I mentioned on facebook that I felt the Packers could actually with the game.  The point spread was +3 before Covid hit and Adams was NOT worth 3 points as the line ballooned up to +6.5.  PLUS - EVERYONE was saying the Packers had no chance - HOWEVER - smart money was all over the packers. 

Only 14% of total wagers were betting the Packers would win the game - however 69% of all MONEY was on the Packers winning meaning there were some pretty mammoth bets out there on the Packers.

Some are wondering about  WHY NOT KICK A FIELD GOAL that last drive.

Well - there was a 72% chance of scoring a touchdown, an 88% chance of winning the game Going for it and a 78% chance of winning the game with a FG.

Black Sails - the best series ever and the longest for me to complete.  I watch and episode and it is SO good I can't watch another I don't want it to be over.  In fact between three episodes I've read two books on Pirates, learning about the REAl pirates - the show is pretty darn close to things that actually happened.

Watch John Silver become who he becomes.  The show is actually like GOT where the woman are the real power.  Just get past the first 2 episodes.

NHL - had literally the first losing day - not a HUGE issue but it was upside down Thursday across the board.   Totals were fine at 5-4-1  The Puck line took the brunt of the losses and Straight Up was almost even.   

NBA - VERY VERY early (need a week but testing)  2-1 ATS so far.

Upon further review - it seems ALL house construction in north eastern Wisconsin comes in about $275 a square foot for construction  - YIKES!  I believe our house in Columbus was about $150 a square foot when built.   I think we will build a TINY house in the woods  LOL

I finished book 5 of the Alex time travel adventure and HIGHLY  HIGHLY recommend it for anyone that loves alternate reality, military warfare from the past, and fantasy.   

Without giving too much away. A special forces dude finds a door in his basement behind a wall that leads to the future thousands of years from now after armageddon. The people that live there are anti-technology and cave dwellers.  But are AWESOME.  

The series explores what happens when others from the future want to  enslave, change and colonize these free, loving and spiritual people.  It's not really a "time traveling" book but he does travel in time a couple times (back and forth). 

What Shawn Inmon does is explain everything on what happened and why, so it's really fantasy explained. We have become internet friends (he traveled through Columbus a month ago).      

One of the last lines in book 5 (which he thought was the final book but it's not).  

"There is something about this world that pulls you like a magnant"  

I SO SO agree. I want to live in this spiritual, kind  utopia earth.  Mr. Inmon calls the series Apocalypse Now meets Alice in Wonderland.  It's not a children's book. 

Shawn says he is a "discovery writer" (like I am).  He says he never really has a plan until he starts typing. It's just happens.  

A Door Into Time is book one and I have never read a better storyteller.  

I've read three more of his alternate reality books and all are mind expanding adventures.  and the guy has written something like 22 books in the last 3 years since quitting his REAL job to become and author.  

Now I must get book 6 that explains The Fog that happens in book 5.

 I'm so sick of the fake rage being displayed by a very small minority of Columbus citizens.  It's just asinine.  They are more concerned that proper procedure was not followed when the council decided it should error on the side of saving lives as opposed to waiting a few weeks to start having meetings on zoom. 

And then let the fake rage begin. OH - nobody complains about meaningful issues but make ONE mistake on procedure all of a sudden City Council is corrupt, sneaky and underhanded trying to fool citizens. 

NORMAL people trying to do the best they can for VERY little pay and a LOT of stress are getting their asses reamed by trolls. And dare I say the same trolls that were perfectly fine with the corruption in the White House for 4 years.

MEANWHILE we got so VERY irritating news this morning and DJ is pissed!   So we have this land we got REALLY cheap at the tip Door County. 100% woods with 100 foot trees.  We contacted a few places on building a log home and moste were REALLY expensive.  Then we contacted Wisconsin Log Homes and they said they could do it in the 75-100 a square foot area. 

