Sherwood Automotive Columbus WI

Columbus Fourth of July Celebration - who is responsible for this - nice page - just curious who is in charge ????
========================

Yea - that is a blatant ad up there in the title. I have dealt with this guys a few times on one problem and am VERY happy. We had a Honda Civic that would not start and then WOULD start whenever we took it in to get it fixed. The symptoms are that we would turn the key and everything would work EXCEPT the starter which would not even make the click click click sound.

Plenty of juice. BUT - then after 2 days VROOM! no problems.

So that last time Bob Sherwood said the next time it does not start tell us and we will make a house call and look at it.

Well - Bob was on vacation but James was there and HE came out. Tapped the starter with a rubber mallet and VROOM - "ahh - bad starter" Then as he was checking around a cord seemed loose. He checked to make sure there was juice entering the starter and when he plugged the cord back in he said "that's strange".

When he checked the cord to see if it was attached it was sort of loose, but when he plugged it back in there was a definite CLICK when it was attached. He bets the cord was not attached completely.

I won't say how much a house call costs but it was very very inexpensive and DJ and I are both very happy. Those guys again proved that they care about cars and not about trying to get every buck out of you. Now there are two places in Columbus that I feel at ease about taking my car too. Frank Porth and Sherwood Automotive.

I can't think what Frank did but I do remember DJ and I saying "that was cheap" which is something normally you don't say when it comes to car's getting fixed.

Mark Burnett - if you are a Survivor or Eco Challenge fan you really have to check out Expedition Africa on Sunday Nights on the History Channel - OH MY!!!

The first episode was Sunday and it is must see TV for me. A visual thrill ride that retraces the historic trails of Dr. Livingstone.

Talk about something I WOULD NOT DO! 950 miles through Africa in 30 days. Walking through mud up to your knees with 60 pound back packs through mango swamps. AWESOME.

Constant bickering with two head strong alpha males, three REAL explorers and a News guy (who covers wars). The main alpha male at one point said "we'll go a quarter mile this way, I'll step off a quarter mile because I know exactly how many steps it will take (pointing at the woman) and I know you don't know how many steps it would take". At which point she got a little pissed as she DID know exactly how many of her steps it would take.

I'm just interested which explorer kills the leader first when he "falls" off a cliff or something.

This is like eco-challenge on steroids.

Check it out. There is actually a lot more scenery - but this is going to be really interesting.

Kestrel Ridge. I have not golfed on the course yet this year but have noticed a few changes. Seems the new management has made the fairways smaller/shorter. I'm not sure if this is a cost saving thing or just making the course a little more challenging. I know the 16th hole fairway has changed. Also - have other courses started watering yet? Ours is green but my garden could use some water.

I have to laugh at the talking heads that boast they have a clue on what the stock market is doing.

Two weeks in a row I read "THIS COMING WEEK INVESTORS WILL FEEL THE PAIN OF A STOCK MARKET PULL BACK". Yea - good one. These guys have no clue. One of my favorite classes in college was Econ. I loved it. One of the things I took away was that no ones what will happen.

These guys sit there in their offices surrounded by other financial people looking at their charts but they fail to get out and listen to the human race.

My buddy Balderdash had this exactly right (but 2 months off). He said as soon as Obama became President and we got out of the Black Cloud of Death the Republicans put us in (my words) the stock market would zoom. I agreed with him. But it took 2 months for the American People to feel more secure and to start thinking more positive on life.

The stock market is more about "feelings" at times and not numbers. If people "feel" better they spend more and more spending brings more jobs but it's like trying to stop a stem ship, takes a long time. Some people hated Obama's stimulus package but what he needed to do is to get people feeling better.

When I read the headlines about bad market weeks ahead I shook my hand wondering WHY! The GM news has already made it's way through the market. It's not like it's a surprise GM filed for bankruptcy, they were SUPPOSE too, that was the deal they made with the government.

sigh.

There REALLY is something called "Cell Phone Elbow" LOL

When cell phone users hold the phone to their ears, they stretch a nerve that extends underneath the funny bone and controls the smallest fingers. When talkers chat for a long time in that position, it "chokes the blood supply to the nerves. It makes the nerves short-circuit. The next thing you know, there's tingling in the ring and small finger,"

TOO FUNNY!!

Gotta run

  1. If you are using Facebook make sure your virus protection is up to snuff. Facebook and MySpace is spreading the Koobface worm from "friend to friend".

  2. The facebook koobface worm

A new variant of the Koobface worm is making the rounds. Facebook users need to be aware of this and other attempts to use clever social engineering related to Facebook to trick them into installing malware.

Like the earlier versions of Koobface, this one starts out as a Facebook message from a friend. The message includes a link to a web site with something enticing like "a video of you". Like the old ones, in order to view the video you have to apply what purports to be an update to your Adobe Flash player, but which is in fact the malware.

The difference in this case is that the page with the video is professional-looking YouTube spoof, complete with the impression that the video has been posted by your Facebook friend. This is a clever next step in the scam.

Install the malware and it will steal your logon credential from Facebook and other sites and send the message on to your friends on them. Trend Micro's description of the malware has all the gory details.

AND NO - it only effects WINDOWS!

  4. Yep, noticed that too, Rod. My ESET caught it and alerted me to its malicious nature. ESET rocks if anyone wants amazing virus protection and is sick of Norton (cough-cough).

Thanks for the heads up! :)
