I have heard from unreliable sources, random rumors and things I'm just making up that during editing of PE Michael Mann became so upset at certain actors he blew a gasket and said he was dumping the entire project.
But - lets talk about important stuff. The above will be continued below. Lets talk about ME!
My beer window is running out!! With cold weather on the way the strains of yeast I use are changing and with it the types of beer I can brew. The Columbus Carriage Classic brew is on borrowed time. Right now I'm fermenting a Cream Ale at 66 degrees. The yeast used in the CCCAle has a bottom temp of 60.
I have the perfect lagering basement except for the lack of massive amounts of refrigerators! You see to have a correct lager I would need to put a 5 gallon Carboy in a 35 degree frig for 8 weeks. Screw that - I need to DRINK that beer.
My goal with all this is to become an award winning brewer so I'm looking into entering some contests. I'll have to plan about three months ahead of time so I'm looking at late January contests.
Enough Beer talk.
I need to go to that movie "The Secret Life of Beers" sounds interesting.
========================
I hope everyone has voted.
Did you know that Australia has a 95% turnout for voting? Of course if they DON'T vote they get fined. Malta has a normal system and they get a 93% turnout. Mozambique has a 23% turnout. The U.S. has been moving towards 50% and are pretty apathetic for the most part (not counting this year). However the stat's are a little misleading.
The reason is that the entire voting age is surveyed and with booming immigration many of the people surveyed are unable to vote. The turnout is actually pretty steady (until today).
One thing is that voting seems to be a "habit". Once a person votes he/she tend to continue voting. With so many new voters this is a wonderful thing happening today and I feel this truly is one of the greatest days in American History just because of that.
No matter who wins and who it's the "Participation Ribbon" the fact that this contest has energized people that normally do not feel patriotic enough to vote will have ramifications for the next 100 years if not more.
Time line for tonight's Poll Closings - the important states.
6:00 CDT
Indiana and Virginia.
6:30 CDT
Ohio, North Carolina and West Virginia
7:00 CDT
Pennsylvania, New Hampshire Missouri and Florida.
8:00 CDT
Minnesota, Wisconsin,New Mexico, Colorado Michigan and Arizona.
9:00
Iowa, Kansas, Montana, Nevada and Utah.
10:00 the final real votes.
just put 77 Electoral votes in Obama pockets - those states are in the bank already.

GOT GAS?
Sounds like we are heading towards gasoline at less then $2. Already some states are averaging $1.99 per gallon and the OPIS gas experts are saying the national average should bottom out below $2.
The markets overreacted to the upside and now they are overreacting to the downside. This is great for gas stations who had a profit margin of about 8 cents per gallon a few months ago. Their margin is now about 40 cents and they are able to pay off a lot of debt.

Public Enemies - GOTCHA!!!
I can't believe you fell for that. You flipped by the entire blog to read about Public Enemies and you KNEW (I even told you) it was just poopy talk.
You see I had to do something to get ya all stirred up. You've become complacent. There is a fine line between comfort and boredom. This is true in many things. For instance, when was the last time you changed your living room. Not a big change but put a chair over there instead over here. We moved a small couch into the living room last weekend just to change things up.
Or take a business. Customers come in and see the same set-up all the time. Perhaps you should change things around just a tad. Give customers a slightly different view, make them look at things again. Open their eyes.
Websites are always changing . A few years ago people would change a site just for the sake of changing and that was wrong. Humans like comfort but after a while they stop looking - then is when you change a website but NOT drastically.
Bars should always be tweaking their beers on tap. Nothing major but offering new things keep people interested. If they know that MAYBE today there will be something new it keeps them coming.
Sort of like our dog when we say "Come along?" He knows he gets to go for a car ride and gets all hyper. Typically it's a boring run to the store but every once in a while it's something totally dog awesome. It keeps him coming back for more even though 90% of the time it's the same old trip.
See ya
Rod