Drove to Green Bay and had meetings and we upped how much we were able to spend and they would get back to us.  Then we got an email saying it would cost MORE so we downsized a little  and then got another email back a month later saying it would NOW cost $275 a square foot and cost about $500,000  NOT including clearing the land and so forth 

WTF?   Why would they string us along for months - AAAAGH!!

15 years ago we planted an Autumn Blaze Maple in our yard - it was GREAT for 12 years until the BIG freeze  a few years ago.  Winter damage and some issues with roots strangling itself.   After spending $$ to fix it the experts said - don't sink anymore $$ into it. 

Down it came with tears but this morning 

 

 

And a new Brandywine Maple has been installed in our yard. 

Seems rather ostentatious when full grown.  LOL  Golf course should have paid for it LOL

Rejected AND relieved at the same time. And the NHL

 I've been pretty politically correct the last 2 weeks. Not saying things like the disgraced loser X-president is looking more and more like he will end up in jail and so forth.  Can you LOOK more guilty?  EVERYTHING he has done so far screams I AM GUILTY AND STILL PRESIDENT!    

"I COULD STAGE A COUP, pee on prostitutes and brag about groping woman and my lemmings would still vote for me".  See - I could not say that before. 

Reason was Columbus City council needed 2 people to fill absent seats.  One was moving to a new district which is just STUPID how he had to give up a seat.  And the other decided Council was not as much fun and refused to wear a mask (or some other dumb reason).   

SO - duty called and I submitted my letter to help out if needed.  I was not needed as Amy Roelke wanted the seat and I say new blood is always welcomed . She was not my first choice (I was my first choice) but it's all good.   Michael Clark was the other X-alderman to get the seat.   

My ONLY sadness is I really wanted to work with the city attorney and city engineer - my two favorite contractors in the city.  I miss their cheery faces.   

I find it odd how a town of 5000 has problems filling 6 seats while Fox Lake and their new City Admin former Mayor Kelly with 1600 people have zero issues filling 6 seats.  

ANYWAY - I tried to help but was not needed.  It's all good! I feel rejected AND relieved at the same time.  I'm going to miss the 20 hours a month for low pay and constant complaining. 

SERIOUSLY - have you noticed I stopped taking photos of Columbus when I became an alderman?  Seeing the dark side - the Michael Eisaenags and  a few other current players constantly trying to screw over the government left a bad taste in my mouth.  I'm finally getting my taste back in the last 2 years. 

MEANWHILE - DJ was filling in for Josh and Jenny who were up north finding a place for Josh to live a few days a week as a traveling, WELL PAID nurse up dare in Sturgeon Bay.  He will actually have more home time as its a day job.  

Side note - they took some photos of our new land we purchased - as Jenny says this little lane will someday lead to a little cabin/house - SADLY the little house/cabin we were planning will cost $500,000 - THAT AIN'T HAPPENING!!   LOL  Back to the actual drawing board

So!   DJ has to pick up the kids at school and parked in a zone that said no parking in the morning - she was there in the afternoon and was not parking but was stopped. Got a ticket and was told parking there was not safe and it's better to drive in circles around the school waiting for a spot to open up.

YEA - MUCH SAFER - of course our lame ass school board did absolutely nothing to fix this issue for the last 7 years.  In fact when I was an alderman this was STILL a problem and they STILL had zero ideas.  

HOW ABOUT putting a fence up so kids cannot cross the road and how about A CROSSING GUARD?   KNOCK KNOCK ANYBODY HOME?  (I don't know why they didn't want me on council  LOL)  We gave the Police Department AND school board a task to come up with a plan - zzzzzzzzzz - received NOTHING in advice. yet - Council is thrown under the bus for not doing anything.

Seems their plan is to give out hundreds of tickets and tell people to drive around the school in circles.  

AND remember - I have zero issues with the current police department.  When I was running for council there were 2 departments people ALWAYS complained about and the Police clean up their act. Zero issues except the tickets and throwing council under the bus when giving them out. The officer apologize when the ticket was handed to DJ.   

