Thought I would post at least ONE shot - this was ABOUT 30 seconds ago.
And Karen of Johnny Deep Reads - his security guy scares the CRAP out of me.
I have more but they need work at MY Base Camp. They still have 2 more hours of filming so it's not the last we will see of Mr. Depp.
lOOK AT THAT FACE. HE KNOWS HOW MUCH IT MEANS TO US FANS WE SEE IT. BLESS HIM
ReplyDeletePerfect. Thanks a bunch!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome photo! I already set it as the background for my computer!
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait for more, keep 'em coming!

ReplyDeletespammela - STEP AWAY FROM THE COFFEE
ReplyDeleteSaw him a few times driving in and out of basecamp today. Seemed like a very nice guy. Tipped his hat to the crowd.
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, thank you! I plan on coming up tomorrow, a couple hour drive & hope I haven't missed out on all the action.
ReplyDeleteAwww that face!! Thanks Rod for the pic!
ReplyDeleteSo Rod, ya met his head of security did ya!? He's really a nice guy, I got to chat with him once. But he takes his job REAL seriously.
You're the best for posting all this stuff today!
Here are some of my pics from today.

Thank you, very cool photos. Was Johnny there most of the day? Do you know if there's a chance he'll be there tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteawesome awesome...even though i'm not there...you folks are making me feel like i am!!thankyou all so much for all your work..i guess it's not work when you love the guy!xo
ReplyDeleteOh what a beautiful picture. Thanks so much for sharing! I just love reading your blog!!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME blog!
ReplyDeleteThank you soooo much!
Great pics!
What an event to witness!
Johnny is sooo generous to his fans! What a nice person!
Keep the stuff coming!!!! We are loving it! :)
Thanks ty for sharing those pics with everyone. We do appreciate it so much!
ReplyDeleteRod - Hopefully you are not refering to Jerry as being scarey. He is a complete sweetheart who manages to protect Johnny while helping his fans.
ReplyDeleteI was there on Fri to see the set. I really want to go down there today and tomorrow. But I couldn't, maybe I will try tomorrow. I have been a really big history buff since I can remember. John Dillinger and Al Capone are my 2 big interests. When I herd them doing this movie I was freaking out a lot. I really hope I can see them film the movie. I wouldn't even mind not seeing a really big star, just to say I got to see them film the movie I would be the happest girl on earth.
ReplyDeleteAlso thankyou to the nice women who I was talking to and let me use her friends bathroom at there house! :)
ReplyDeleteNice job, Grinder. Did you take the week off work? Pretty cool you moved to that town just recently. What a beautiful little town you have.
ReplyDeleteI'm really missing your bowling updates on your other blog - NOT!!!
Do anyone know Jerry's last name?(johnny's head of security)
ReplyDeleteJerry *can* be a sweetheart, but that's not his job. His job is to keep Johnny safe at all times. He takes his job very seriously and can be very threatening in new and different situations. That's why Johnny uses him. Don't ever underestimate him.
ReplyDeleteHAHA! Nice. They're in Oshkosh too. Exciting. Keep up the great paparazzi work.
ReplyDeleteOH MAN!! i am so mad! He got out of the same Ford about 30 feet away from me [I was by the fitness center place...across the street from Fowler's] and everyone was screaming "JOHNNY!!" but I couldn't figure out which one was him...even after people pointed him out to me haha. My dad was across the street and he waved at my dad's crowd, grr. Apparantly he got out of the black Ford, went into the white tents, and was ushered into another car. Siiigh.
ReplyDeleteThere were definately not 10000 people there, though. And it was a lot more exciting than I thought it would be--I heard "rolling!" yelled at least 5 times in the hour or so I was there. I would encourage everyone to gooo!!
Greetings from California!Great pic Rod!! Thanks so much. Johnny is so appreciative of his fans and I can imagine ever more so of all that were braving the weather today. Keep us informed---love the blog.
ReplyDeletety thanks for the links to your pics as well--wonderful!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, Rod, huge thanks for wonderful blog!!!! If it will be pleasant for you to hear words of gratitude from Russia. I visit your blog seven days a week and I`m absolutely happy to read about every detail.
ReplyDeleteBut I have very modest request. I know, the fans of Mr. Depp will ridicule me, but my friends and I want to hear something about the other actor. Please!!! If, you can be touched by the request of several lovely girls: two words about David Wenham! Just say - is he there?
YOu won't believe the shot I got of CP high fiving Johnny LOL
ReplyDeleteI'll have a blog tomorrow!!!
Hey, thanks for all the updates you are doing a great job!
ReplyDeleteJerry is adored by the Depp fandom, because he takes really good care of Johnny and the fans as well. Nice ouy. He's not someone you would mess with though - were you getting in the way?
Greetings from the UK!
David Wenham will be in Columbus tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHe slapped my hand!!!!!!! You have to post the pic!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDude! Johnny Depp's security guy Jerry seriously scares me. He looks like a mafia hit man. I'm sure he's very nice and obviously does an awesome job protecting Johnny. He is just very intimidating, which I suppose is his job.
ReplyDeleteWe want to see all the pics! Johnny high fiving!!
ReplyDeleteUgh! Come on! I want to see the shot of CP and JD!!!!!! You are so lucky girl!!!!!
ReplyDeleteRob,
ReplyDeleteAwesome to meet you today and thanks for the bathroom. That is awesome you got the high five. I hope he didn't do autographs but I figured something cool would happen after we left. But after 8 hours, I couldn't stand out there anymore.... I was frozen solid :)
See you tomorrow, same place!!
I want to say thanks to all of you I met today. It was a grueling yet fun 16 hours was it not?
ReplyDeleteWOW!
