So it seems Trump Tower, the greatest tower ever built, where the guy dies because of a fire in his apartment . . . . has no sprinkler system.   Trump fought against having them installed because it would cost $4 a foot and he is . . . . . too rich? to afford that?   The building was built before regulations were mandated. Those pesky regulations are for loser liberals I guess.

The guy that died had been trying to sell his place for a while but he could not give it away. Nobody can move out because nobody wants to buy an apartment to live there.

OF COURSE ,while I'm on a roll . . . Trump, the guy that blasted Obama for telling the enemy what he was going to do, told the world, "America is pulling out of Syria", which prompted his buddy Putin and Assad to gas the children of Syria because America was not going to do anything.   

Wise move DOPE!  What a freaking buffoon we have running the country.

WEATHER - Cool today but warming up to above average Wednesday thru Friday as we hit the 60s  . . . and then a crappy weekend.  We actually COULD (with luck) get to 70 on Thursday before thunderstorms Friday. Rain Saturday, ice and snow Sunday with highs not reaching 40 and windy.

The Masters - I tell ya - if you want excitement play a Fanduel tournament for golf. More exciting then the NFL.   I missed out on making money.  I needed to be in 50th place or better.  I ended in 55th place. I blame Alexander Noren, my 2nd most expensive player, for missing the cut and I only got 8.2 points out of him.  I ended with 385 points and missed the money by 8 points.  My next worst player had 51.5 points (Bryson DeChambeau) to give you an idea.

It didn't help when my 3rd most expensive player, Bubba Watson, putted the ball INTO the sand trap.  COME ON - even I have never done that and I had done some pretty stupid things.

I tee'd off once at The Oaks and my ball landed LITERALLY 20 yards behind me.

Have I ever mentioned I golfed a few times with Dwight Armstrong? One of the dudes that bombed Sterling Hall and then connected with the Symbionese Liberation Army while they were holding Patty Hearst?

He worked for Union cab for a while after getting out of prison AGAIN and I am friends with the owners of Union Cab.  He owned The Radical Rye Deli for a while in Madison and died of lung cancer in 2010. The guy smoked like a there was no tomorrow on the course.

A Quiet Place starring Emily Blunt and directed by her husband John Krasinski (Andy in The Office) earned 50 million this weekend.  It cost 17 million to make and was estimated to make 34 million.

MEANWHILE we watched "Battle of the Sexes" starting Emma Stone and Steve Carell and loved it.   Very true to the actual happenings, some slight time shifting but otherwise good. The love between Billy Jean's and her new friend is magnificently done and very . . . . tender and totally understandable.  Great movie - recommended.

The link between crime and immigration

So we were watching the Brewer game in the 8th inning the other night when they were losing.  I told DJ that I had just lost my last two SOM baseball games and my pitcher Leone gave up a freak home run (Home run 1-4 fly out 5-20) to lose the game and he was pitching right now on TV.

I told her I put Leone in for 1 batter and BAM - I lose!

Well, we all saw what happened when for the first time in MLB history a game started with back to back home runs and ended when MY pitcher gave up back to back Home Runs. The good thing was I also have Yelich who hit one so . . . . . .

Then at the Home Opener I heard a friend we call The Black Cloud say he was taking the OVER on the Brewers winning 84.5 games.  Well, I said right here that I was taking the UNDER.  I feel better now that I know he is taking the OVER.  The Brewers are just too thin at Starting pitching.

Then this morning  I read on ESPN that Brewers / Cubs are the next best rivalry in baseball . . . "fake rain outs, feisty fans and two good teams".  REALLY? ESPN is just seeing this?   Next thing you know they will say Packers/Bears are a rivalry!

Then in Columbus. A drug dealer who's facebook page is full of gun loving, NRA backing alt-right fake news garbage gets held up at gun point when selling drugs in Columbus.  What does he do? Well, the next thing you know the guys with guns are arrested for assault and the drug dealer is arrested for . . . . dealing drugs.  That is a drug dealer FAIL in so many ways  LOL

Well done Police Department.  (no really I mean it).

Latest job numbers came out and it's MUCH lower then anticipated but still a winner.  The 90th straight month of job growth.  The PROBLEM is that wages continue to lag behind and there are just not enough workers to fill jobs.

The new IKEA in Milwaukee had to ship in 100+ workers from other states to fill positions for the store.  So . . . .where will FoxConn get their workers? They need like 13,000 low paid  workers right?   Remember, Wisconsin  residents are paying part of THEIR wages (I guess we do that now).

Here is the break down for jobs

2.6% are unemployed AND looking for jobs
49.2% are working full time
11.1% are working part time
1.9% are not looking BUT want a job
35.3% are unemployed and DO NOT WANT a job

Basically America is at full employment.  YET - the GOP keeps harping on how they need to fix the economy.

Take the job numbers and add or subtract 120,000 to get a real idea as every month is revised. 10 of the last 13 months have been revised downward.

OH - Fanduel.  I decided to get into a MASTERs fanduel contest.  I took all the odds for everybody in The Masters and then took all the "salary's" for each golfer and matched them up. That way I could see who was overrated and who was cheap.

