I've been Countryfied

.
I consider, normally, the local elections more important then the National elections (except in this past year). The local elections are the ones that will actually effect you the most. So I'm urging all of you to go and vote today for the candidates I want to win. If you want the other guys, no need to vote - not THAT important.

VOTE for Pete Kaland Mayor
VOTE for Bill Bruns 3rd District
VOTE for Dave Bomkamp 2rd District
====================================
Speaking of Columbus - I got some good news. Remember how I keep saying the Columbus Fireworks are seriously good. I mean surprisingly good and just a tad behind Rhythm and Booms in Madison (I'm not kidding). Well - the two are different style events and there is no music OR crowds in Columbus so I suppose you can not compare the two.

Well - the show will be 33% BIGGER this year as the budget has increased. So if you are looking for something special you really should take a drive to Columbus.

People look at me odd when I talk about the fireworks and I understand that. I too did not believe a town of 4500 could have good fireworks. Maybe good for tiny town but . . . really . . come on now. NO - they are very very good!
====================================

How about those Brewers. Already they are making an impact. I have been reading that CC Sabathia's arm might have bee over used last year by the Brewers and don't expect greatness out of CC.

Well - the Yankees spent $428 million on free agents this last year and CC sucked in his first outing. So sad, to bad.

In other baseball news The Pittsburgh Pirates, even with a victory have been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs this year - so weird. They are now looking towards 2010.
=======================================

Speaking of Country Music. If you have not seen this it's sort of refreshing to see the winner of a major award REALLY appreciate it.

I have to think that when the creators of American Idol came up with the idea they did not think they would find someone that would, four years later, win the biggest award in music, The Performer of the Year. I've been a Carrie Underwood fan for years even though I'm pretty much a hard rock high octane sort of guy.

Check this out dog.

One more little Country thang - HEY - who's that dude!! It's Aaron Rogers hanging with with Hillary Scott from the group Lady Antebellum. Lady Antebellum is yet another Country band I appreciate, I think it's the drums that I like. If you have never heard of Lady Antebellum here they are.

The Columbus 25th Celebration. YIKES!

Well - it SEEMS July 25th is a bad date for Model A drivers as they have their yearly reunion. Make a choice guys, one or the other, we're at war. How many times will you have a chance to be at an official movie celebration.

In other news along with the Xplosion softball players being EVERYWHERE we will have 500 motorcycles entering town for an hour in the Fallen Fireman's Run (or something like that). It's going to be a kick ass day in Columbus on the 25th. I'm hoping to get 20 Picture Cars lining the streets. There will be plenty of food. Tours, swing dancing, children games, the band Janet Planet, Hay Rides, Maxwell Street days and anything else we can think of.
==================

Remember how I was thinking of a Celebrity Vice President Apprentice Reality Show? In episode two we have Todd Palin’s half-sister being arrested AGAIN for breaking into the SAME house and stealing money. I wonder if when she got into the house it seemed familiar?
====================

Have a great day!

  7. I am just so impressed that Janet Planet is coming to Columbus that I had to write again. Who's idea was that anyway? It is just so "not Columbus". That will be better than the fireworks on the 4th.

    WTF maybe Columbus is changing...

    Kudos - T

  8. There is one small problem - timing. 500 cycles will take over the boulevard for 1 hour.

    It was the Rec director??? Across the street. We'll have swing dancers also, not sure if it's a good fit but . . . . .

    Should have 3 or 4 TV stations coming at some point GO ROBBIE!!

    Robbie - I have a phone number for you.

  13. Since both candidates have the same goals we were sort of screwed anyway.

    I'm just happy the two council guys won.