OK - that is the morning rant.  Good luck to Amy Roelke and I hope the next 4.5 years are good for her.  It is still one of the things I am most proud about in my life (along with surviving the 70s).  adn I say 4 .5 years because when I decided to be an alderman tha twas my rule - you HAVe to give 4 years of your life to learn the ropes.

OK - my football picks did not pan out but I'm actually more interested in the NHL.  My system continues to pick an amazing amount of picks and most are favorites which go against most things I believe in but geez - 73.3% win rate in 45 picks over 7 days.  YES  heavy favs so I'm only up 7.06 units.  If I can keep up 1 unit a day for the next 168 days - I would be pleased  LOL

GHOSTS CBS - NFL and NHL games

 SORRY - if you are not a sports geek just bear with me for a while.  I was thinking of creating just a sports blog with picks but . . . . . . 

I'll start with a new show  GHOSTS on CBS

Somehow our DVR did not record GHOSTS which started LAST Thursday but we watched both episodes last night - What a wonderful, funny and cute show.  LOVE IT.  The Ghosts are the stars and I LOVE the Viking - he is hilarious.  If you are looking for a new comedy check it out and if you can watch last weeks episodes.   It's actually a direct take off from Ghost in the UK (Like the Office was). 

You probably knew that The Office 1st season was almost word for word from the UK Office. Once they got away from the UK it got MUCH better.  GHOSTS is good already and almost word for word from the UK - DON'T JUDGE, if you have seen comedies from America writers - they suck. Plus there is a strike coming which is a show killer.

ANYWAY - remember when I said my NHL system just had too many picks with a too high winning percentage?  Well - my ISSUE was how much vig I was paying which was sort of an unknown.  Until now.  

My NHL "pre-season" system (I call it pre season as teams are still playing their first game) is now 5-2 playing against the puck line.  The Puck line is like a point spread.  +1.5 or -1.5. 

5-2 with worth +1.77 units.   BASICALLY - SO FAR - play every +1.5 on every game.  My other NHL system is still waiting for more games to be played and Goalies are the big thing.    A nice website for goalies

Halloween - not MY choice - Madison Cannabis Expo

 Lots of people upset in Columbus as this years Halloween is changing the date back to Sunday and not the highly successful and loved Saturday as it has been for the last 7 or 8 years. 

Not sure why the change except it IS Halloween on Sunday.  Still, so many people loved Saturday I'm not sure why Council would change it.  Humans love things being constant and never changing and when something is as successful as a Saturday (personally I was against Saturdays when I was on council but have seen now awesome it was) I'm wondering what the reasoning was.  OH - I could go look back but . . . .it's not that important to me. 

Not MY decision and did not even know it was even going to change (why would it?).  It's no big deal.  It will be to many residents that are gearing up for Saturday.  No newspaper, radio or any other news to let people know, I hope that was taken into consideration on the decision.

Remember yesterday when I said my NHL system(s) picked way way too many games with a way way too high of winning %? It seemed . . wonky?  Well   2-0 last night (up 1.78 units).  It's picking every freaking game so far  LOL  GULP!   

I was back testing my NBA system(s) and found it works MUCH better on weekends.  It's an AWAY dog system . It's actually a loser on Mondays hitting 48%, Tuesday  50.6%, Wednesday 55.5%, Thursday 58.3%,  Sunday 59.8%,  Friday 62.3%, Saturday  65.3% - HOWEVER  past performances are not indicative or future results so . . . . . . tread lightly. 

ALWAYS remember - chasing systems does work as long as you know when to pull the plug. That is something Elwood just does not understand.  He is so afraid of losing he never has a chance to win.

My political rant of the day (maybe two).  The first is the so called liberal media that refuses to talk about the attempted coup by the failed loser X-President.  How often is there a REAL coup attempt . . . . and the media is afraid to news it up? 

