the next mission. Except one woman starts to remember the past. Entertainment Weekly gives it a B- so far. It's on Friday Nights (the night where all good shows go to die).

Survivor.

I never got my audition tape in for Survivor 20 Grinders Island but I did make a label. Didn't make the beer though - I wonder if I could call an APA a Bitter.

The new Survivor is on this Thursday and it looks AWESOME. BIG twist and Jeff Probst says he guarantee you will love this cast. Make sure you watch it. Someday you will see me on the show (as the old guy being voted off first because I'm The Old Guy that won't shut up).

I just could not do the next Survivor. With Public Enemies SUPPOSE to be out July 1st and filming taking place at that very time, I did not want to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity. I can always audition for Survivor.

This day in Wisconsin History

1842 - Shooting in the Legislature
On this date the Territorial Legislature of Wisconsin met in Madison, only to be interrupted by the shooting of one member by another. The legislature was debating the appointment of Enos S. Baker for sheriff of Grant County when Charles Arndt made a sarcastic remark about Baker's colleague, James Vineyard. After an uproar, adjournment was declared and when Arndt approached Vineyard's desk, a fight broke out during which Vineyard drew his revolver and shot Arndt.

Thanks Graham Man

AND one last thing - I found this the other day and thought that it was funny - the guy is not in the White House anymore but . . . .

Have a wet day!
