to your Health

So I hop in my car heading towards Miller Park and I hear Dan Patrick the sports commentator talking about how he has been suicidal for the last few years,  drinking himself to sleep and literally forgetting how to start a car.  Popping Prednisone (which is a REALLY REALLY bad and horrible drug) like candy for pain.

Seems he has been suffering from Polymyalgia rheumatica which he described as the flu without the vomit and nothing he could do was fixing the issue.  For 7 years every joint on his body felt like it was going to explode.  24/7

Now he is asking his viewers to just realize that because of a lite chemo he has been doing for 5 months and for 5 more months, he, at times, suffers from brain fog and will just completely forget what he was talking about, and like last week WHO he is talking too.

He has gottin better in the last month which is why he had a teary "knock on wood" confession.

It REALLY makes you realize how critical  health is when you get older.  He is 2 years younger then I am.  People seem to take health for granted but when it's gone . . .it's gone.  You can say you will quit cigarettes but if you don't do it now . . when will you?  When it's too late?  You can say you will drop that extra 40 pounds . . but when exactly . . .when it's too late?

If you don't take care of your health NOW and eat better NOW . . . do you REALLY think you will later?

I saw one thing that actually works for NOT eating crap like desserts.  Don't say "NO - I will not eat it".  Say - "I will eat it LATER."

You are not denying yourself totally.  Sometimes you WILL eat it later but sometimes you won't.

Just say - Maybe later.

Balderdash and I went the Brewer "game?" yesterday. Had as much fun as you can having watching the Crew fall behind by 7 in the 2nd inning.

Welcome to the NLs WORST Starting pitching staff.  5.02 ERA.  I commented to balderdash that Peralta was going to be the sacrificial lamb and would not be taken out until he game up 10 runs.

With  so many bull pen pitchers going the night before he was goign to have to go 4 innings AT LEAST - no matter how bad he was, and he was bad.

O'well.

Going to get the trailer today for sale.  Cost $1800 and used maybe 25 times for art fairs  - covered 5x8 - mint condition going for $1000.  We don't use it anymore and it's costing $100 a month for storage.

Photos coming!

I'l really looking at a TREK Domain AL 3 - switch out the brakes and get better tires. . . when I sell the trailer (and trade in my Giant).  I'll have a trail bike where I ride more upright with DJ and a road bike for . . zooming - gotta get back into biking shape.  Used to put on 1000 miles a summer easily

Bikes are SO much better then 15 years ago.

Cheers