And then the Republicans politicians call themselves the party of law and order? Remember when the X President refused to order flags flown at half-staff over federal buildings to honor the police officer killed in the ransacking of the Capitol on Jan 6th, 2021.  Why would he NOT order flags flown at half-staff for a true hero?

Dix street from a couple years ago 

OH - I'm not even speaking about the Brewer game and how it ended.  I'm a huge Yelich fan and it was disappointing.  In June I read that he was swinging less then he did 2 years ago ever since his knee injury.  More swings and misses meant he was also swinging MORE and hitting the ball more.  

I hope he gets his head screwed on straight in the off season and has an injury free spring training which he has not had for 2 years.  

LUCKILY - I played him for the last time in my Strat-o-matic league using LAST years stats as I lose him for free agentry.  I ended up 55-107 but he still had 100 runs and and 109 RBIs for me a super pathetic covid team.  MUCH better next year. All I HAVE to have is a bullpen with every position covered. So every draft pick will go to help me. Unlike last year where I had 4 positions covered and literally zero warm bodies pitching.   Hey! I had a 20 game loser in Lyles.  My pitching staff had a 5.51 ERA.

yes yes yes - I was 7-2 in the NFL and am now 15-7.  Working on next week.  Plus working on the NBA and after back testing 2 years I THINK I'm ready   70-52 two years ago and 83-54 last wonky year. NHL - well - with the wonky season last year I'm not sure what will happen. WAY WAY too many games with a WAY too high of a ATS (puck line) winning %%.  Makes me leery with only 1 year of stats.  600 games with a 65% win rate makes me REALLY uneasy. 

The NHL starts tonight with ESPN and Turner taking over the media - here is the odd thing.  In the NBA 67% of fans have a favorite team and 50% have a favorite player.  In the NFL  79% have a fav team and 54% have a fav player.  NHL?  60% team but ONLY 27% player.  Turner /ESPN want to change that.  

Back to the NFL - The FiveThirtyEight website has a "game importance" rating.  The least important game this week is Miami vs. Jacksonville  zzzzzzz  The Packers is the 4th most important game.  LA Chargers vs. Baltimore is #1

 YES -you heard that right.  There are 5000 meme cryptocurrencies.  What is the current price of  SHIB (I own 900,000 shares)   $0.00003122.  The big excitement was that SHIB lost a zero last week and zoomed up 240%.  

You might be saying why would you invest in something worth . . . well . . . pretty worthless?  BECAUSE it want up 240%  LOL  

OK - Dogecoin was created as a joke to make fun of the high volatility of cryptocurrencies.  Last year at this time Dogecoin was worth $0.003  and at the moment its at $0.227 . So last October if you had "invested" $100 into Dogecoin it would be worth $7,566 today.  

SO - SHIB INU is an altcoin on the Ethereum blockchain and was created by an unknown human who calls himself Ryoshi and is an experiment in decentralized spontaneous community building.

Charlie Morton the Atlanta Starter has been pitching really well although his ERA is higher the 2nd half but that is because his fielding was worse. His OPS is outstanding for opposing batters.  

He's slightly better vs. Left handed batters and is better on the road.  Watch out for his pitch count - over 50 and he really goes downhill fast. Below 50 pitches his OPS is .500  above it balloons to about .700

Corbin Burnes

way better vs. Right handed batters with a .477 OPS, better on the road, Both halves of the season were about the same.  He goes down hill after his 75th pitch from .450 before to .750 above and he loves pitching in day games while Morton is much worse in day games.

AmFam field was the WORST ballpark to hit home runs in this year for both teams in MLB . .  YET the most doubles.  What changed to make ball fly 2 feet shorter.  AmFam was the 3rd most in runs in MLB.    

Side note - Milwaukee, the smallest market in MLB was 10th in attendance

Stayed up late late last night watching the Dodgers/Card game and was very satisfied with the outcome.  If you were rooting for the Cardinals you have not been a Brewer fan very long. 

