I refuse to be French!

as always - click on the photo to enlarge it for better viewing

Lots of talk on when the Public Enemies DVD is coming out (and not the Batman: Public Enemies DVD which is December 8th) . December 8th seems to be the most guessed at date with Europe a month earlier. October 26th has been getting some air play and many video stores are saying November 11th.

As yet nothing official so it's all speculation unless someone can point a news release to me.

Speaking of Johnny Depp and Columbus.

Columbus should have a WALK OF FAME. Yea - it would only have one star but it's a start. I can see it on the corner by Sharrow Drugs!! It would be awesome.
-------------------------

It's really too bad that the flash on my camera no longer works since I got the camera it "fixed". I rarely use a flash but when I tried it, it was . . . absent. GRRRRR

But here is a enhanced Milo photo. He loves to work on the computer when DJ's attention is somewhere else. All sorts of damage by hitting multiple buttons can be accomplished.

------------------------------

I was driving home yesterday in the wind and with the passing cold front the clouds were very wonderful so I took a few turns off the main highway and took some photos. Nothing totally exciting but it's Wisconsin farmland for people around the world that were wondering what Wisconsin farmland looked like in early fall.

I really like the different shades of brown the fields have this time of year.

I'm kind of flying blind here as I can not see exactly what I'm doing. This monitor only has like 2 colors and all are dark so . . . . . . I'm guessing.

While I was taking that last photo a little friend came up the road and was checking me out. After I patted him on his head and behind the ears he moved on and continued up the road. Finding my car he proceeded to pee on my wheels.

This photo I WAS going to say "I'm just playing around" but I hate it when people say that because it's a backdoor excuse in case people don't like it.

Was I just playing around? Of course I was. But if I didn't think it was worthy of posting . . . . I would not post it. I do love to experiment though!

Of course when I get home and see it on a monitor with correct color perhaps I'll delete all of these.

this really needs to be viewed larger - remember - you can press Ctrl and mouse wheel to
increase/decrees the size of photos

this makes a nice background for your computer

As for suz.

I believe we agree to disagree on Favre. However I think we agree to agree on how Thompson has drafted such a magnificent front line to protect Rogers. I see now that Mark Tauscher is talking to the Packers. I think he will be getting a larger contract now then a month ago LOL. I also have to think that the lack of pass rush on Favre Monday was not entirely the defense PLAYERS fault and I'm not in love with some of the strategy's Capers is using "in-game".

The good news is that Vikings could lose 3 of their next 4 games and I'm thinking they will go 6-6 the rest of the way . . . unless they are better then I think. I know THEY think they are basically Superbowl bound but I'm not convinced at all.

I believe it will be a dog fight (without Vick) with GB, Chi and Minn.

In 1871 the Peshtigo started consuming 2 BILLION trees and killing between 1,200 and 2,400 people. An odd fact is tomorrow, in 1871, the Great Chicago fire started. The Mayor of Chicago owned most of the trees and area that was consumed in the Peshtigo so that dude had a very bad week. Most of the buildings in Chicago were built of wood from the Peshtigo area.

The fire was so hot a fire tornado JUMPED Green Bay into Door County!

In 1774 Britain passed the Quebec Act, making Wisconsin part of the province of Quebec.

Ayez un mercredi merveilleux

  1. Wow. Wow.
That final, "painterly" photo is incredible.
Gotta ask: if you were to sell prints of your photos, how much would an 8.5x11 or so be? The fact that I'm asking that whilst in the ongoing morass of such a poor economy speaks volumes, buddy.

  2. I put a texture on that one to simulate how it would look on canvas and I also sent an email to my canvas person (before you asked) on what a small 8x12 canvas would cost me.

BTW - I can't wait top see what the REAL colors are like at home LOL.

I'll email you when I find out.

BTW - I have it as my background on the computer - looks nice

  3. I agree with M...that last one blown up (as you suggested) is a-maze-ing! I'd also like to know a real time price if you could pass that along. (Have a feeling photos of Wisconsin will be comforting a year from now). :o

I get my own call out! Wow, thanks. ;)

I think the Vikings are better than you think, but time will tell. One thing we do agree on is that they certainly exposed the weaknesses of the Pack. TT is under close scrutiny; that's good enough for me. Don't discount the injury factor as time goes on. A healthier Packer O-line might benefit Rodgers. [Understatement]

The opposite is true for the Vikes. If they have some injuries, they could be a much weaker team than they stand today. I'm glad we got to see the "nothing special" in Favre Monday though!

  4. Rod,

Great Blog! Interesting about the peshtigo fire. I had read somewhere awhile ago I will have to try to look it up again that the peshtigo fire was started by the Chicago fire but if your information is correct it couldn't have because it was a day earlier. HUH! Now I have to do research.

  5. One more thing about the Vikings - they are built for carpet and will not be nearly as fast on the long soft grass of Green Bay. Having perfect footing had to help whats his name who sacked Rogers like 15 times.

  7. If you ever get a chance, go to the Peshtigo fire museum. It is really intersting. There are lots of neat artifacts there. For example, my step-father-in-law's grandfather's bible that made it through the fire unscathed. Right by the museum is a very old cemetary with lots of headstones from fire deaths. Fascinating.

    link from Johnny Depp Reads

    french to english
    translation from Babelfish:
"American Blu-Ray of Public Enemy is announced for December 8 but the detail of the no-claims bonus is not yet officially known. However, the office of English classification (BBFC) which validates all the elements which are on the dvd in England, has just made public on its site some interesting information. The film would be to propose in two versions (cinema and Director' S Cut) as the presence of an audio comment of Michael Mann shows it. One is unaware of still the additions or subtractions of this new assembly but the next weeks should inform us on these changes. - Public Making Enemy (20 min.) - PUBLIC ENEMY - THEATRICAL FEATURE COMMENTARY [Additional material, Director' S audio commentary] - PUBLIC ENEMY [Additional material, Audio commentary, EXTENDED FEATURE"

  13. Rod, You are a very good photographer! I love that last picture of the barn and clouds, just beautiful. Your town should definitly do some type of star or plaque or even something bigger to remember the wonderful event of filming "Public Enemies"