After one day I'm in the money because I have Jordon Spieth and Matt Kucher on my team of 6 golfers. I also have Ian Poulter, Bubba Watson, Bryson DeChambeau and Alexander Noren.

Sergio Garcia named his new daughter Azalea, the trademark flower at Augusta.  Yesterday he took a 13 (thirteen) on the 15th hole at August after he dumped 5 (FIVE) balls in the water.  The worst score for a hole in Master History.

ODDLY - I have done that "virtually" at Augusta.  When you have a lot of back spin on those slick greens and are landing the ball on a downhill, you just can not hold those greens.   It is a nightmare.

I, of course voted and one person said "YOU QUIT" (in a friendly way).  No no - I just didn't run.  I said 5 years ago I can do more for Columbus NOT being an alderman. So many projects were put on hold.  Have you seen many NEW photos of Columbus the last 5 years? NO!

It's like a cook that does not cook at home.  I was so engrossed with city stuff I just had to get away from city  . . .. stuff.

BOY I will miss being part of it though. I didn't think I would like it as much as I thought I would.

Never happened before last night in MLB

Brewers/ Cards did something that has never happened before in MLB history.  Back to back homes runs to start a game and back to back home runs to end a game.  I'm glad the Brewers had the last part and not the first.

I am very comfortable with the make-up of City Council and am extremely happy with the outcomes of most of the elections. SADLY the Columbus School board dropped the ball in a school referendum (by not having one) as almost all school referendums passed.  The only one that failed was in Beloit that lost by 2 votes.

There was  referendum in Sun Prairie that in the last count I saw was winning 1075 - 14.  I'm not sure what the referendum was but I'm thinking it was about "should we do away with hanging witches" or something and I wonder about those 14 NO votes.

I mention this as my family has a history of witch issues in seems.

oddly - and I literally just thought of this - when I worked in Madison at 1 W Wilson there was a couple that were wicken and they loved my moms book and set many of her poems to music.

There are a number of instances in my younger days where my mom had an uncanny ability to see things she could not see.  She saw her own death once when her appendix exploded.  The light, floating above the curtain and seeing the Doctors and so forth.

The Edmund Fitzgerald where she went to the hospital because she could not stop shivering. They could find nothing wrong and was released only to see a week later a relative went down with the ship at that very time we were taking mom to the hospital.

My brother having his foot caught in a railroad crossing.  She and I were doing something and all of a sudden she jumped up and was running down the street to the RR crossing a block away.

Maybe . . . . ??

and the elections - wow - massive blue turnout.  Greater then 2016 a Presidential year and much greater then 2014 and 2016.  Still unsure about the State Treasurer who really . . . has no real job.  This is not a all of a sudden let's dump the Treasurer, this has been an issue for a few decades now.

The State Treasurer really has no real duties to speak of.  There is only 1 person in the entire Department.   At least that is what I have read.

Assembly Speaker Robin Vos - what a glottal buffoon.  So Dane County Circuit Judge Rosann Reynolds declared that the Wisconsin GOP and corrupt Governor Walker, who are intent on GOP democracy suppression, MUST hold elections for open seats that have been open for a year.

Well, as we all know Dane County Circuit Judge Rosann Reynolds was appointed by Walker. YET - Vos is calling her a "activist Dame County Judge".   ummmmmm . no idiot!  Maybe she is doing her job and has not been paid off yet?

Once Vos's verbal diarrhea ended William Hanrahan the Head Circuit Judge came to Reynolds defense blasting Vos for taking “the low road” and “sullied his own reputation, diminishing any hopes of being taken seriously as a statesman.”

MORE GUNS IN SCHOOLS???? A good idea??

Dennis Alexander is a reserve Police officer in the Sand City California Police Department and he appeared at Seaside High School for a talk about gun safety. During his talk he pointed his gun at the ceiling and the gun discharged. The bullet hit the ceiling and pieces of the ceiling broke off and fell into the group of students injuring three students, one of whom took a bullet fragment to the neck.

Mr. Alexander is a reserve Police Officer mind you, trained as well as possible in gun safety protocols. Yet he hurt three children when he brought a gun into Seaside High School.

Yea - more guns is a great idea.

I see the Trump stock market is doing GREAT today as the trade war begins in earnest.  The woman groper says "America has already lost the trade war".  I AGREE!!

SADLY - while the market is in free fall a normally efficient free fall net is not available as major corporation can not buy back the 800 billion in stocks they that normally would be able to buy back on dips.   There is a share buyback lock up period so they are stuck watching.

Is Trump bragging about how he is killing farmers in Wisconsin?   Hogs, ginseng, dairy, motorcycles and 120 other things america sells overseas are now stuck in the US are all of a sudden and NOT going to China.

ANYWAY - WEATHER  Gus the Weather Dog was on the low end of being close  3.5 inches fell last night about 12 hours AFTER it was suppose too.

High of 28 on Friday - only 25 degrees below normal.  More snow coming Sunday and Monday 2-6 inches followed by a warming trend and 3 days of rain Wednesday into Friday NEXT week.  Although long range is not the MOST accurate.