You see I have Gallegos on my Strat-o-matic team (55-107 this year after winning the World Series last year) for a few years and love the guy and thought he would be the Cards closer. However, the team went with Reyes instead.  Reyes failed and Gallegos was installed as the closer YEA!!   

A few weeks ago before the Brewers decided winning was not a thing but rest was the Cards were beating "us".  Gallegos was pitching great but got in trouble and the Cards bought in Reyes who was pounding his chest and just giving off a dick-like aura.  First pitch HOME RUN Brewers win.  

Last night the same thing was happening Gallegos pitched great, McFarland came in and got in trouble and the Cards summoned Reyes who AGAIN! pounded his chest and strutted like a king onto the mound to save the world.  

I said - GAME OVER   BAM home run!  

Side note - Pujols - what a huge human being.  How much does he eat in a day! 

Meanwhile in the NBA.  Teams that travel to Toronto. If you are unvaxed you are not allowed to leave your hotel unless it's to the game OR GET ARRESTED!  LOL love it.

some awesome news.  As some know I have granddaughters on the spectrum.   Bailey is 5 and does not really communicate with the world but is SLOWLY coming out of the shell. One word at a time. 

One day the therapist was writing a report and she turns around and Bailey is reading a book word for word.   IT SEEMS  she reads at a 2nd grade lever. 

MEANWHILE - Sydney 10, never said a word until she was about  4? When she was 7 she did nothing but watch youtube videos on - wait for it . . .chemical engineering and it seems she reads 2 grades about her level.  And then there is Caydence, sweet sweet Caydence with Down Syndrome that is just a joy and headache at times but she has the innate ability to see the good and beauty in the world and just radiates joy and happiness. 

I remember Sydney coming to an art fair a few years ago.  She really looks at artwork thoughtfully. She was in another artists canopy and said  "I don't like that"  LOL  At 8 she made a stop action movie with an iPad and legos and is an amazing story teller. 

OH - speaking of storytelling.      

My brothers hard cover book looks like spring to hit the presses.  A gritty historical western, sort of a cross between Deadwood and Hell on Wheels.  VERY researched,  In fact next week he is traveling to Idaho Falls to research for book 2.  

I might be mentioned along with the brewmaster at Ooga Brewing.  One of the main characters came to America to make beer so he needed to know exactly what the beer making process was in the late 1800s. He then the hero travels by rail to the west and let the adventure begin.  367 pages in Book 1. 

My moms book is at the Columbus Library SnapShots along the way: a lifetime of poetry  currently ranked #72,940 in Poetry Books.  She didn't publish it but I put it all together and self published.

Yet - here I am - with over 1 million pages read on a stupid blog about basically what is inside my brain on that particular morning.   Seriously - not a clue what I'll type every day until I sit down - then shit just spews out and I pray I don't get in trouble. . . . . again.  

And then I realize.  I have written a monthly article in for a poker magazine, I wrote a weekly article for a Columbus newspaper, I had an article in The Sporting News?  am I a writer?  NO - I'm a blogger - it's different.

I REALLY need a new desktop computer.  The one I have has run 24/7 for almost 10 years with Win 7.  the weather station runs ALL THE TIME!   Seriously 24/7 for 10 years trouble free.  SADLY many things I can't used now as the graphic card won't handle it. Any new card is physically too large.  But man I hate giving up on this model T of a computer that never gives me a problem.

And then there is BitCoin and it's rocket rally once again as it nears $54,000.  Last year around this time BitCoin started its huge rally going from $11,000 to $60,000 in a year.  In the last 3 months it has gone from $31,000 back to $55,000.  I've used Bitcoin to buy a few things but geez it's like selling a stock for groceries even though I get 4% back in another Cryptocurrency,  Steller Lumans which has gone from 24 cents to 42 cents. 

Make money while you can on these types of things. 

I sold creepy crawlers in 1st grade, sold cinnamon laced toothpicks in Junior High (got in trouble with that one). Played 5 parlay cards against themselves in the 80s introducing gambling and how to make money.  (Don't get me started in how to arbitrage online books so it's truly ZERO risk gambling). 