Nice blog Rod and NO I did not fall for your shamless poopy tactics!!!
ReplyDeletelmao!! (fun to type poopy on a blog!)
I got to read yesterday's blog but fell asleep somehow before I could accomplish a comment... long day!
bye! gotta go VOTE!!!!!!!
Election Day is now April Fool's?
ReplyDeletetee heee...
ReplyDeleteI didn't fall for the poopy stuff either! (Hey, that is fun)!!
ReplyDeleteI never liked the "predictions" before an election is done. Let's just all shut up, and vote under the premise that our vote DOES count. Sometimes, our world has gotten too in our face.
It's all news, all the time. [sigh]
That being said, as soon as my clothes are in the dryer and the next load is washing, I'm out the door to vote.
:)
PS-"The Secret Life of Beers"
rotflmao, good one!
suz is 100% correct and I took some words off - I apologize.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't blasting you personally, Rod. Sorry if you took it that way. It's just the general media play we have every single election, where they tell us before we vote who won. I really think that discourages a lot of voters from even going through the hassle of standing in line.
ReplyDeleteI really wasn't directing that at you, just expressing my cranky self. ;)
Happy voting, everyone! I just went in Columbus and was in and out quickly, but they said they have been busy.
ReplyDeleteGreat Blog!!!
ReplyDeleteVOTE!!!
I almost fell for it!!!LOL!!!
Change is a good thing...
I change my stuff around all the time..
Like right now I am going from Spook's to Pilgrims,Cornucopia and Turkeys!
Next will be be from Pilgrim's,Cornucopia and Turkeys to Reindeer,Snowmen and Santa's
Oh My! *smiles*
I hope your Beer doesn't put you over the edge with less Hop's and such unavailable at high demand.LOL!!
Get outside today and enjoy the weather!!!
Have a good Day everyone!!
Rod,
ReplyDeleteNice car in that header! Get out and VOTE, either way it has got to get better than what we have now! I am telling you “Oh Johnny!” Is the hit of 2009
Graham Man
No no - suz - you said something that I agree with. I didn't take it as anything more then that.
ReplyDeleteRead the comment and said "yea - I agree" and took a few words off.
tee hee Suz, I'm feeling you! I think lots of folks are cranky. I almost danced on the way to my polling place (yes it is walking distance!) so excited that I don't have to hear any more political ads after today!!!!
ReplyDeletewooo hoooo!
ps: i didn't mind your words Rod!
My vote was duly noted. 250th in my district, and 749th in Columbus.
ReplyDelete:D
It's a brisk pace down there, for sure, but no waiting to speak of, which is awesome! That's the best part of living in a small town at polling time.
And the shopping cart out front is getting pretty darn full of food items. I plunked in a donation there too, thanks to your heads up on that. Thanks!
You are suppose to put food IN the cart?
ReplyDeleteOOPS!!
I was in and out lickety split! I waited only for one guy to register before I could grab my ballot (also number 700 something) No place to donate anything, they handed me a bottle of water on the way out along with my 'I voted' sticker...
ReplyDeleteno one polled me on the way in or out, yippee!
Sorry about the beer problems. I know you'll work around it! You'll just have to put in one of those walk-in coolers!
ReplyDeleteDh and I will vote as soon as we both finish with work (about 4:30; probably when things start to get backed up). I'm taking my Public Enemies book along. If there's a long line, I'll get lots read and if not, that's great. I win either way!
Have you gotten more postcards to Walgreens, Rod? Whoo hoo on selling 100 in four days!
Oh; and the Michael Mann bit didn't fool me one bit! His backers wouldn't allow him to scrap it. Nor would WE!!!! lol
ReplyDeleteyup - wally has 100 more cards! Only wanted 100.
ReplyDeleteGrinder,
ReplyDeleteSome of those times you have listed are CDT. Aren't we done with CDT for this year?
I get sooo confused, do I have to add an hour for CST, or subtract???
Kind of like when I look up the start time for a Badger Game and they are listed in EST (or EDT) AUGH! lol
LMAO ROD!!!!! You ALMOST got me. I waited patiently to read through ALL your blog...before the big reveal!!! You are such a stinker!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteGet drinking that beer! No room for fridges! LOL
Off to vote! Bye!
Hi Rod, Still reading your blog even though you have started making things up just to get a headline. Keep this up and maybe one of the tabloids will call youu with a job offer.
ReplyDeleteI didn't fall for it either.
While we are making things up, I would like to make a prediction that the Public Enemies trailer is released first week December.
This is based on Michael Mann's last big summer pic "Miami Vice" had a trailer in first week of December 2005 for July 2006 release date.
Also Universal have Frost/Nixon opening 5 Dec which is R-rated and so could be a rating compatible movie to show the Public Enemies trailer with.
I have absolutely no inside knowledge and am anonymous so have nothing to lose when I am wrong.
Well - I had to shake things up a little - you are lucky YOUR anonymous name was not used! OH - I had plans LOL!!
ReplyDeleteMAN - I can not get away with anything anymore.
Good prediction though - sounds like a good solid rumor.
TY - appreciate the knowledge.
Cheers
I voted I voted....
ReplyDeletewow I almost feel for the scrapped movie thing and then was like "no" and read every word without looking ahead....
But thanks for the keeping us on our toes...
Tracy/Cricket
BTW Rod...I love the new pic!
ReplyDeleteyou should have used this post for Halloween and just wrote a big
ReplyDeleteBOO @ the bottom of the page....it did scare me for a few seconds.....sorry Rod, your sources are good but you wouldn't be able to scoop that story......
Happy Voting everyone...looks like a heavy turnout everywhere YIPPEE
"You've become complacent"
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Rod!
:-dons his birthday suit (last used two weeks ago) and runs around the complex-:
I'm not complacent...I'm apathetic.
Your blog has become boring. NO wonder you chose to spice it up with a lie.
ReplyDeleteSOMEONE is having a bad night LOL.
ReplyDeleteIf 'm boring . . .don't read it. I've been boring for a few years now - I don't have a clue why ANY of you read this drivel.
Rod,
ReplyDeleteI read your blog because it makes me smile!
It's GREAT to see my home town throught some "new eyes". The more I'm here...the more it becomes "normal". I need adnormal!!!!
I WISH I had new eyes. I need reading glasses over my contacts - seems sort of redundant!
ReplyDeleteBTW - the world is happy tonight!
Wait until tomorrow....! LOL
ReplyDeleteGood night friend! ;>)
ReplyDeleteActually that was supposed to be a :.)...no "wink" intended. LOL
ReplyDeleteWould you believe :>)? Too late at night!
ReplyDeleteI think you're getting a little friendly buddy! ;-}
ReplyDeleteill have you know that i rearranged my entire room today. so no complacency here. and you never can be sure when MM is involved
ReplyDeleteI think the winker needs to put his clothes back on before he turns into a wanker!
