Unintended deck consequence and a free video tripod

When we built our house the back faced dead south. 100% sunshine on the back. We had a 10x10 deck attached to our sun-room and when we tramped into the snow with the builder we were discussing  another 10x10 deck and just before I broke my knee cap we pulled the trigger and said do it.

Unintended consequence.

That deck, whenever it is about 75 degrees is totally useless as it heats up to 95+.  HOWEVER - In the corner, in spring and late winter it can be 25 degrees warmer then the surrounding area.

Last weekend when the temperature was a cool 43 DJ and I were in tee shirts all afternoon as my hand held thermometer was reading 63.  YEA - THAT MUCH!   This past weekend we were in shorts and tee shirts both days and were a little too warm.

Totally useless in another month but so so great starting February as long as the wind is from the north or light from the south.

Last Saturday we took part in the Jump Around which is now a weekly event it seems on Saturdays.  There were 3 other houses on Vista Circle taking part.  Gus thought it was the greatest thing ever.

***********

Across from us is the 16th fairway and then a farm field and then waste land where houses were suppose to go up (that is a LARGE area over there).  But the great recession (10% unemployment, expect 15+% for the April numbers) nixed the houses.

When Enerpac was being built all of the dirt filled in a 20 foot deep quarry and built an 30 foot hill in it's place.  Gus and I were investigating and there is still a small lake and . . . .something.  A duffel bag?

DJ mentioned this to Josh who had 4 days off from saving lives at the 100% Corvid19 only hospital in Madison.  It tweaked his interest so he went to get it.

Inside was a brand new video tripod with instructions and everything.  Looks like it was never used. Weird.

I talked to a Columbus police officer yesterday and he suggested it MIGHT have been used for coyote hunting ??  but it looked like it was just tossed aside like it was stolen.

Friday I  spent talking to Madison aldermen and Madison Metro.

Elweed works on the square as a low payed cleaner but Madison Metro changed their bus schedules. They have buses going inbound on The Wash only once an hour AND a max of 16 people.  Here is the problem.  Madison moved all of the "homeless" panhandlers to the far east side hotels which  created massive issues.

1. Now when they need a doctor they are shipped to the 100% Corvid19 hospital only ER when all they want are free drugs.

2. NOW - with all buses free they are the first to get on the free bus for a ride around town and to the square so when Elweed and other REAL workers need a bus.  It's full already. When there IS room the bus is filled with filthy homeless people who have not bathed literally for weeks.

If you are in Madison and see people selling newspapers for anything - those are ACTUALLY homeless - they are working and can use your help. They are people that lost their jobs and are literally homeless.

The ones just BEGGING?  They make $100+ a day tax free and get free hotel rooms. The people with signs can make $200 a day, tax free.

So I talked to 3 alderpersons who all said Elweed is not alone with this problem and I actually talked to Madison Metro who really wanted to help and understood the issue.

A quick baseball note.  In my years of playing SOM nobody has ever used Coors field as their home field.   This year a team in my division switched ball parks (once every 3 years is the rule) and OH MY GOD!!

I now understand.  LITERALLY, you can be up or down 6 runs with 3 innings to go and you are nowhere near safe.    I was losing 9-3 in the 7th inning and felt it was a good time to save some at bats as you only get 110% of actual at bats.

I lost the game 10-9

In the last game I was winning 4-2 in the 6th inning in a tight game. I won 14-4. I never ever felt safe and relaxed even up by 10 runs LOL

MLB Network had a special on Bob Uecker last night - hilarious.  He was on Johnnie Carson over 100 times.   The Yankees and the Red Sox both tried to hire him out of Milwaukee.

Ueck's Hall of Fame Speech.  100% adlib.  No notes. He just went up an d started talking

Bob Uecker is inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame

We are so so lucky to have him in Milwaukee for 49 years.

We went to Sun Prairie Saturday and 80% of the people inside were wearing masks. Went to True Value in Columbus after which had more people in the place then the post office.  I was the only one with a mask.  COME ON PEOPLE.  Don't be shy.  Find someone who makes masks and wear them.

It's sad how Wisconsin GOP want a small turnout to gain power and are insisting we vote in person during then National Disaster. Who needs seniors anyway. Put THEM in harms way so the GOP can retain power.  THAT my friends is corruption.

It's also sad how Ron Johnson STILL believes the virus is overblown.

He LITERALLY said more people are killed in cars every year and we don't shut down business.   He also said that even if 3.5% of all Americas were killed it would not be THAT big of a deal.

Let's see.  35,000 people are killed in cars and 3.5% of Americans is 11 million.  And he is a businessman who is good with numbers?  Or just a blubbering buffoon.

Nuff said -  low 70s Tuesday!