Got on the bonus whore ride in the late 1990s and early 2000s making over $1K for a month for a few years in free money when the new online casinos were offering free cash to play Blackjack and Poker.

City Council and the MASK RAGE outside.

And this sounds more angry then it is  really sort of a funny rant  Re-reading it  LOL  

 I watched the Columbus City Council meeting on zoom last night.  The meeting was held virtually for a number of reason one of which the anti mask crowd was VERY intent on disrupting the meeting. It's their right to disrupt City Council. 

 They were SO pissed off that they were not allowed to attend the meeting (that they have never actually been too) that instead of listening to it over different streaming services they protested outside telling people to honk their horns to disrupt the meeting. BRILLIANT! 

The fake rage by people clueless on why they are protesting except listening to local homeschooled Trump bred attorneys that believe they know all the rules.  

I believe this is called Disturbing the Peace?   Examples

• Shouting in a public place intending to incite violence or unlawful activity;
• Knocking loudly on hotel doors of sleeping guests with the purpose of annoying them
• Holding an unlawful public assembly
• it's a  misdemeanor criminal offense

What did they miss with their fake rage? blah blah blah  your typical semi boring normal agenda like dredging creeks and so forth.   

OH - and then they are all angry that City Council was discussing how to fill two vacant chairs.  One guy had a temper tantrum and quit because he had to wear a mask and another is moving to a new district.  SO - last meeting they were discussing how to fill the seats and the idea was that there are alderman from the past that have experience and could fill in for 6 months and only 6 months.  Experience is a good thing.  

So this meeting they decided, AS ADULTS, to have all candidates submit letters to be reviewed from all citizens and that is where we stand now.   

So you have one faction that believe the Columbus City Council is pure corrupt politics and they want their friends and or family to be on council for 6 months as opposed to maybe getting individuals with a lot of experience in City Councils who really could care less about politics.  

But really this all boils down to wearing masks.  HOW STUPID is that.  Of all the things to have rage over in the world THIS is the hot item?  OH - and their rallying cry is that Council did not use correct procedure in closing the in person meetings to people. How can they yell and scream at Council members now.  Guess they gotta go outside and scream and yell there! 

Council is made up of normal citizens with zero  skant education on political procedure and are just trying to do their best to help the city. They are not lifelong politicians. Yet they are being screamed at and being threatened with lawsuits for not dotting the "i's".  Yet I bet not one of the protesters AND the people riling them up ever held an office. 

It's embarrassing AND disgusting and no wonder Columbus has an issue with getting people to run for office.  These protesters WANT Columbus to fail so they can screamed I TOLD YOU SO! . 

BUT - in GOOD news - Columbus did finally hire a Treasurer.    OH - one of the HUGE complaints about corruption is that the City Admin was doing the treasurer job.  YEA - there was a problem finding ANYBODY that wanted to be treasurer. Do they know how long Columbus has been looking?   HELLO!!  KNOCK KNOCK! ANYBODY HOME? 

OH yea - there was an audio outage so for an hour there was no sound on one of the streaming services.  It was fixed almost immediately when an alderperson brought it up. But social media said the city was trying to hide something.  Yea - super secret things like how much are we spending on taking stray dogs to Dodge County shelters!!  THE HORROR!!!  WHY IS THIS KEPT FROM THE PUBLIC!! WHAT ARE YOU HIDING!   

And then there is social media -  there was a big question on social media about what the protesters were protesting.  Nobody knew.  LOL.  They had signs but nobody could read them. ONLY HONK if you agree.  It was not until the guy riling everybody up told them the fake rage reason and it seems nobody cared.

60.9% of Columbia County has had at least 1 shot.

Columbus is averaging 3.9 new unvaxed cases of Covid a day 0 vaccinated cases a day but only a total of 9 Columbus Citizens have passed away.  About 2 unvax'd out of every 1000 in Columbus. 0 out of 1000 for vaccinated.