Fabulous shot! I got one shot of him earlier as they were filming down my street, but it's more blurry. Better luck tomorrow! Can't wait to see what else you got. It was fun watching him drive away tonight. I yelled to you, but you didn't hear me and I wasn't losing my spot on top of the snowpile. Ha.
ReplyDeleteY'all are just the best! I'm so excited that you've let us all join in your party here!
ReplyDeleteWhooHoo--a high five from Johnny! Can't wait to see the pics and read your blog tomorrow Rod! Thanks to all of you for sharing your experiences with us!
ReplyDeleteFantastic shot! We were about 20 feet west of you, then, near the front corner of the fire department. We heard the crowd's delighted gasp, followed by laughter and shouting, and then saw the hand come out of the open window. Just the hand. So now we know it was really him!
ReplyDeleteI did get a great look at Michael Mann for a few minutes, but my pic turned out blurry. Confounded murky daylight, anyway.
It may take a while for me to thaw...
-Mary (from just nort' of town)
Rod - met you today in Columbus. Sent the pic to your email. Love this pic of Johnny - that's the one we missed by being on the wrong side of the road!!! What a fun day!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what else you capture! Heather
I'm still frozen and my face is bright red from being outside in the cold for so long.
ReplyDeleteThose pics on imdb right now and are all over the net must have surely come from someone right on the set. I'm curious to see yours. Are you publishing in the local press as well? Could you tell me you exact time as here in Perth I am 14 hours ahead of New York what would you be?
ReplyDeleteGreat pic CP!!
ReplyDeleteOMG!!!!! Depp is so cute!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhere are the pictured on IMDB????
ReplyDeleteSome of those on IMDB ARE mine - they were stolen from the blog!
ReplyDeleteDidn't see Depp today...but it was exciting seeing all the movie folks around my street, and being part of the downtown crowd. Scott, who posted your pics on this blog--can you email me? I have a request. PackerGirl@gmail.com Thanks! Wish I'd have run into some you today. Maybe tomorrow.... :) SO FUN!!!
ReplyDeleteviola - we're -6 GMT.
ReplyDeleteThose photos are from a local news paper and from this blog - I really don't mind but I would like to have had credit!
I'm sorry they took your pics Rod. I know the feeling all too well. The least people can do is ask and give credit where credit is due.
ReplyDeletePersonally I don't mind but I'm thinking the Associated Press might mind a little LOL
ReplyDeleteA compliment sort off.
I was wondering...when was the photo, with the girl hitting Johnny's hand/giving Johnny a high-five, taken? I spent most of the day in my house since I was told to stay inside (due to filming). However, I never saw them come down my road. :( I finally decided to go outside and walk around on the streets to find a crowd or to see the car. The crowd and I kept being told different stories, and I was never in the right spot at the right time. Therefore, I wasn't able to see any filming/actors/etc. I was really looking forward to seeing the filming process. Well to end the evening, I went back downtown to see if they might still be shooting there; it seemed that everyone was leaving and they were packing up. I'm hoping your photo wasn't around there...I'll be kind of upset if I left a minute too early. Anyway, thanks for your photos! Also, does anyone know when filming will begin tomorrow? (Sorry for the long post.)
ReplyDeletePhoto was on Water Street right in front of the Base Camp about 8:30.
ReplyDeleteCrowd of maybe 100 stood there for an hour.
Rod! You are still up!!! I thought you'd be resting up for another big day. Thanks for your photos - that is wonderful one of CP!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: I feel the same way you do! We got the notice in the door, the whole spiel, then they never came down Prairie. Rather, I come online to see pictures here of photos taken while I was patiently waiting for the "scenic" parts on my street. It's a little frustrating to know that I could have walked down and over one block and had pictures like Scott posted. :(
ReplyDeleteIt was still an awesome day. I'm beat, and a little disappointed that I don't have a pic of JD on my camera, but I rest well in the knowledge that Johnny Depp spent time in my neighborhood. :) Still, I was hoping for my millisecond of fame when I spotted the corner of my house in a bigass movie from Universal!
:D
We will live another day. I go to bed happy tonight!
some of the photos on IMDB are also mine...grrr:) what a great day wish i could have stayed longer. bringing my girlfriend and my brothers dogs who i am dog sitting down tomorrow i think. Should be fun!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for creating this amazing blog! I check in at least once a day since I found out about it on IMDB. I'm hoping they'll be in Crown Point soon, because it's the nearest filming location to my house. I think it'll be such a treat to go because I've never been to a film set before, let alone it be with a movie of someone as awesome as Depp being in it. Keep on posting! :)
ReplyDeletesome of the photos on IMDB are also mine...grrr:) what a great day wish i could have stayed longer. bringing my girlfriend and my brothers dogs who i am dog sitting down tomorrow i think. Should be fun!!
ReplyDeletecp- what a great pic! A high five from Johnny Depp-wow. Sounds like you're all a little tired and cold, but your reports sound like it was all worthwhile. Thanks for the great pics, sorry they're being "pirated" and not credited to you.(Gotta love the net)Looking forward to more reports. Thanks all--good night from CA.
ReplyDeleteI also touched his hand right before CP did. I was the girl who got tackled by security though. It was all worth it though. I traveled 5 hours for this event. And 12 hours in the cold is nothing when for your idol.
ReplyDeleteAlso thanks rod for the great site. I have been following it for a while back home. It was great to see all the transformations and it's great to finally be here. THANK YOU COLUMBUS! You have been the kindest!!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! I wasn't quick enough to get that top shot, but at least I saw him :-)
ReplyDeleteI wish I were there! Thanks everyone for sharing their stories and photos! I may be far away at the moment, but reading your comments and seeing your pictures makes me feel as if I never left the state. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope JD loved his welcoming reception to WI! We LOVE having him here!
