It's all about Brent

Today is the day I guess. The big game as we are being told. I'm sickened at the talking heads that seem to know nothing but want to hype. Favre vs. Green Bay.

One guy on ESPN said that Aaron Rogers HAS to win because Green Bay fans are getting antsy and are demanding a winner. . . .what?? we are?? I'm not sure but I feel Green Bay fans are realists and like the Packers win or lose.

Another talking head said Green Bay fans are conflicted on who to root for. Favre and the Vikings or the Packers. Well, anybody that cheers for Favre is not a Green Bay fan in my book. Favre is just another player, he has proven that. Nothing special.

Then there was an interview with Favre and how he is the victum in all this and Packer fans have to "move on". I believe we have, you are a Viking player and thus we hate you! And how are you the victum here? If I remember you retired twice?

Of course the announcers tonight will be all gushing at how well Favre hands the ball off so expertly to Peterson and how his dink and dunk 5 yard passes are so precisionistic and how he is a God because his receivers can make amazing catches and give Favre the credit.

If you are looking for some numbers to compare Favre to Rogers , Football Outsiders, the Bill James of football rank Favre as the #16 best QB in the NFL and Rogers as #10 if you look at all "like" plays compared to all other QB's on "like" plays (meaning if all QB's had the same situations how would they rank). Favre is an average QB now on a very good running team. They have a front like that is VERY good at run blocker and VERY bad at pass blocking, almost as bad as the Green Bay pass blocking.

So the betting public is about 50/50 on taking or giving points. The spread is -3.5 with Vikings being the fav. In straight up W/L the public is voting the Vikings in a landslide.

Then moving off topic is Ted Williams's head. I seems there is a story coming out by a former employee of Alcor Life Extension Foundation that an official swung a monkey wrench at the frozen slugger’s head in an attempt to knock a can of tuna off of it.

OK, I'll let that one digest that a little. tick tick tick.

So what is the complaint here? That he swung a monkey wrench at the head? No mention is made to WHY a tuna can got stuck to it in the first place.

Trick or Treat - WHO decides on when Trick or Treat is and why do they want to ruin the fun for kids. I find it absurd that we have Trick or treat during the Packer game on a Sunday.

COME ON PEOPLE - Trick or Treat is a form of extortion and should be done at night! If your child is young they will have parents with them ANYWAY right? Good Grief - let's take ALL the fun out of a wonderful play time. Here is an idea - why not have Trick or Treat ON HALLOWEEN????? weird?

Perhaps we should have Easter Egg Hunts a week before Easter and Christmas on December 18th!

But - I digress.

HEY - next Saturday is the 2nd Annual Tractor Show and Lions Club brat sale extravaganza! Held yearly on the boulevard since 2008 this event will have more then 25 ancient tractors with blacksmiths and woodcarving demos with live music from 11:00 top 1:00
