WELL - I got a call this morning from the Police Department. It seems they arrested someone last night who happened to have my cell phone along with a few other things odds and ends including a 9mm Glock.
Now they can charge the guy with position of stolen property also. I wonder what I can do with my phone once I get it back. I would not mind switching it with my current one (that whenever I sit on it it calls a random person).
================================
I was going to go to the Farmers and Merchants Union Bank in Columbus yesterday to try to secure a $50,000 loan. You see there was this game that was THE LOCK OF THE CENTURY!! For one $50,000 wager I could win $2,600. IT WAS A LOCK.!! USC was a 25 point favorite and all they had to do was win by ONE.
WHEW - good thing I did not make that trip.

I know many of you just do not have time to read every blog every day so I have made it a little easier for you with Wordl's. Wordl takes the important words of a blog and assigns a weight to each word depending on it's . . . importancy.
So now you can ketchup on the week.
Yesterdays blog where I talked about the Brewers.

Any of you happen to catch the Brewer game last night! WHOO HOO!!! Grand Slam to win it. too bad the Mets also won.
One small problem with New York. Tropical storm Kyle which by Sunday could be Hurricane Kyle blasting the east coast with rain and raining out the final Met game and THUS giving the Brewers an extra day off.
=====================
Walgreen's - I had given p on those guys when it came to postcards. It seemed Corporate really does not like dealing with little guys that tire out filling reams of online paperwork and answering hundreds of questions about insurance, shipping rates and so forth, then getting three passwords to go on two websites to automate everything to make it easy for them to contact one of the seven departments in my postcard operations headquarters.
However - I received a call and they want to sell postcards at the Columbus Walgreen's! I suppose I'll call them back this morning.

With the Brewers winning last night their chances actually went DOWN because the Phillies LOST and are only 1 game ahead of the Mets. So NOW the chances of making the playoffs are Brewers 42%, Mets 63% Phillies 95%. ROOT for the Phillies to WIN.
OH - and don't count out the Houston Astros with a 0.02% chance.
Ryan Braun STILL has not made an error in Left Field. Also he is fourth in the League in RZR(Revised Zone Rating) which is the proportion of balls hit into a fielder's zone that he successfully converted into an out. PRETTY FREAKING GOOD Fielding.

Sunday Night - Amazing Race begins it's 13th season. I'll have a contest for anyone interested. After Sundays show - email the remaining order of the racers and I'll keep track. You will get negative points for how many away each team is from your pick. Closest to ZERO wins.
For instance. You pick Anita and Arthur – Married Hippies to come in 5th and they get booted 9th you receive 4 negative points. The grand prize will be something very special (as yet unknown).
================================
One last thing - a Columbus friend Sean has been growing hops and wants to donate some to Grinders Island Brewery - REAL Cascade hops. Let's talk him and his wife to have a brew at The Kurth NEXT Friday night (I think Columbus Carriage Classic Ale will be available if it has carbed up enough).
talk at ya later.

next Friday is doable, this Friday I hasve to dogsit.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad they nabbed the guy who stole you phone. Was his name James? They should give him 10 to 20!
ReplyDeleteI am stupid, I don't get the Amazing Race thing. So do we pick what order everyone finishes in? Or do we pick who we think will win? What if we pick the same team as someone else?
Happy Friday Everyone! Not only is today Casual Friday for me; but it's also Taco Bell Friday! That's even better!
Pick each place for each team 1 to 12 (I think) makes it pretty random.
ReplyDeleteI'm crazy about the Wordl's, it's graphic poetry Rod!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Amazing Race contest sounds, um... amazing!
So what will determine if Sean and his wife show at the Kurth??? the number of invitations?
Sean, come on down to the Kurth on Friday, kay???? (Invite #1) ;)
I think if we each send Sean $1 that would help!!
ReplyDeleteGreat Blog!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday !!!!!!
Yahooo!!!!!! They caught the guy who stole your phone....
That'll teach him!!!!!!
1 More Day for DJ's B-Day!!!!
Sean and his wife need to come down to The Kurth!!!!
They will have some fun!!!

Grinder! ROFLMAO!!!
ReplyDeleteOsh--you must come on down next Friday to Kurths! Hope you can make it!
ReplyDeleteJenny--Casual Friday AND TACO BELL day? How did you get so lucky?? :)
Shakes-- I LOVE your new picture--that is SO CUTE! :)
Robbie--You are so awesome! :)
Sean and wife-please come on down to the Kurth!! We promise we are harmless for the most part. Lets see...was that invite # 3 or 4???
Wow! So much information, I don't know where to begin.
ReplyDeleteBefore my husband became a Movie Star, he always wanted to be on the Amazing Race. However, he has never found someone that is willing to be his team mate. I said that I would do it, but that we would probably end up divorced. I'd be freaking out and yelling directions. It would not be pretty. They might even have to bleep out a few things if I do any driving.
So I guess if the new season is coming on I know where my family will be. Planted in front of the tv.
LOL Grinder!
ReplyDeleteANYTIME you want to give me $50,000 I'll guaranty a return to you of $2,600!!! Please, just do the borrowing at your present financial institution
Grinder, wonderful news about Walgreens (I hope). I'm sure you can have your phones switched. They'll just put your number on the new one and the old one will be "dead". Don't know how they would work the insurance you have on this one though; if that can be transferred or not.
ReplyDelete*inks in KURTH for October 3*
ReplyDeleteawww...osh and evan coming to the brewery on oct. 3...
ReplyDeletehomecoming for both columbus AND lakeside...grrrrrrr.
its gonna be a whositless night...sry we wont be there!
Since Kim just asked me - that was NOT my 9mm Glock! It's a very ostentatious gun in my view.
ReplyDeleteI of course prefer a small Colt semi-automatic for personal (not business) use.
And of course a Tommy Gun for parties.

ReplyDeleteYAY! They found the guy who has your phone!!
ReplyDeleteThose pics of words are way too funny! I got caught up!!
I don't watch the amazing race, but maybe I will give it a shot. I am in a survivor pool, so I hope I win!!! I didn't last year, but the year before that I did! YAY!
Making Wordle's are fun!
ReplyDeleteDiane and I will be Kurthing it next Friday, thanks for the invite. I'll bring some hops. Let me know if you want "wet" or "dry" or both. I look forward to the Carriage Classic Ale, nice! We've been wanting to go ever since we moved to town.
ReplyDeleteI'll be picking some more hops this weekend.