Council getting crap, Tracking PPP in Columbus,. Bridgejumper, Storage unit racket

 I'm in a quandary.  No MLB, no NHL, no NBA, no NFL, no women's soccer (OK OK never looked anyway - soccer is a niche sport) . . . why even have excel spreadsheets this week.   

OH - backgammon spreadsheets - I'm up to high advanced in Backgammon which is pretty darn good when playing against the worlds #1 backgammon software (the one used in the highest tournaments - remember, in high stakes backgammon  winning is not the only thing, you actually need to play better then your opponent and every move is rated.)

I played one game where I played at World Class level. I lost and was gammoned  LOL

I just got done talking to a citizen who thinks our city's government is corrupt and inept but never had any REAL issues except "the process" "the process" with fake rage. 

It's typical for someone NOT in government to complain.  The same ones pissed off that tonight's meeting is on ZOOM BECAUSE the unvax'd, who never enter government buildings are complaining that you have to wear a mask if you enter a government building.  

They want to take up time whining about wearing masks OR they complain that the proper "procedure" was not followed - instead, common sense was used  OH THE HORROR - NOT COMMON SENSE AGAIN!!  

SERIOUSLY?  This is what they want to complain about when councl has ACTUAL work to do?   I don't get it - they complain and complain but do they ever want to do actual work and get on a committee?  NOPE!

I once was at an apartment and a couple were purchasing a piece of art for $400. I was using the Square and typed in 4000.00  and pressed enter.  BAM -  within seconds I had charged them $4000 AND it went through.  WELL - I had never tried to refund anyone on The Square but fumbled through it and while my shirt was soaked with sweat everything was fine.

We were at Mooya Burger Saturday - what I consider the best "fast" food burger place I know of.  If you like Five Guys - Mooya took their idea and made it better.  

ANYWAY - I'm paying with a CC for the first time as opposed to a debit card and did not have my reading glasses.  I put the card in and a thing pops up that says enter your ZIP - I put in 53925 and pull the card out. 

The lovely woman behind the counter says "I will refund you the $539"   "I'm sorry what?"  I say.  "I will refund you the $539" she says and I look at her blankly  "You just gave us a $539 TIP".   "WELL! I do believe you guys should have a tip but maybe that was a little overkill."

Without glasses TIP and ZIP sort of look the same.  I guess it was not the first time this has happened. 

I do love getting 10% off when using their app.  It accumulates and you can use it later.

How does RPI work? 

RPI does not consider margin of victory or how well a team has played. It only considers whether a team won or lost.  RPI is based entirely on winning percentage. It is based 25% on a team's winning percentage**, 50% on the winning percentage of their opponents**, and 25% on the winning percentage of their opponent's opponents**.

**NOTE - a win at home is only counted as 0.6 wins and a win on the road is counted as 1.4 wins and vice versa.

 

a VERY simple example:

• Team A is 4-1 (win percentage = .800)
• Team A's opponents are 12-8 (win percentage = .600)
• Team A's opponent's opponents are 64-16 (win percentage = .800)

• RPI = (0.25 * .800) + (0.5 * .600) + (0.25 * .800)
• RPI = .200 + .300 + .200 = .700

The strength of schedule (SOS) rating is based on the last two components of the RPI formula:

SOS = (2/3) * Opponents Winning Percentage + (1/3) * Opponents Opponents Winning Percentage

SO - Packers are 14th   LA Chargers are #1   NE Pats are #32 

In fact Minnesota is 12, Packers 13, Bears 14   The Packers have played weak opponents so far with Detroit (29) Pittsburgh (8) and San Fran (24) and New Orleans (20)

Cincinnati is 16, Packers are -3,5 favs, might have to pick the Bengals to cover. 

ONE LAST THING about the NFL

There have been 10 overtime playoff games, 9 have been won by the team that won the coin flip.  There have been 6 OT games this year - ALL have been won by the team that won the coin flip.
